Willow Tree

Lovely dreaming willow tree,

You always offer shade for me.

A chance to rest, a chance to sleep.

A chance to push the nightmares deep.

Lying down, with my eyes closed,

To the Maiden's Feast I have to go.

Mog Chothra waits for me and others,

Only girls, no men or brothers.

Mog Chothra comes and I must go,

Down towards my house below.

Appeasement said to be the way,

Deemed a smaller price to pay.

I want to fight, I want to flee,

Don't want Mog Chothra eating me.

But all I can do is sleep and dream,

As reality claws at the seams.

Oh lovely dreaming willow tree,

My time will end, of life be free.

Don't let me lie here all alone,

Let me think of dreams, not fate in stone.
