Well, you did say that you'd try your best to not have the next sequel take three years. I guess that's technically accomplished.
That said, I really enjoyed this story. I particularly enjoyed his interactions with various non-humans. mermaids, centaurs, and such.

I can't wait for Harry's reactions when he learns who You-Know-Who really is. Unless he does. Then I can't wait for when he beats him easily with an unnecessarily convoluted plan.

God, I love this story so much. It's so much fun to read, it explores parts of the HP world that are often neglected, it's like a fairytale story for wizards. I love Dumbledore and how quick he is to understand how Harry works and to adapt - this has to be one of the best depictions of Dumbledore in fanfiction. I love how we're immersed in Harry's worldview while also understanding how other characters feel. Most of all, I love Harry in this fiction. He could have been hard to like, with his unusual skills and his disdain of wizards, but you made him a very likeable character. He doesn't abide by wizarding customs but he still respects hierarchies (his respect for the centaurs, his understanding that the basilisk could kill him, his politeness towards beings), he's a bit of a Hermione fan even when she finds him weird, he sticks by his self-imposed rules... He's very alien but in a positive way. And it's so funny to see how, because he's Harry Potter, other characters have to dance to his tunes even when they think he's barmy (Snape, Fudge, Draco).

On the topic of his elfish nature, I truly think he's not fully human at this point in the story. At first it was a delusion but he's believed it for years now, magical creatures believe it, a growing number of wizards believe it or at least give him the benefit of the doubt. Magic is partly powered by belief, right? Too many magical beings are convinced he's an elf for him not to change in that direction. (That could be how some humanoid magical species started! Or many humans are an offshoot of a magical species, and Muggles lost their magic at some point?).

Anyway, I'm ready to eagerly wait for The Home Life and Social Habits of British Elves, should it take three or five years to happen. This story is too good to be forgotten in a mere half a decade.
