Chapter 28: Mystery Dungeons (Part 6: 20,000 Kingdras Under The Sea)

Austin groaned as he pushed a wing, which was draped over his head, out the way before he squirmed from under the Murkrow. Next to him was an Espeon and Zigzagoon, both prone on the ground. Austin crawled over and poked Ebony first before he poked Ivory, pricking his finger in the process. As Austin shook his finger with a disdainful look, the two of them slowly got up and looked around.

"...Morning already?" Ebony muttered, rubbing her eyes with her paw. Ivory yawned as well before she went over and nudged Venom with her snout, unintentionally pricking Venom in the face.

"YEOW!" Venom shouted as he stood up and grabbed his face. Ivory couldn't help but snicker at this but she quickly switched to whistling when Venom uncovered his face and glared at her. The other two silently giggled before they grouped up.

"Everyone still in one piece?" Venom asked, brushing some sand off his wings. Everyone nodded in response.

"So. Where are we heading?" Austin asked. The three of them instantly looked to the left.

"Over there. There aren't any tracks leading that way." Venom muttered.

"I'm not smelling anything over there," Ebony mentioned, poking her nose in the air.

"I don't hear anything, so let's do it." Ivory offered, her ears twitching. Austin just looked at them with a bewildered expression before he sighed, smirking afterward. The four of them walked through the opening, peeking around the corner. True to their word, there wasn't anyone in the rectangular room. Satisfied, they walked in... and immediately was ambushed by 6 Quillfish rising from the sands.

"WHAT!?" Venom, Ivory, and Ebony yelled, offended that they didn't detect them. Austin just stayed silent before he darted forward and used Pound on the first one, however, that proved to be the wrong move as Austin yelped when he ended up hitting one of it's quills. To make matters worse, Austin gained a purple tint.

"I think they're poisonous..." Ebony pointed out as Austin cringed from his ailment. Austin resisted the urge to glare at her and simply gave her a flat look, causing her to sweat drop.

"Duh. Aren't most puffer-fish poisonous? Even if it wasn't, why would you touch it? Those spikes aren't there just for show." Venom pointed out, flying over them. Austin rolled his eyes in return as Venom landed before he started charging up a Night Shade. Ivory blasted one in the face via Psybeam before she darted her way out of the circle of angry puffer-fish. Austin cringed from his poison again before he attempted to use Absorb on one of them. It latched on to him and started to absorb energy from the Quillfish, healing him of the minor damage he took earlier. He even healed his Poison ailment.

"Ebony, what moves do you have?" Austin asked, detaching the vine from the Quillfish and dodging when he fired a quill at him.

"Well, I can do what he just did." She answered as a part of the fur on her back shot out and smacked the same Quillfish that Austin stole energy from, causing him to flip on his back, swirls replacing it's eyes.

"That's... weird..." Austin said, getting pelted by a few quills afterward.

"It feels weird." She said before another Quillfish opened fired on them, causing them to yelp as they were poked by the sharp projectiles. Ivory came to their rescue, surrounded by a green shield, which effortlessly caused the attacks to bounce off of her. At the same time, Venom unleashed his Night Shade and ended up catching two of them within it, causing them to faint once the rings snapped closed. The remaining three shared looks at each other before they started to puff up, getting as big as Austin once they stopped. Ebony, Ivory, and Austin yelped before they scrambled away, hiding behind Venom afterward. Venom sweatdropped as he kept his eye on their opponents, noting they puffed up again. Once they puffed up once more, they glared at the three of them, being surrounded by a sharp blue glow for a second before it died down.

"They raised their defense?" Austin said, peeking from Venom's left side.

"Well, that wasn't as scary as I thought it would be..." Ebony muttered, appearing from Venom's right side.

"So... Do we attack them?" Ivory asked, leaning against Venom's head, causing his tufts to cover his eyes. With a gruff growl, he shook his body causing the three of them to fall over. The three Quillfish narrowed their eyes before they opened their mouths, unleashing a gigantic blue beam of energy that ravaged the ground under it. The four Pokemon shrieked before they scrambled out the way, however, they were all clipped by the edge of the beams. Ivory's back fur, Venom's left wing, Austin's side, and Ebony's tail suffered some damage, making them grunt in pain.

"THAT REALLY HURT!" Austin whined, his side a dull brown due to the heat of their attack. Ivory's back was bare, revealing her skin underneath. Ebony's tail suffered the same fate as Ivory's fur while Venom's wing was now void of all feathers, however, he used his other one to cover it before anyone got a good look. As they nurtured their wounds, the Quillfish started to puff up again.

