This has to work…this has to work , Rossi thinks as he sits on a small bench next to the United States Flag and Washington state flag that block him from the police station front doors. He rubs a finger against his temple as flashing lights blare beyond the front steps and the herds of reporters waiting of the upcoming press conference.

"We have to draw Hinders out and get him to contact us long enough to get some answers about Sara Lucy. And it'll involve a press conference and saying a few things you aren't going to like," Prentiss had told him after arriving in Port Gamble. She had put a hand on his shoulder and nodded just as explosion of panicked thoughts erupted in his head.

"Dave, we're coming up empty on all fronts. We have to try something."

Rossi huffs out a puff of air before a familiar pair of black boots appear in his field of view. He glances up to see Prentiss holding what appears to be one of the largest cup of coffee he's seen in a while. The dark haired agent takes a sip of the warm liquid before sighing, "Ready?"

"You don't look as confident as you had earlier," Rossi states. He stands up and beckons Prentiss to move ahead of him. "I know this could work, but-"

"Common sense keeps kicking in?" Prentiss snorts. "Me too. Hinders doesn't play by the rules that most unsubs would. Yes, he's organized as many revenge killers are, but he's also has an end game that we don't know he has set in store. He wants to hurt you, Dave, but for all we know, it could be as complicated as kill and torture the both of you to winging it."

Rossi winces at the words torture and kill. "I think it's more towards 'winging it'. He contacted his old work mates years ago, gave them money and then only used and killed one of them in Nevada. The other two haven't shown any clue of what Hinders will do when he gets here."

The pair suddenly stop at the end of the hallway and Rossi realizes that Prentiss had actually led him away from the open police doors. "Why are we over here?" he whispers.

"I didn't want us to be heard by anyone, police or not, discussing the case," Prentiss says, "And I had also wanted us to be alone when you tell me what you're going to say out there and what you really mean."

Jack will either have a father with mass trauma or not have one back at all and my team is being worked beyond their limits because of that bastard, Rossi thinks before he looks directly at the younger agent that he's worked with for years. There's a moment where Rossi admires the changes he sees in Emily from the last time they had crossed paths- she's calmer, more confident and seemingly at peace. I'm proud of her.

"Rossi, did you hear me?"

Rossi lets out a sigh, choosing not to look at Prentiss directly. "I'll say everything that we've been taught to say, Em- tell them who Aaron is, what Hinders has done, remind them about Sara Lucy and then…plead for everyone to be vigilant. Then I'm going to walk away and stop myself before I accidently tell the truth."

"And what truth is that?" Prentiss steps closer to the elder agent, her eyes flashing worry, concern and a bit of fear.

"That whether Aaron is brought home safe or not," Rossi mutters, "I don't know what I'll do when I see Hinders. He hurt my family without having the gall to come to me and finish this like…I just don't know…."

If you'll do something you'll regret, Prentiss thinks worriedly, watching the elder agent standing exhausted and angry in front of her. Like getting your own revenge.

Eugene, Oregon

What the hell just happened?

Morgan settles back into the driver's seat, rubbing his temples in frustration. Seriously, what the hell just happened flashes across his mind in irritation as he waits for JJ to return from the police station. After analyzing the burnt vehicle they had found on the Interstate, both agents had return back to Eugene to prepare to head to Olympia, Washington. With the car coming up with no leads and Rossi's press conference that had just ended on the radio, Morgan's ready to shoot something.

All Rossi had to do was give everyone an update and then get Hinders' attention. He remembers pulling onto one of the city's main streets, turning on the radio and hearing a rather irrational Rossi- "Jeffery Hinders is a weak man without any- ANY control right now- and his decision to take one of my men instead of coming after me reflects that! We will hunt this man down and he will pay for everything he has done to my family and those that he killed! I promise you this."

A loud slam pulls Morgan out of his thoughts and he finds JJ climbing into the passenger seat with her black duffel bag and a handful of files. She huffs out a breath and grumbles, "Blake just called and informed me that Director and the Section Chief are both pissed- they want Rossi off the case."

"He knows more than anyone else about Hinders!"

"Yeah, but an FBI agent shaking and basically threatening to harm a suspect doesn't look good," JJ replies. She pulls out her cellphone and pulls up a text from Blake. "The Seattle regional office are sending their own agents and the police showed up at their hotel room with the intention of keeping Rossi and the rest of us out of the case."

Morgan shakes his head in pure disbelief. "Where's Emily? She was with him during the press conference."

"And she feels like hell for letting him go out there. Both of them are at the police station avoiding the press." JJ pushes the radio's power button and hears the end of a replay of the conference- "Do not interact with this man if he comes across you because he is dangerous, irrational and out of control! He will pay for everything he has done."

"So what do we do?" JJ calls out after a moment of silence between them. When Morgan sighs, she continues, "We can't stay here. We can either head to Olympia where we might be able to help if Hinders pops up or we head all the way to Port Gamble. We either give up a chance to catch Hinders before Port Gamble or risk the chance of losing this case altogether."

Morgan opens his mouth to respond but a sudden ping echoes throughout the car. His gaze drops down to the message flashing at the top of the screen of his cellphone. "It's Garcia," he mutters. His eyebrows furrow in confusion. "This just keeps getting better and better. She finally deciphered some of the evidence we found back in New Mexico at Hinders' hotel room. Apparently, Hinders had additional routes he had mapped out on a page in an old book that would take him past Port Gamble through the Canadian border."

JJ mirrors Morgan's annoyance with a scowl. "How?"

"Good question. I guess we're going to Port Gamble."
