Just wanted to say I've read this fic like 10 times cause it's so good!

A hard subject to write about, but one you embedded so well into the shinobi world that I believed every moment of it. All the while never making Shizune a helpless character but indepedent in her own right and not as one-dimensional as she is usually portrayed.

I thought Kakashi was also very well constructed here, you absolutely nailed the reserved part of his personality that really only seems to fall away when the ones closest to him are in trouble or need support. And that little moment of just going for it in front of the Hokage - nice!

There's a lovely flow to the writing that makes it fast-paced in all the right places (sometimes the parts that are hardest emotionally need the fewest words to transmit that mood) and gentle and slow in others. Particularly Shizune's gradual opening up about what happened to her and why was so well written, I felt engaged the whole time. Thank you for sharing this!

Your last paragraph killed me wtf how could you TT I LOVE the style of this and the bittersweet undertone of the concept of their relationship - how two people just happened to be brought together by a series of misfortunes and slowly learn to love again. Thank you for your hard work author!

I've read this fic I think...50 times. I just keep coming back to it, and honestly, it's one of the best Kakashizu fics I've read. I love how deep and angsty it gets, and it's so raw and honest yet such a good cathartic ending for them. Just all yes.

Beautifully written. I love how Kakashi and Shizune's relationship progresses into love and trust. Also how Kakashi becomes such a caring person for his love, Shizune, and how she removes her usual wall to hide her emotions.

Kakashi and Shizune. Never really entertained the idea until one fic had Shizune be Kakashi's therapist for the Tsukiyomi. So seeing another is nice. Quite nice. Even if the circumstances of their romance was morbid. The things kunoichi had to endure are glossed over most of the time.

The feels are running down my face... *gross sobbing* That was beautiful!
