How do you break a cup? It wouldn't be an athletic cup, it would be a Huntsman cup so it should be built out of the same stuff as a Huntsman’s armor. Like Jaune’s shield held up fine to Yang’s punches, just build the cup out of whatever that is made out of.

If it’s expensive Pyrrha has money and if nothing else would want a friend to be safe. Plus she has an invested interest in that area of Jaune being in good condition. Nora might convince Pyrrha to get another one for Ren for the same reason.

I love this story so much!

For as well written as a story as this is, for a wilderness suvival story it is seriously lacking in a sense of peril. Realistically, I know that Jaune could die at any moment, but the story doesnt always do a good job conveying that. Grimm encounters are demanding of him, but never difficult or dangerous enough that you really get a sense of danger or how outclassed he is. Even when fighting dangerous grimm, Jaune often comes out relatively unscathed.

I know that there was a mention of safer areas in the deathlands, but that does more damage to the sense of peril as well. With the safe zones and moments of respite, there is very little sense of urgency or need to keep moving- sancuatry in such a dangerous place should be much more sparse than it appears to be so far.

Despite how dangerous the other characters have been making out the deathlands to be, for Jaune it isnt insurmountable. Truthfully, it seems that anyone- Ruby, Weiss, Ren, or even Nora, could survive as long as he has so far.

The deathlands dont quite live up to their name, and although that can change as I read on- it being seven chapters in, there should be a more clear and defined sense of danger to keep a reader invested.

Hi man, just found this story yesterday and I haave to say this is one of the most relistic Jaune upgraddes I've seen in a while! I Love the story so far and I'm looking forward to seing more of it. THanks for sharing and update soon.

glad to see this update, i'm happy Weiss has moved on from the angst fest, but the most important question i feel is did Yang manage to feel the goods when she went south of the border and what did she think of them? XD

Didn’ like this chapte. Three quarters of it was consequence free fighting with no long term impact on the story, followed by maybe five hundred words that’s summarized by “he gives Weiss a hug”.

Good work, thought the action scene was alright.

This is one of my favorite Jaune as the main character story.
