A/N: This is how I intended to finish this story, but I lost the vibe on the story after I finished the fourth chapter and never truly finished. I also lied when I said this was going to be a four chapter story.
Kate took a seat back in her chair in the precinct, back to 2009. She was flabbergasted to say the least. She was supposed to marry Castle. Castle of all people. Overwhelmed with the knowledge of her possible future, Kate laid her head on her desk and closed her eyes drifting back into unconsciousness.
Kate was awoken by someone shaking her shoulder. Bleary-eyed and groggy, she popped her head up and saw Esposito standing next to her.
"Espo? What time is it?"
"It's 8 AM, you must have fallen asleep here."
"Yeah, I guess I did. This isn't a dream is it?"
Esposito laughed. "No, of course not! Where you drinking last night or something?"
"No, I just had a very strange dream. I dreamt that I was married to Castle and we had three kids."
"Are you sure you weren't drinking last night? That doesn't sound like you … at all."
Kate nodded. "I think I need some coffee." She got up and headed to the break room and got herself a cup of fresh coffee before going back to her desk. As she approached it, she saw something gold-ish in color on her desk. Getting closer, she realized it was the gold heart with the red gemstone her mother had given her in her dream. Stunned, Kate fell into her chair again and pinched herself to make sure this really was real life.
"Beckett, you okay?" she jumped at Castle's voice coming up to her with a cup of coffee for her. "You look like you have just seen a ghost."
"I think I did." She mumbled.
"What was that?"
"Nothing." Kate said, watching Castle in awe as he took a seat in the chair next to her.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
"I'll tell you in a few years." Kate said, smugly.
The End.
