O_O This is beautiful. And you can tell that she really did kind of snap, as the original Shikako would not have been okay with killing so many people on such a massive scale. Not to mention the collateral damage of who knows who might have been near some of those nin when they exploded. Love it.

Why didn't she run sooner when she could?

I loved this fic. I'd like to imagine that embolden by the new chakra storage seal Cloud starts making more overtly hostile actions. Maybe things aren't quite so bad that it's a new Shinobi World War but it is very close. In the middle of a border skirmish Konoha Ninja pause as a good third of the attacking force suddenly fall screaming in pain. Thankfully the Shinobi in charge, maybe Shikaku, decides to let the enemy retreat with their fallen instead of pick the last of them off. There is a brief quit as the leaf-nin start to heal those they can and comfort those that they can't. It's probably Tsume or another one of the Inuzuku that's on gaurd duty that notices it first. A faint staccato of explosions in the direction that the Cloud-nin had retreated in. A small scouting party is sent, they do not find any survivors. There are a few casualties among those in T&I back in Konaha who were in the same room or nearby when a captured ninja explodes, but all in all one of the Five Great Nations entire military order is practically destroyed. The Raikage survives, but one S-class nin does not make an army.

i thought she knew better than to monologue to her victims. that's what villans do.

The last line was the moat satisfying thing to read.

Damn. This makes me want to see what happens after, what with Shikako essentially destroying an entire Hidden Village solo while being held as a tortured prisoner. The ramifications would be massive, on an international level, and I'll be damned if that doesn't get me excited to think about.

Yes, absolutely yes, this is so far beyond beautiful :D thanks for writing it. I'd praise you more for this, but alas trump has just won the election, so I'm off to plan my escape before he gets the chance to destroy the country while I'm still in it

You say this is a one shot but I'd love to see a continuation. If only just one more chapter. Great, different kind of dos au!

I would really love to see a follow-up to this. She's basically just taken down the entirety of their ninja force in one blow. (Because if it works, why wouldn't you take advantage of a seal like that. I kind of figure, Mist being how it is, that they'd get that seal on as many of their nin as they could.)

I would really like to see Tsunade's reaction to Shikako coming home after basically defeating an entire country.