"DON'T LET THEM ATTACK AGAIN!" Venom roared, pointing his non-injured wing at the others, placing it back seconds after. Ivory fired a Psybeam while Ebony caused the fur on her face to shoot out towards them, wincing in the process. Austin growled before he used Quick Attack to rush up to them, his tail glowing. Once Austin got in range, he jumped, flipped and nailed the rightmost one in the face where it was void of quills, knocking it out. The midmost one got assaulted by Ivory's Psybeam and Ivory's face quills pelted the leftmost one, finally draining it of it's stamina. With the final three threats dealt with, the four of them sighed in response. Austin reached into his bag and fished out an Oran Berry before he walked over to Ivory and used her face quills to cut the berry into 4 slices. Ivory sweatdropped at this before she licked the berry juice off her quill, gaining a delighted expression.

"That taste good!" Ivory said, gobbling down her slice once Austin handed it to her. Austin sweatdropped before he tossed the others their slices. Venom caught it with his wing while Ebony caught it in her mouth, nibbling on it. Once everyone finished, they were pleased to find their injuries healed.

"Great. That was our last berry..." Austin said, looking inside his bag with a disdainful look.

"What other items do we have again?" Ivory asked.

"Uh. An Escape Orb, 2 Revive Seeds, An apple, uh... that's it."

"Why an apple?"

"In case we get hungry?" He guessed, shrugging afterwards. Venom sighed, uncovering his wing and placing them at his sides before he started walking towards another opening. The other three scrambled after him, bumping him by accident. He shot them a sharp glare, which was returned with various expressions before he turned back around and crept inside, being sure not to make any noise. Once they reached the exit, Venom held a wing out. Ebony and Ivory immediately halted but Austin kept going and bumped into Ivory, getting poked by a bunch of her quills. He grabbed his mouth in order to refrain from yelping. Venom poked his head out, scoping the place out. After scanning for at least 5 minutes, he finally walked out, followed closely by Ebony and Ivory. Austin lagged behind, removing a few quills that stuck to him.

"Clear." Venom said, causing Ebony and Ivory to break off and look at the other openings.

"I'm hearing movement over here." Ivory said, near the left opening.

"I'm getting a strong smell from this way. Could be more Pokemon." Ebony offered, poking her nose into the right opening.

"From what I can see, this room should be clear." Venom muttered, looking through the opening straight ahead, his eye flashing.

"No one is following us, I think. OW!" Austin chimed in, yanking out a rather deep quill from his face. When he got looks in return, he twiddled his fingers and muttered that he wanted to be included. Ebony gave him a warm smile while Ivory snickered at him. Venom just rolled his eye.

"Form up on me. Scorpion formation." He said. Ebony and Ivory scurried over and got in front of Venom diagonally. Austin, lost on what they were talking about, just walked and idled behind Venom. Keeping this formation, they walked through. Venom made a quick series of clicks with his mouth, causing the two sisters ahead to halt once they reached the exit. Again, Austin bumped into Venom, almost knocking him down. Venom resisted to look at him and simply cursed in Arabic before he crouched behind the other two.

"Status?" He muttered, keeping his eye trained on the opening.

"I'm hearing no movemen- Austin, could you stop tapping your foot?" Ivory started, turning towards him with that last part. Austin, who had his arms crossed and was tapping his foot rather impatiently, heard this and stopped, his frown growing even deeper.

"Not smelling anything. Well, other than the sea." Ebony said. Venom nodded before he clicked again, making the two of them exit, hugging the walls. Venom simply got as low as he could and slowly moved inside. Austin sighed and followed, being careful to not bump into anyone again. Once Venom reached the other opening and peeked inside it, he clicked again, causing Ebony and Ivory to quietly make their way towards him. Austin walked towards them with his hands behind his head, whistling to himself quietly. Once everyone regrouped, they quietly walked through the opening. Once they reached the exit, they noticed two things. First, the stairs were located at the end of the long rectangular room. (Ebony could smell the air coming from the stairs) However, said second thing was that there were various Gyarados sprawled on the sand, asleep.

"Ho-" Austin started, getting his mouth covered by his own hands, Venom's wing, and both of the sister's paws. The nearest Pokemon stirred in his sleep but he simply turned over and started snoring again. The four of them stayed in this position for a moment before they uncovered Austin's mouth and backtracked slowly until they were safely in the previous room.

