I'm really sad that Iroh is the bad guy so far. :( But, it does make sense. He cut his spiritual journey short, and he didn't see Ozai burn and banish his own son. I just hope he finds out the truth soon, so he can be the loving Iroh we all know and love.

Wow! I've come back to this website for the first time in years to write more of Distorted Reality and imagine my surprise to see that you're back and working on Another Brother again too! It's good to see you again, AvocadoLove! I hope you've been well! It's wild to think that this story is approaching its 12th birthday! We're becoming old parents...

I reread this whole fic again from start to finish and I remembered how much I look up to you as a writer. Excellent work all around - you've done so much to make everything in this story feel so real and tangible. And I love the changes you made to this world - just the tiny ripple effect of raising Zuko in the Water Tribes did so much to the world and it makes so much sense. It's been a delight to follow their journey all over again.

One little neat change I noticed was that Azula doesn't seem as dangerous as far as just her firebending goes in this AU. In canon, she always pushed herself to be better than Zuko, but after believing him dead for most of her childhood why should she? She's still very much a threat, but her power level seems quite different this time around. Which is good, because the gang needs every advantage they could get.

Lots of action this chapter and it was so heartwarming to see the family back together. Toph seemed to become part of it seamlessly, which I can totally see with this version of her. She got that field trip with Zuko - and it was quite the extended one!

Azula's modified speech about the divine right to rule was just as great as in canon. Love the different context involved, too.

As for the end of the chapter... I wonder if this is what Lu Ten meant about Sokka dying! Death of the personality, at least. Hopefully, if Azula really did push Sokka that far, there will be coming back from this...

This fic is just so full of twists and turns, damn.
That's a meaaaan cliffhanger. Even though I'm sure Sokka will be alright (right !?). Katara will heal him. He's not dead. He's fiiiine.

This was good when I started reading it, or I wouldn’t have continued, but now it’s RIVETING. So much recognizable plot, but done in a Completely different way. Sokka as the betrayer! What! Toph just here for the Earth Rumble, that turns out to be a play...poor Toph. But now she’s with the gaang, which is where we all know she’s meant to be. What’s going to become of all of them? I haven’t the slightest idea!
