Followed a link from reddit to this story. One of the better short stories I have read. Cheers:)
GhostBeethoven chapter 5 . 7/17
Got recced this story from Reddit. It’s not something I would have found on my own. That’s terrible because I would have never known about it. It was fantastic! Everyone was so brutal and broken. How actually guilty Malfoy felt. You actually went through the means of how much you want someone to hurt to be able to cast Crucio and how much hate he could hold onto after that to be able to cast it again and again. Dumbledore actually spilled all of the beans when asked a direct question and There was no bashing of him for it. Just calling out his actual mistakes and flaws. And the fact that Dumbledore does Actually Care.

Snape rolling with the punches and actually being a voice of reason.
Harry practices bug zapper instead of Mind shield mancy that I’m not looking up to spell.
Kreacher’s starring role. I’ve never felt so much affection for that little wretch, but there it is.

The conversation with Ron was like being clobbered with a baseball bat but in a good way.
That's life for you,' Ron said, his voice muffled by Harry's embrace. 'it sucks, but it's amazing. That's life.'
The bat swing

Albus Ronald Potter. I’ve taken care of it. No Bilius and it has a more rhythmic pattern.

It was great. Fantastic.
Glowstar826 chapter 5 . 7/11
This story was cold, ruthless, and dark. I don't think I'd be able to live with myself if I did any of these things. But Remus was right. It's a war, and you can't be all lovey-dovey in a war. I'm glad that Snape and Harry were able to let go of some of their differences by the end and that Harry managed to let go of a lot of his hatred. I think that, if Ron actually died in the books, tears would definitely be streaming down my face (I'm not much of a crier). Thank God JKR decided not to kill Ron. Thank. Fucking. God.
Murkatroyd chapter 5 . 6/10
This is one of the most realistic Dark!Harry/!Hermione stories I've ever read. It's been said that Ron is the heart of their trio, and this story goes a long way in proving that. Grief can drive you to terrible things, and the way your main characters were characterised, and their gradually increasing descent into the Dark Arts, was powerful: no unnecessary filler, no drama with the usual dime-a-dozen clichés for the sake of having them included, no holding back.

It wasn't without its flaws. Your protagonists got things done a bit too easily, with minimal struggle, which made it harder as the story went on to really invest in the hunts and battles they got into. The ending was abrupt in comparison. The story could also have done with a beta read to fix up grammar and such, though it was hardly unreadable, of course.

All in all, I'd read this again somewhere down the line. Well done.

Labhub chapter 5 . 5/19
Wow.
Wow
Wow

Seriously, I’m not even sure what else to say. I am a huge fam of Ron and Hermione and usually hate other pairings, but this was just amazing. Dark? Realistic given the circumstances? You bet.

This is a story that will stay with me a long time.
fireball900 chapter 2 . 5/13
That was an *excellent* placing of the PofA line. Truly sold the scene.
nemesis90 chapter 4 . 5/13
This is a cathartic tale, albeit unsettling. I had to take deep breaths at various stages. Snape's words were amazing - about not getting consumed by the very dark arts you're fighting. After all, he himself was guilty of that.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading a vengeful Harry and Hermione, though I had to skip the violent deaths :)
Iniga chapter 5 . 5/12
One of the smaller things I like best about this is the characterization of Dean. One of the bigger things I liked was Ron waiting for Harry on the other side. And you nailed the ending. Well done.
Iniga chapter 4 . 5/12
The toast to Ron on his birthday was heartbreaking. The deaths of Remus and Dean were heartbreaking. The places to which Harry and Hermione have pushed themselves are heartbreaking. But the story is riveting.
