I know that Harry destroyed his pattern, so I don't know why I cannot let go of the spectre of him returning, other than the Horcrux in his head, which is referenced just often enough to make me cringe and think 'voldemort is not gone!' lol

Later, talking with Flitwick, Harry muses that he 'assumed that they were dead'.

I laughed a lot in this chapter, smiled even more.
And then you got to Alice. And I trembled at what was coming. I laughed again (sweet little niffler? Really!? *happy sad smiling sigh*)
And then I cried.

You haven't made a single mention of voldy in... over a dozen chapters? That's not good :p

That was so damned cool that I don't have words.

And I'm cringing at what he's going to face when he gets home - even though he wasn't responsible for the vampire taking him, though I suppose that he could have returned for Hermione, he was Harry was clear that he didn't want her to be there. He's in a no-win situation and I wouldn't even want to be the proverbial fly-on-the-wall for the fight, the magical backlash will be deadly!

An absolutely fascinating chapter - and yet, the story is brimming with a fearful anticipation of the enemies both near and far.

Yikes! I don't think the baddie Sees like Harry, but she seems to have a similar control of magic.
