and i subscribe to the theory that the vast majority of shinobi aren't actually promoted through the chunin exams. that villages generally only enter their best to show off to potential clients and to one another.

i'm withholding judgement at the moment because it's an otherwise interesting story, but the council blocking Naruto from becoming a ninja is beyond stupid. what good is a Jinchuriki if he isn't even trained how to fight? even if Sarutobi wouldn't act, Danzo would slaughter every fucking idiot that came up with that idea and keep on doing it until the council got the message.

it'd also piss off the three shinobi most likely to succeed Sarutobi as Hokage: Tsunade, Jiraiya, and Kakashi. all of whom have close ties to Naruto's family. and who wouldn't be nearly as merciful as the old man when they took power.

not to mention the greatly increased chances of Naruto going independent or defecting to another village. i'm sure Kumo would be thrilled to have him, even with no knowledge of his heritage.

Let's have a little lesson on "suspension of disbelief".

"Suspension of disbelief" kicks in at the beginning of a story. The reader basically accepts that the world he is going to be transported to obeys a different set of laws. So basically, "suspension of disbelief" justifies chakra and jutsu, bijuu, curious genetic powers and so on.

It DOES NOT justify a "council" or whatever. Your rant at the beginning of this chapter is simply a way to force readers to accept a very bad, completely unjustifiable cliché that has no place being there in the first place. It's an excuse for your poor writing. There is absolutely no reason for a "council" to exist and the fact it does kills internal consistency, a MAJOR point of any good work.

You cannot justify the Hokage being tied by a "council" so you ask readers to suck it up and to not point it out, as if it isn't a pretty MAJOR flaw. Well, it fucking is. The worst of all? In chapter 2, the Hokage (supposedly incapable to control this "council", let's remember that) proceed to threaten and intimidate said "council" to get what he wants anyway. Why didn't he do so earlier? Bad plot, that's why.

This fic relies entirely on a fucking joke of a bad cliché and it is less than mediocre.
