Absolutely amazing. I actually skipped over this fic the first time I saw it due to the pairing but now I'm sad that there's not a lot like it. So well written and you had me tearing up every dang time he talks with his Naruto.

Reading this again for the 3rd (4th? 5th?) time, and hearing Kakashi call himself bad luck reminds me a lot of the character Qrow from RWBY. He is literally bad luck, as in bad luck happens to both his enemies AND the his allies.

There's even a song about him. It's called Bad Luck Charm. If you haven't heard it, I recommend checking it out.

For the record, as far as I'm concerned this is an OG Naruto fic. I'm sure it's already in thousands of 'best of' collections around the galaxy but I know sometimes no matter how many times people tell you that it's hard to drown out the absolute hot dumpster fire that is ffnet these days. idk what happened to this place, but I'm happy for you for making a decision that benefits your own health and safety and moving on. Thanks for keeping this gem here. It's a gold standard for this fandom that all the other writers should study. Especially because it's clear how much you really, genuinely appreciate Naruto as a work, even if it lights your hair on fire sometimes (as it does mine).