"Holy shit." Ivory said, finishing Austin's previous thoughts.

"That's a lot of guys in that room," Austin said, a sweatdrop present on his forehead. Venom nodded.

"Needless to say, fighting all of them is out of the question." Venom told them, earning nods in return.

"If we're in our normal forms, getting past them would have been easy. A simple rope arrow would allow us to cross easily." Ebony muttered.

"Obviously, you guys know what you're doing. What's the plan?" Austin asked, sounding a tad bit jealous. Everyone caught it, but they decided to not to question this right now.

"We simply have to move slow and quietly. Austin, follow Ebony. She's the quietest out of all of us, so she should be able to help you get through."

"Will do."

"Alright. Until we get to the next floor, we're going ghost."

"Going ghost?"

"It's basically like radio silence. No talking until we're in a safe place. There's more to that phrase normally, but it doesn't really apply here." Ebony explained, watching as Austin nodded in return. Venom gave them one last look before he nodded and walked back into the Pokemon-filled room. Since the Gyarados were long snake-like creatures, the room was almost like a maze as one slept in a different position than another. Add the fact that the Gyarados were enormous and they had little room for error. The 4 of them shared looks before they started moving through the maze. Ebony slowly stalked around, being followed semi-closely by Austin, who switched to all fours. They rounded a corner, being careful not to brush against the living walls. Sweatdrops were present on both of their faces as they continued along, the sound of snoring all around them. They saw a flash of black and turned to see Venom flapping his wings while Ivory was holding on to his talons. He had to land eventually as the extra weight proved to be troublesome for his injured wing. The two of them ignored them and focused on their own progress.

"Mmm..." A nearby Gyarados grunted, causing the group of four to stop in their tracks. It was then that the Gyarados to the left of Austin and Ebony started rolling towards them, causing them to open their mouths as if they were screaming and to start running. The pathway started to get tight, causing Ebony to fall behind Austin. At this rate they wouldn't make it, however, Austin got an idea. Looking back, he ushered towards his tail and started biting the air. Ebony didn't get it at first, but when Austin moved his tail toward Ebony's mouth, she understood. Mentally apologizing, she bit down on Austin's tail, causing him to flinch. It was then that Austin used Quick Attack, moving even faster as a white trail followed him. Ebony allowed herself to be dragged along, her limbs flailing from the speed they were moving. Once they were clear, Austin canceled the attack, causing Ebony to fly forward and land on Austin's back. A quiet but clear click caused Ebony's ear to twitch before 3 more clicks rung out. She answered with her own clicks before she got off Austin.

Austin spat out some sand that got in his mouth before he threw her a thumbs-up. Ebony smiled before she helped him up. The way before them was a dead end and they couldn't go back the way they came from. Ebony was thinking of a way when Austin tapped her shoulder, causing her to turn in his direction. To the left was the wall of coral that surrounded them. Austin walked towards the wall and gingerly touched it, noting that the coral wasn't as sharp as he thought it would be. He then started walking on it, not feeling enough pain to make him jump off. He then held his hand out towards Ebony. Ebony gave him a smile, happy that he was proving himself to be just as capable of the three of them.

Ebony walked over and after getting lifted by Austin, attached herself to Austin's back. Once she was steady, Austin placed his hands on the coral before he started crawling towards the entrance. From the vantage point, the two of them saw Venom and Ivory moving through the maze, almost halfway there. Ebony decided to send them a few clicks, causing them to turn towards them. Venom's eye got wider while Ivory looked amazed. Venom unleashed a barrage of clicks, causing Ebony and even Austin to sweatdrop. Ebony replied, which caused Venom to stare at Austin with malicious intention. Austin had no idea what they were "talking" about, so he didn't even look at them, focusing on crawling. Ebony gave them one last look before she nudged her head towards the stairs. Venom was still staring at Austin, but Ivory flicked him in the beak, getting him back on track.

The two groups continued along, making great progress. After 5 more minutes of sneaking, the group ended up reaching the stairs. Ebony and Ivory leaped off their rides before Venom landed on the ground. Austin jumped off the wall, landing next to Venom. Venom stared at Austin again, causing him to gain a sweatdrop, before he allowed a small smirk to appear on his face and gave him a nod of approval. Austin beamed at this and eagerly ran downstairs. Ebony brushed past Venom, flicking him in the face with her tail. He flinched, swatting it away before he looked at her. She clicked something with a sly grin, causing him to roll his eye. The two sisters silently giggled at this before they all went down the stairs.

