Honestly in my opinion the worst thing in that desert is the sand. It's course and rough and irritating it gets everywhere!

Poor Jaune. And Ruby too, since she's pretty much the only one actually interested in helping him but doesn't know how.
Can't wait for the next chapter, especially since I have a feeling that Dark Mirror is going to start to have an influence on Jaune's waking actions moving forward.

I think this is an awesome story have you considered war of roses instead of just flat Lancaster I love Lancaster but this feels like war of roses to me

I’m curious, is Dark Mirror something similar to Ichigo’s inner hollow from Bleach, and Jaune will end up having to accept him as part of himself? Or is he more along the lines of being like Dark Link from Legend of Zelda, in which case Jaune will have to fight and end him?

you ever hear about the don't escape series?(games, a werewolf is the first one, creators make thought provoking games) , because that reminded of it, great work.

Oh look there's another convenient child with them as they're going into a super deadly area. This will go well.

I think the problem with this story is that it's kind of stagnant. Sure, the large-scale plot moves forward as they go from temple to temple killing the bosses and looting the chests 'Legend of Zelda' style, but the characters, bar Jaune, don't really develop at all. They've all been the same people since virtually the beginning: Pyrrha is the murder-paladin, Ruby is Jaune's one friend and the other girls are tamped down versions of Pyrrha. Past that though, nothing really has changed and this far in I wouldn't expect them to.
Now that may be by design given who these characters are when the story starts, but it kind of gets old reading line after line of the girls shooting Jaune in the back or considering killing him for some slight or another. If you have 4 or 5 characters that are carbon-copies of each other, in this case, Pyrrha and WBY, each kind of loses their importance. In film or literature, one or two of these characters would've been removed from the story entirely or killed off, but that doesn't seem to be where you're trying to take this.
I say all this to say that this story is 'fine', but it just kind of coasts. I can fully see the end of this story, all the Nightmares explode and Jaune with them and the girls just shrugging their shoulders and saying 'good riddance'. Where is the narrative payoff there? Why invest the time and care to the characters if they never grow or change and Jaune is never someone they actually care about?

I feel like Hope is going to remain in the story for a while longer. Maybe Jaune could find a healthy body to put her soul in, or being part of Jaune for an extended time allows her to become a Nightmare when he releases her.

My only problem with this story is that I would much prefer to see Ruby in the position you put Jaune in instead (like in Pandora Hearts).
