Hi everyone!

I have not abandoned my stories. I'm rewriting this story because I want to give Elsa and Jack a bit more interaction, and I also want to add more within their relationship with Emma. This story is very close to my heart because it was the very first story I posted on this website.

That being said, I never really liked how quickly Jack and Elsa came to be comfortable with one another. Therefore, I created this little prologue, so I hope you all enjoy it!

So without further ado, here is the beginning of the newly re-written Strangers Like Me!

Disclaimer: I own no one besides Emma Katherine

Prologue

Age Eight

Elsa POV

Elsa sat against the window, her arms wrapped around her legs as she cried softly. She blamed herself for hurting Anna. If she hadn't slipped, she wouldn't have struck her with her magic. She wished that her magic would be taken away, but she knew that wouldn't happen. Elsa didn't want to stay away from Anna, but she knew that it was for the best. She couldn't accidentally hurt her sister again. Elsa was so absorbed in her thoughts that she didn't notice the strange boy hovering outside her window. She looked up, however, when she felt the window grow cold. She gasped, seeing beautiful patterns of frost spreading across the glass. She looked down at her hands, which were covered by the gloves her father had given her, then she looked back up in awe at the frost again. She wiped her eyes and stilled when she saw a figure beyond the frost. It was a teenage boy hovering outside the window, holding a wooden staff, with white hair, pale skin, and bright blue eyes. He was staring back at her with wide eyes.

Jack POV

Jack wasn't sure what drew him to the strange kingdom. He had felt something tugging at him, so he followed the tugging to the kingdom of Arendelle. He flew through the streets, smiling slightly at all the children running around and laughing. He flew towards the castle, pausing to look in a window where a little brown-haired girl was tucked into her bed, bundled up tightly. Jack's smile widened when he saw the Dreamsand going into the little girl's room, transforming into little snowmen. He flew around the castle towards another large window. The room within was dark, and there was another girl sitting against the window, curled in on herself and crying. Jack studied the little girl, wondering why she was crying. He pressed his hand against the window, frost spreading across the glass. The little girl looked up, and she gasped softly, her eyes widening. She had blonde hair, light blue eyes, and pale skin sprinkled with light freckles. She looked down at her hands, which had gloves on them, then back to the window. Jack chuckled at the awe in the child's eyes, but he froze when she looked past the frost, straight at him. The two stared at one another, and for a moment, Jack felt as if he had a believer.

Age Thirteen

Elsa POV

"Stay back!" Elsa cried, backing into the corner. Her heart broke at the expression on her parents' faces. "Please, I don't want to hurt you." Iduna looked at her daughter sadly.

"I promise, you won't hurt us, sweetheart." She said softly, and Elsa looked down, tears in her eyes.

"I'm so scared." She whispered, and Agnarr knelt, gently taking Elsa's gloved hand in his own.

"Would you feel better if we went to see the trolls tomorrow?" he asked, and Elsa nodded. Agnarr gently brushed her hair, and Elsa couldn't help but flinch, not wanting to hurt her father. "You'll be fine, Elsa. We believe in you." Elsa gave her parents a tiny smile as they left her room. When they left, Elsa went to her window, sitting down with a book. She looked out the window, and her eyes widened when she saw someone flying around. Her eyes widened even further when she remembered the boy from years ago, when she was eight, who had flown outside her window and made frost spread across her window. The way he had seemed so shocked when she had looked at him had surprised her, but she wanted to talk to the boy. She wished she could open her window, but she didn't want to risk hurting him. She simply was content watching the boy fly around Arendelle, snow beginning to fall softly outside.

Jack POV

Jack returned to Arendelle. He hadn't been there since the last time he had seen the little princess, and he was still confused as to what had happened. The child had looked straight at him, as if she had seen him. Jack would admit that since that day, he had felt a bit stronger, and his power was slightly stronger. When he talked to the Sandman, Sandy had told him that when spirits gain a believer, they become stronger. Jack didn't want to get his hopes up, but he thought it was nice to believe that he had someone who believed in him. He flew above the kingdom, this time, just around the castle as snow began to fall softly on the ground below. He grinned at the sound of children squealing and laughing as they saw the snow. His gaze was once again drawn to the window of the little princess who had looked at him, and he saw her sitting by her window once again, looking right at him. Just like before, Jack stilled for a moment before he lifted his hand, waving to the girl. Her face lit up, and she smiled brightly at him as she waved back. Jack couldn't help but chuckle, and he blew into his hand, sending a flurry of snowflakes towards the princess' window, seeing her gasp with delight. Jack smiled, and he allowed the wind to take him back home, satisfied with helping the princess again.

Age Eighteen

Elsa POV

Elsa curled up against her door, her face buried in her arms as she cried. She felt Anna stand up and walk away, and she cried harder, wanting nothing more than to throw open her door and engulf her little sister in a tight embrace, but she couldn't. She couldn't risk hurting her sister again. Now that her parents were gone, there was no one to help her with her powers, so she needed to remain alone as much as possible to keep some sort of control. Elsa looked up, her eyes red, and she glanced around her room. Snowflakes were suspended in mid-air, filling her room. Slowly she stood, walking towards the one place she always went to for comfort. She saw beside her window, leaning against the cool glass. She noticed something different about the glass, however, and she pulled back. There, written delicately in frost, were five words.

I'm sorry for your loss

Elsa felt tears build in her eyes again as she looked at the simple message. She noticed something else outside the window, so she slowly opened the window, reaching out. Her fingers wrapped around something cold, and she pulled whatever it was into her room to see what she was holding. She gasped again when she saw the ice rose in her hand, delicate and realistic. She didn't feel it melting, and a tiny smile appeared on her face. She held the rose close to her chest, leaning against the window once more.

"Thank you." She whispered.

"You're welcome." A soft, quiet voice whispered back, carried on the wind.

Jack POV

Jack flew back to Arendelle, wanting to see the princess again. He had to know if she was a believer or not. He flew through the kingdom, noticing the closed windows, the lack of happiness and laughter, and the black that people wore as he passed them. He flew on to the castle, spotting a few people standing in an open field. They were dressed in black and standing in front of two large stones. Jack flew closer, and his eyes widened as he read the stones. He flew back towards the castle, looking through the princess' window to see her sitting against her door, crying with snowflakes suspended in the air. Jack pushed back his shock for the moment, and he acted quickly, unsure of how much time he would have. He first placed his finger against the window, carefully writing with his frost before blowing on it to ensure it wouldn't melt. He then shut his eyes tightly, squeezed his hands together, and began to mold the ice within with the help of his staff and the wind. When he finished, he held a delicate ice rose in his hand. He blew on the rose as well, ensuring that it would not melt. He placed that just outside the window and flew out of sight as the princess approached the window. He heard her open the window, and could help but smile when she took the rose.

"Thank you." He heard her whisper. Jack asked the wind to carry him away, and as he flew away, he paused, looking back at the princess.

"You're welcome." He said softly.

Please let me know what you thought!

I'm hoping to update this story quickly, because I don't want to re-write this halfway and then forget about it.

So I hope you all enjoyed the prologue!

See you soon, kings, queens, and Guardians!

Love,

Enchantress
