Where's Appa?! How DID Sokka survive that fall?

I read this story four years ago, and stumbled back across it now. It was just as good the second time around, and thinking back on it, this remains the best Avatar fanfiction I’ve read.
I remember how creeped out I was when first reading those scenes where Sokka discovers the abandoned city, and the echoes reflecting back words he hadn’t said.
I don’t really know where I’m going with this review but I guess my point is to say that this is a very good story, reading it was a nice trip down memory lane, and you’re a talented writer. (:

did idea of cold snaps come the storms in Day after Tomorrow? even if it didn't, it's a good way to show how dangerous the south is and force Azula and Sokka to work together to survive

Sokka made Azula laugh? He always amazes me.

Seems like most the rest of the canon events happened as we saw in the show, but I'm curious if you'll have flashbacks to slightly different scenes, maybe DOBS. Looking forward to the sequel!

Amazing story! I usually avoid horror a bit, but I couldn't stop reading this. Azula and Sokka were very true to their canon selves and I adored the way their relationship developed, even more now since it looks like it will be the basis for some romance in the sequel.

I liked the tense atmosphere as they were approaching the FN camp and the surprise of Azula helping Sokka escape. Looks like both won't tell a soul about what they found.

Great talks between them. The mistakes they both made were scary. I'm glad the could fix them quickly. Azula trying to impress Sokka was pretty funny.

I loved how Sokka turned the conversation around on her and exposed the gaps in her thinking. You have a great understanding of the characters.

I like how Azula is using the pain to stay grounded.
It's good that she's opening up and I loved Sokka's conclusions and the way he just accepts them. Azula confirming them gave me chills. They got some work ahead, but I hope they're through the thick of it, at least what outside danger is concerned.

The lack of firebending is starting to worry me. I thought it was exhaustion initially. The 'intimacy' continues to be awkward. The pen pals joke was hilarious.

Azula's alien memories are so scary. The realization that the goo can't be on its own is too, but I wonder if we'll see anything of whatever else there is. I hope not, for their sake.
