Short, but good a bit confusing, I am also curious with Hinata truly loves Naruto or not, I would say yes, but if she was being manipulated all along I can image why she would be scared.

Sounds to me that the Hokage was either doing it to ensure Naruto loved the village, or manipulating him so Naruto could have a happy life by setting it all up in Naruto favour, including him marrying Hinata.

The idea of using diary entries is great, but think it would be better, you made the entries long and each chapter dedicated to a different character.
