King Piccolo’s power level was only 260 and she was getting whooped!I understand focusing on Gine since she’s on earth but you literally made Goku weaker if you had him lose to a guy with the same power lvl.

Very nice so far! Like the changes you made, both to the OTL and the MasakoX story. Out of curiosity, were you thinking of doing any of the other ones? Because if so, may I suggest doing the "What If Cell Turned Good?" story? It has an interesting concept, and so far it's the only one I haven't seen adapted to Fanfic yet. Let see nearly matching to Vegeta in sayian saga, so basically would plow through the competition.

I'm getting the feeling that Gine and Kakarot are going to mostly steamroll through the Saiyan Saga with Vegeta being the only potential challenge. Raditz is ten times weaker than they are right now (with some generous mathematical rounding), and Nappa is nowhere near strong enough to be a threat outside of the Oozaru state (and would then cease to be a threat to Gine and Kakarot again anyway since Gine can go Oozaru too if necessary). Yeah, Vegeta is going to be the only legitimate threat to the main characters in the Saiyan Saga. Though Nappa is probably going to succeed in killing someone anyway to make sure that everyone else has a reason to go to Namek. Considering that Master Roshi and Krillin were the only members of the group to be killed in the King Piccolo Saga this time around, one of them or Kami himself will likely be on the Saiyan Saga's chopping block.

I’ve actually refrained from commenting on this story besides that one review from a while back that dealt with some technical aspects. Since I’m writing my own story with the same basic prompt as this, I felt like any criticisms I’d make regarding story choices would be colored by bias. However, I feel the need to talk about a couple of things in this chapter.

The main sticking point for me is that you’ve made Gine and Kakarot ludicrously strong for the point that the story is at: Gine is at a power level of 14,000, and Kakarot is sitting at above 15,000. This is YEARS before the Saiyans arrive on Earth, and already either of our protagonists would be able to give Vegeta (who has a power level of 18,000 when he shows up) a decent fight individually. If they tag-teamed him, the prince would be toast. Nobody’s even learned Kaioken yet, which has the potential to turn things into an outright stomp in Gine and Kakarot’s favor.

Given these facts ... where exactly is tension supposed to be derived from during the Saiyan Saga? Nappa and Vegeta have essentially been trivialized as threats, whereas, in the original (and in Masako’s What If), they were far and away the biggest threat that the planet had ever faced, and defeating them came at the cost of several Dragon Team members and the Dragon Balls. In the original What If, Gine’s presence (and her power level of 2,000) was only enough to save Yamcha—Chiaotzu, Tenshinhan, and Kami still bit the dust. With this setup, though? If ANYONE dies, it’ll only be due to plot-induced stupidity, which will be far more frustrating than sad.

Look, I get it: we all want our protagonists to win. But in order to make that victory mean something, the characters have to struggle—otherwise, what’s the point? You’ve guaranteed that the Saiyan Saga is going to be a cakewalk, and I can’t approve of that.

The other thing in this chapter that stood out was this: why the heck did Gine wait until Kakarot was an ADULT to explain the birds and the bees to him? No halfway competent parent would wait that long; that conversation should’ve happened before the kid hit puberty.

This chapter had some grammar errors here and there but not so much were it would get in the way of reading and understanding the story.
This chapter felt really good in terms of execution.
I do think the two saiyans would have a few nightmares inside the chamber, especially Gine since she and Gohan are or were similar in terms of mental strength and personality.
Gohan also had nightmares when he was in the chamber himself one of which was of cell.
That is it. Keep up the good work :)

So you actually decided to do a mini arc involving Kakarot and Gine inside the Room Of Spirit And Time huh, well good, because seeing the chamber being introduced this early on makes the story and chamber look more meaningful and natural, unlike in the original where it was brought out of the blue and seemed like an asspull just for the sake of the storyplot during the andoids/cell arc.

Very entertaining chapter, and I can definitely see Kakarot dominating the tournament flawlessly. Although I am curious to see how Gine would react to seeing Raditz being alive later on.

Although was it wise to increase their power by that much. I mean being stronger than Raditz was expected but now they're practically ready to fight Vegeta when he arrives and that seems like a shame of a good fight?

So, Gine got a vision of Bardock's death? Interesting. Wonder if it was Bardock who sent her that vision from the afterlife, or if it was something else we aren't aware of.

And lol those power levels. Poor Raditz is going to get quite the ass beating when he shows up to Earth and kidnaps Gohan. Hell, I think not even Vegeta and Nappa are a match for Goku and Gine as they're now.

Though, with no Piccolo jr. and Goku and Gine being so strong, I can't help how the tournament is going to play out...

Holy! they're both as strong as Vegeta in the Saiyan saga. That's still about five or six years away from this point too! I do hope Goku and Gine manage to at least train under King Kai at some point though, hopefully without dieing at least. Otherwise, without the Spirit Bomb and Kaio-Ken, they'll need to train to the brink for a long while in order to face Freeza.

Now there's something interesting. She actually managed to harness the power of her rage boost. Probably not fully, but enough to visibly increase her power several times over whenever she taps into that potential.
