This IS a good fic!

I will admit, CANON-wise, I am a NaruSaku fan, but that is because there is DEVELOPMENT between Naruto and Sakura in canon that there isn't between Naruto and Hinata, the result is the ending makes NaruHina look cheap. It makes both Hinata and Sakura look like 'fall-back girls' or rebounds rather than what they were apparently meant to be, this was made worse by the movie "The Last" which unlike other movies is considered canon since Tonrei is shown in future canon material and the Last shows the arrival of Boruto, but the way Sakura 'handed' Naruto off to Hinata feeling that she herself wasn't 'worthy' of him makes her relationship with Sasuke look like a rebound and Hinata look like Naruto's rebound.

I would however be singing a different tune had NaruHina started earlier in canon or if Kishimoto had pushed a bit of NaruHina development after the Pein Arc, but the sad fact is, canon literally goes right from Naruto pursuing Sakura, to Hinata confessing, to the war, then to the marriage which left NO development for NaruHina except for Hinata's one-sided admiration (this of course does not include filler arcs and movies as only The Last can be considered canon).

However this is FANFICTION and one can do whatever they want. To be honest I think your entire portrayal is VERY realistic from the village gaining respect for Naruto's battle with Gaara to Naruto's growing confusion and journey for understanding as a Ninja, he just faced his first true threat at that point (Orochimaru and Shukaku) and suffered his first real insight to the horrors of war (Sarutobi's death). The fact that in CANON Naruto remained an oblivious idiot until the end and Konoha didn't come to accept him until AFTER the battle with Pein was just TOO ridiculous. As such your story is refreshingly realistic and even more so that these changes are subtle instead of the "Oh Sakura-chan" one second and "Oh my god Hinata-chan, how did I ever pursue Sakura-chan over you" bullshit in the next.

In response to a few other of your reviewers... who the fuck is Huri Hyuga? Second... where is it ever stated ANY Hyuga cannot marry outside of the clan or where was it ever even INSINUATED there were any plans to marry Hinata off? Also, the Hyuga elders ARE dicks, this is actually a canon fact as it was not only shown in Hanabi Gaiden arc but also mentioned in Canon that their grandfather WAS the one whom drove the wedge between Hanabi and Hinata, so yes, the man's a dick. Hiashi however is often over exaggerated in fanfics, he has never shown open disdain for Hinata, only disappointment and impassiveness, this is understandable as Hinata has to not only be strong to protect the clan from outside enemies, but also those INSIDE like the elders, if she is weak-willed, then the Elders will manipulate her into continuing the division between the two houses, something Hiashi has shown to disapprove of since the VERY beginning, not only when he spoke with Neji, but again in his battle with an Edo Hizashi he spoke about how Branch and Main house members were finally fighting side-by-side, Hiashi probably did not want his daughter to be the Elder's pet bitch and fellt Hanabi had more of a backbone to deal with them, but he was NEVER shown to be openly hostile towards Hinata.

Also, if the Hyuga clan is as dedicated to their historical roots as they've been portrayed, they would probably JUMP at the chance of marrying a powerful Byakugan user to Naruto. If Madara awakened the powers of Hagoromo through the bastardized abominable union of his and Hashirama's cells (uniting the bloodlines of Asura and Indra), then what would the Hyuga (descendants of Hamura) gain from the union of one of their own with Naruto (the descendant of Hagoromo)? The answer, KAGUYA'S power. I think it's very likely based off that and what we're starting to see in Boruto, that Hinata and Naruto's union is opening the second coming of a new Otsutsuki. While I hate Boruto, his powers are showing to be very similar to Kaguya's and then there's still the unanswered question fo what will HIMAWARI, a girl whom as a small CHILD was able to knock both Naruto AND KURAMA on their asses! Imagine what that little girl will be capable of in the future!

So yeah, NaruHina holds a lot of untouched promise that fanfiction allows one to tap into, so I'm very excited with this story, hope to see a continuation!

There is Natsu Hyuga, her age is never really stated, and she looks young, plus she's Hanabi's childhood servant, she could be a teenager for all we know.

But I have no problem with your OC, I was just pointing out. Actually I'm using an OC Hyuga sister in my own fic I'm working on (elder maternal half-sister of Hinata) who is a grown version of Hinata with her original short hair-style (inspired after a REALLY well-drawn picture of a short-haired adult Hinata from YEARS before Shippuden when fans though Hinata would keep the short hair) I also named her 'Himari' after Himari Noihara from Omamori Himari as the name shares the same translation as both 'Hinata' and 'Himawari', both of which translate as 'Fire Flower' or 'Sunflower' for short.
