i know what vaatu means i went on countless flame wars agianst the blue rug because the world Needs choas and order for Balance and raava keeps trying to destroy vaatu isn't Balance or order ist freaking insanity!

Damn, I wonder how much conflict will arrive when Aang and Zuko meet due to Raava and Vaatu. As of now, Zuko had no real reason to go after Aang but some lingering resentment between the two spirits and the fact that he's a fire bender (and a crown prince no less) could get him at odds with Aang and the rest.

If they don't get along, I wonder who will be Aang's Earth bending teacher.

This is one of the best AU I've read.

The idea of Order and Chaos is highly interesting. I've seen it before in an RPG, which could give you very interesting indeas: wiki . ultimacodex wiki / Ophidian_Virtues

To make it short, that Raava and Vaatu opposed each other had been stupid, because way too much Order or Chaos would result in the world getting uninhabitable. It is only when these two finally learn that BOTH of them are needed, that Balance can be reached. Raava ruling supreme for 10000 years (error in the early chapters, Vaatu should speak of ten millenia) caused a great imbalance, which now manifests in the war. Both of them finally have to grow up.

The war in turn showcases the three anti-forces, an over-abundance of Order caused:

Prejudice - Disrespect for the beliefs and rights of others. The Fire Nation has that in spades, but the other nations are not innocent, either (though at least they have a reason).

Apathy - A spirit of hopelessness which retards positive action. - This happened to the Water Tribes and the Earth Kingdom. The Southern Tribe is shattered, the Norther isolationist and the rulers of the Earth Kingdom hide behind walls and leave the rest of the country to its fate.

Ruthlessness - Taking self-advancing actions without regard to the wants or needs of others. - The very root cause of the war, as very much shown by Sozin. Each successive Fire Lord showcases this as well.

What others said about Mai is mainly based on how some of the comics made her badly off-character. I think a great way to show readers her chracter would be to have her join Zuko's group as the non-bender (like Sokka does for Aang's group). She is a great and complex character, if written right, which some comic authors sadly didn't.

Ehm, a suggestion. Since unlike in canon it's not a hasty depature, please let Kanna tell Katara that if she wants to learn waterbending, she has to fight for it. Her not warning Katara about the gender divide in the North would be a bit of a dick move.

Something else: I know it would make Aang overpowered if his Avatar state could draw on the power of all previous Avatars (he and Zuko need to be the same level-wise) However, it always ANNOYED me in Korra, how the wisdom of past Avatars got lost. Raava trying to repair everything should result in Aang being able to talk to them (as they became one with Raava), but their power is lost (consequence of Tenzin getting killed and Raava trying to save what's possible). Really, it would make for great scenes like Aang meeting young Tenzin (a boy in the same situation as he is) or Zuko being confronted with Roku (something very personal).

What I REALLY wait for is once one of them does enter the Avatar state, since it will come as a MASSIVE shock to the Fire Nation that the Avatar has returned, much more than in canon (though they won't know that there are two for some more time). Should it happen to Zuko, I expect the normal Avatar shrines reacting to it, since Vaatu and Raava are just two sides of the same coin.
