Rereading this, and I know it's an old story but I just want to say it. I like how naruto is portrayed here, and in many ways he is right but he's so fucking judgemental here he comes off as a bit of an asshole. He's taking about people dying like it's no big deal, but he comes off as highly naive and childlike. True our world's/HP world's standards can be concidered 'softer', but in naurto's world the conflict isn't natural, but engineered. He's too naive/stupid to understand that what shinobi do isn't fight to protect their people, but fight to protect their pride and interests, their greed. The part of naruto that looks down on these guys makes me want to remind him how he acted in that mission to wave with the demon brothers, petrified from his fear the oh so great and powerful shinobi trained child. Plus it really is propaganda, to die for your country that way. Silly boy.

You'd think Naruto and Gaara could do it, having ancient demons inside them.

Hello, I’m just going to say that this is a review for the general way the story went, not just the first chapter.
First off, I like the idea this story uses, but I feel it was accomplished in a very clunky manner. There isn’t a lot of setting used in the sections of story for one. I feel that the end of the arrival scene in this chapter is a good demonstration of that. Specifically how the perspectives change in the scene itself from a Shinobi group perspective to the wizard one. It just feels awkward as the information that is assumed to be known changes in the scene itself and gives the setting and background right before it ends.
Furthermore, the story lists Harry and Naruto as the main characters in its synopsis, but give those two very little time as opposed to Other characters.
Beyond that, the progression of the story is kinda weird in terms of the abilities of the ninja and in general as well. Very early on in the fanfic, Kakashi tells Narurto to think of the stay as a reconisance mission and to try and improve himself, however, the story doesn’t give much indication of how that progression in skill is altered in any of the ninja from canon. Other than Kakashi casting a few spells, magic really isn’t brought up in the skill set of any of them, rendering Naruto and Gaara attending classes useless in terms of their progression. Even beyond that, a lot of bonding and character development is skipped over to immediately make the two relevant groups of students close friends immediately in terms of the reader time view.

As a whole, I like the premise, but I find the execution to be a bit lacking. It’s still well done but it could use some tune ups. I am not saying I didn’t like it, as I did read this, but rather trying to point out room for improvement.
