While i applaud the fact you didnt turn this into a harem(isnt that a miracle?), i think it would have been better if you didnt just said that this would be a Shirou x Arc from the get go... a little shiptease can do wonders for a story... If you know how to do it... and there is the fact that it is... well... a spoiler.

You could also have said that Gil just died in the last War in X circustances without elaborate too much into it instead of just saying, i quote: 'I killed Gil because he was in the way' It sound rather bad even for a AN and its better if you dont say that kind of things to your readers... Even if that is or was what you did.

I loved that part with the build up about how strong the Dead Apostle Ancestors are and the top ten are beyond that.

Hm... I wonder what Shirou will interpret from Gilgamesh's words. I think the results of being a hero that Gil talked about are what Shirou wants more than the title of hero. But... hm. Carry the world on his back? The first part to answer is what he means by "the world" and I'm not talking in the Nasuverse sense. Is it all the world, or what the hero perceives as _their_ world? Two very different things.

But really, Shirou is very unlike most Heroic Spirits. Most of them earned their place through events in their lives; they may have helped people, but it was as parts of their adventures. They may have saved lives, but as part of their role in a war. They may have dispensed justice, but as part of grander events. Oh, most certainly wanted to do these things and enjoyed them. But looking through history and folklore and mythology-how many heroes were out there for no other purpose than to save others? Not through any ambition of their own, or a search for glory, or as part of a quest, or anything greater, but where the end-all be-all of their actions is the salvation of other people?
True, for Shirou saving people is in truth a selfish act. It is the only way he can feel alive, similarly to how Kirei must commit wrongdoings. But saving people isn't what heroes are known for. It's just part of what they do.

What did Gilgamesh see in Shirou's Projection to prompt his reaction? Did he see how Shirou wasn't actually creating anything, but pulling it forth from his Inner World? Or was he just seeing that Shirou pretty much reached the pinnacle of what Projection can do? Since his Reality Marble was empty when Arcueid was in it, is his Reality Marble even Ultimate Blade Works at all?
Probably. Like that Chaos beast found out when his claws were ripped off, that body is certainly made of blades.

I do like that Kanshou and Bakuya aren't here. I often feel that they are a bit overused. I mean, he can use almost any Noble Phantasm he sees, both to invoke its power and to wield it with the skill remembered in its history. There's so many options there.

In case the fact that I've commented on almost every chapter hasn't given it away, I've been fascinated by your story. You do a great job and I'll very much enjoy seeing where you go next.

But there needs to be more scenes of people who have have the greatest foods in history served to them on a regular basis marveling at Shirou and Sakura's kitchen magic.

Saber has a point with the lion bit, even leaving aside her pretending to be male. Lioness is a term more suited to one who follows than to a King.
Also, lionesses don't have that marvelous mane.

One thing really surprises me. The lack of Shirou's amazing cooking. Shirou's chef skills are almost as much a part of him as swords are.

Yeah, Kotomine can be hard to write. He's someone who is only capable of enjoying pain, suffering, and evil, but who fully knows that it is wrong and that he is wrong to enjoy it. He is someone who was born destined to love evil, but who tried to live a good life. He sincerely believes and worships God, but knows he is an impure follower; he carries out the duties of a priest, even to the point of blessing the "birth" of Angra Mainyu. He has a respect for those who succeed at doing so. It's hard to capture the line between pure and unmitigated sadism and his strange sense of almost honor.

Why does she dislike lies?
My immediate thought was about her father.
From how Kirei presented the research information about Dead Apostles to Sakura and the comments she made, it seems like he managed to imply that Tokiomi had been involved in Rin becoming a vampire, instead of trying to cure her-after all, Sakura doesn't even know Rin is still alive and presumably kept safely tucked away.

Welp. Nrvnqsr's dead as fuck now. Have an unhealing wound in him is pretty unnecessary-just Berserker is pretty much overkill for just about everything.

Oh fucking hell, Unholy Grail Irisviel. God, I still remember that zoom-in scene from the anime. Even creepier than Caster's "art".
