I'm sorry but you said Keith's cheek was like neon bakon and I can't help but think on how a bakon with neon in it would be unhealthy (and probably impossible) yet I realy wanna taste one.

Yay, Shiro's side!

Okay, I love that Matt is involved ... and I love that he apparently breaks into Shiro's room. *snort* I now want this to happen in the show, when Matt isn't away doing coalition stuff. It would be too funny! ... Hmm, then again, I guess their doors don't really lock in the show? That's always weirded me out. Anywho!

You write the characters really well, imo. I've always thought Shiro easily picks up on body language, and you portrayed that wonderfully. Love that he could tell Keith was nervous at first, even if he didn't know the full extent, and made sure to ask permission to sit, etc. Keith's behavior is so accurate for someone suffering abuse! He's clearly used to others simply accepting his lies.

"Katie's move violent than that." Hahaha!

Yes, Go Fish! Keith just needed someone to connect with him and find out some things that were important to him - like playing a simple game he used to play with his dad. I wish the scene was a little longer and included some of the others joining them for games.

I vaguely get the sense that Shiro was putting a lot of extra work into connecting with Keith and trying to find a way to get Keith into a better situation! I wish there was a little more portraying that effort - maybe Shiro not getting enough sleep, and missing some assignments or an important pilot meeting or some such. Shiro's impressive, for sure, but I think even he would have a hard time juggling the extra responsibility he took on!

Again, enjoyed your writing very much! 6 years without reading fanfiction, and now I've favorited two fics in one day. XD Keep up the good work!

This is absolutely amazing! Goodness, I love it when authors write the same events but from a different character's perspective. It's such a richer experience, I find. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! And I adored Matt in this. His little quips about Katie were spot-on! :D

Gah, I finally had the time to read this! And I'm so glad I did. I really liked the all the small additions to the original story, especially how you threw Matt in - I always love scenes with Matt! The way he talks about Pidge, daaaw, he is such a proud big brother (any boy, that girl is a wild animal :P). I liked how he was all pumped up about helping Shiro with Keith. Their interaction was very different from the little bits we've seen on the show (Matt has called him 'sir', for god's sake) but I love it nonetheless.

Well since you asked so nicely, and as an author myself I understand the desire for feedback, here's a review! I really liked how well this matched up with its counterpart, Burning Bright, but it didn't just reiterate the exact same things as that story. Instead you really did a great job of fleshing out details, adding to the story we already heard from Keith's POV, like how Keith was at the petting zoo and how Shiro talked to Matt (and he mentioned Pidge/Katie which is awesome in itself).
I also love this because I am just a sucker for brotherly love and big brother Shiro is so perfect, and it's adorable how he gushes over Keith to the point Matt has noticed he could turn a conversation about salad into being about Keith. On that point, I really like the inclusion of Matt in this fanfic because we don't get to see him that much in the animated show, but from what we have seen of him, I really think you got him in character.
Anyway, amazing job! I'd love to see more of this, like maybe what happened after the events of this story in a one-shot or multi-chapter. It would even be interesting to see how Keith is effected when Shiro goes missing, and is reported as dead, but then Keith finds him and the brothers are reunited! Anyway, those are just ideas, but whatever you decided to do or not do, thanks for writing such a great story! It was a pleasure to read!

Why is my face wet? Probably because I'm a sobbing mess. This is so incredibly sweet. I don't know what to say that could capture how much you've made me feel for Keith.
I like how you made the title matching to Burning Bright and the last sentence. Can we just talk about how you took an incredible story that you wrote and somehow made it better without anything feeling cheesy or forced? This has all been accepted as canon.
Okay, is it weird that I also headcanoned that Shiro was raised by his grandparents? I don't know why but that is also canon. In my mind, he also has an older sister.
Is there going to be a second chapter because my e-mail says that you posted another one but its not there?

This was such a perfect addition to this little universe you built. I really loved that besides teh different perspective you gave us different events too. I super adored Keith taking the bike out and getting to see Shiro's awe of his skills. Yeah boy!
I also really like that Shiro did not have all the answers but even so he did what he could. He really wanted to help Keith but he didn't want to overwhelm him either and he is just the best big brother. From allieviating Keith's "it's a kid's game" to telling him he could do anything he wanted to the hug at the end and the hair ruffles and shoulder squeezes in between these two have stolen my heart. Absolutely wonderful!
