I adore everything about this story! You capture every thing!It really felt like I was watching an episode! And I loved the way you remembered the Kusuriuri's sass! This whole ting bursts with amazing creativity and I love it!

Wow...this was quite wonderfully written! I love your interpretation of Kutsuriuri and the Golden Warrior, and this story almost seems as though it could actually be one of the actual animated versions from the anime series!

First off, congrats on completing the story. I enjoyed the story very much. The narration of the story had been wonderfully enthralling to me, much like in the real anime or manga. The only thing is that I felt that the exposition on the mononoke's Kotowari could have been further explained to have the readers feel something more than understanding for the mononoke's plight. Moreover, why it is necessary to have her be locked to keep the lake water's secrets? These are the parts of the story that could be improved.

Nonetheless, I do truly appreciate your thoughts in showing the darker side of the female protagonist's thoughts, the way you developed suspense and dread for the monks' fates and the overall efforts that you had put in writing this. Not many could complete a story, especially of an anime/manga of intriguing and artistic style like Mononoke, in the way like you do.

I just really, really, like this. The interactions between Okuni and the 'simple' medicine seller are my favourite part, but I also love to hate the four monks as well. It feels like an actual arc, albeit that I'm not one to be sure since I just read the manga. And apparently there's a longer anime...

Well, I know what I'm doing this summer.

Cool. It has been a while since I last found a Mononoke fic that interests me. I love the fact that the flow and pace of the story is well-timed. Will be looking forward to the updates.

I haven't watched much of Mononoke yet, and as such, I wanted to refrain from delving into the fandom until I'd finished the series. But, when I came across this story, I simply could not discard it. The initial plan was to keep it on tab until I'd got to watching it... buuuut.

"I'll just read the first paragraph," I said.

...I regret nothing.

Anyway. That was a wonderful read. It always pleases me to find well written fics amongst the cluster of this site. But at times it can be difficult, because when I find these well written fics, I always find it hard to review, simply because there's nothing to complain about.

And is so. This chapter is near perfect. While you mention it felt a bit trite to you, I felt as if the cliches were subtle and added more fun and suspense to the story, like the premonition dream and the spiders on the walls.

I noticed maybe one or two typos during the whole ride, which is understandable and isn't much of an issue.

What stood out for me was the description on the four monks at the beginning of the chapter. You set them apart from each other and gave each of them a defining characteristic or two while not going overboard with detail. It was done wonderfully and smoothly.

However, I'm drawing a blank with regards to Okuni's physical description. There was not a word of it in this fic, and while her back story was laid down nicely, it wouldn't have been bad to drop down a skeletal outline of what she looked like, at least.

Besides all that, it was a fun read. I genuinely felt suspense and fear when the disciples returned to the shrine and one of them was picked off with a sickening crunch. Ahh. I always love it when stories have me on edge. That scene was done well, by the way. The suspense was souly generated on how you had the monk get slain off screen, which let our imaginations fill in the blanks on how he was killed and what exactly did the deed.

All in all, I like it! I'll be keeping my eye on this. Certainly we shall meet again.
