Tick tick tick tick
I am a ticking time bomb about to explode.
Any second now.
Tick tick tick tick.
Dean is trying to tell me something.
He is gripping my shoulders hard, shaking me, holding me from behind so he won't irritate my wound, telling me to hold on.
Oh Dean. You don't understand. You will soon enough.
Tick tick tick tick
I feel a pressure in my temple.
The end is about to begin.
Dean
it is too late for him to save me. He is holding me in his arms, my bleeding injury is something that is not within my powers to fix.
I am about to die
Tick tick tick tick
Dean is all I care about. As soon as I die, my grace will scorch the ground behind me. Dean is resting there. I cannot allow him to bear that mark. To scar him as I die would be ironic. I always end up hurting the ones I love as I, myself, is hurt.
I feel the pulsing sensation and I know I have mere seconds. My wound throbs numbly.
I shove dean away from me. He is angry, startled, annoyed and...
Terrified
Tick tick tick tick
I look him in the eyes. He is bleeding and broken. He looks worse than I do but I am the one with only moments left.
Tick tick tick tick
"Dean."
This is the word, my last word. Said with my last strangled breath. I couldn't have picked a better word. It represents my joy, my passion, my heart. All the things that make me more human than the other angels. Dean made me human. He was my weakness. And yet, he was my strength. He made me whole and strong. Dean made me feel. I was never really alive until I met him. I thought I was, but I never knew what living felt like.
It felt like Dean.
His scent of beer, gasoline and blood is my home. His sandy colored hair and bright green eyes are my sanity. His laughter, his boldness, his temper, his compassion, his strong will, his broken heart, his triumphs, his failures, his smile, his tears, his hatred, his promises, his smirk, his loyalty, his protectiveness, his heart and his entire being
my whole world.
Dean
Tick tick tick tick
The pressure in my temple is agonizing. I see a bright light, brighter than heaven, purer than hell.
Tick tick tick tick
I hear the word "Cas!" Yelled with such raw emotion.
The light is so bright.
