It's short but I quite like it.

Bittersweet Symphony

As she watches the lights and sounds that surround her, Cat gets lost in the sea of music and happiness.

No-one knows she's faking a smile here - because everybody else is, too. Her broken heart doesn't beat, but it does sway in time to the sweet harmonies being sung, hitting her at full force. But a broken heart is better than none.

Cat's met people without hearts, and they're not mean like Jade, and they're not kind like Robbie. They don't have that choice, because they are lifeless and empty behind the eyes.

In Cat's mind, you're nice or you're not. There's no in between. Jade's not and that's fine by Cat.

Tori's not.

But she can never put her finger on why.

Maybe it's because she's so sick and tired of pretending. Tori knows full well that she's so talented and has a voice out of this world and Cat can't understand why she pretends she doesn't know.

And Trina is just so terrible!

Andre is the only normal one, and he's fast taking off in the direction of his grandmother in the crazy stakes.

Robbie is a sweetheart but his self esteem issues match her own, and Beck is drop-dead gorgeous and he lets everybody know he knows it, but he's hollow inside. He's alone in life but for Jade and everyone, and she means everyone knows that she could take off at any given moment - being reliable is just too cool.

And Cat?

Well, she'll just sing her bittersweet symphony for the world to hear.