Bottomless Sea- B1

Jordan yawned, slowly getting up and tipping Mr. Game and Watch off of him. Mr. Game and Watch caught himself before he hit the sand, however, beeping loudly at Jordan.

"Oh. Uh, sorry. Forgot you were there," Jordan told him. He got a stare in response before he beeped in a forgiving manner.

"Where's Ivysaur?" He asked, watching as Mr. Game and Watch turned his body to look around. He looked at Jordan, afterward, raising his body before lowering it. Jordan assumed that was his variation of a shrug. Jordan decided to look around, eyeing the various openings that surrounded them. Jordan did a mental game of Inny, Minny, Miny, Mo and ended up picking the east-most one. Mr. Game and Watch floated closely nearby, keeping an eye out behind them just in case. Once Jordan got close to the exit, he heard a sharp crack echo from the room in front of him. Jordan's calm walk upgraded into concern jogging as he entered the room. Standing there was Ivysaur, three vines waving in the air in a threatening manner. In front of him was a large blue dinosaur, floating in a large body of water. Jordan instantly recognize it to be a Lapras.

"What's going on here?" Jordan asked, gaining looks from both Pokemon.

"I was scouting around, trying to find the stairs while you guys slept and I ran into Lapras. The stairs are past her on that little island, but she refuses to let me pass." Ivysaur explained, a vein on his forehead. The Lapras snorted in return, not budging. Jordan looked past her and sure enough, the stairs were visible on a little patch of sand in the middle of the water. Mr. Game and Watch floated up to the Lapras and beeped very loudly, causing the Lapras to recoil before she thrust her head forward and assaulted him, knocking him back. A flick of Ivysaur's whip caught him and kept him from hitting the ground, however. Jordan walked over, rolling his shoulder before he got into a fighting stance.

"Listen. We've been through a lot. Now, you can simply move out of our way o-" Jordan started, a shard of ice assaulting the ground next to him seconds after, causing him to yelp.

"There's your answer. Although, I don't get it. Lapras' isn't usually aggressive. They are actually insanely nice."

"Maybe it's the dungeon's influence?" Jordan guessed. Ivysaur shrugged his shoulders before a sharp beep from Mr. Game and Watch caused the both of them to snap their attention towards Lapras, who fired another shard of ice. Jordan's claws extended before he smacked the attack away at him. As Jordan was a Water-Type as well, he had no problem jumping in the water. On further testing, Jordan noticed that he could stand on the water as well.

"Woah. This is cool," Jordan said, running towards Lapras, who shot ice shards at him. Jordan weaved and deflected the attacks before he reached her, leaping up and attacking Lapras' neck seconds after, causing her to twitch in pain. She retaliated by ramming Jordan with her body, sending him skipping across the water before he fell below the surface. While he swam back up, Iyvsaur unleashed a barrage of sharp leaves at her. She retaliated with some ice shards, causing the attacks to clash and nullify each other. Mr. Game and Watch, still bummed that his Hidden Power was currently a Water-Type, floated some distance away. A few bubbles appeared from in front of Lapras. causing her to look down just as Jordan busted out the water, nailing her in the chin with a Rage. Lapras charged him again, but Jordan brought his arms up, blocking the attack somewhat and gaining another red glow for a second. He then charged at her again and rammed her, sending her sliding across the water. She halted herself before she shot an Ice Shard at him. Jordan tanked the hit, glowing again before he went after her, attacking her once more and sending her farther. She almost attacked again but she finally picked up on his plan and stayed away, breaking into song afterward.

"What are yo-Ough... I'm getting... tired..." Jordan question, his eyes slowly shutting. He slapped his cheeks lightly in order to stay awake but his arms started to get heavy. Typhoon started to explain his current status.

"Be careful since you're Drowsy right now. When you're Drowsy, you move slower and you'll eventually fall asleep. A sharp jolt or a loud noise should be enough to get rid of it," Typhoon said, loudly. It wasn't enough to get the status off of him, however. A few more seconds of resistance and Jordan ended up falling backwards, floating on his back, asleep second after. Even though he couldn't hear him, Typhoon started to talk.

"Oh great, he's Sleeping. When someone is Sleeping, they can't do anything until they wake up. They even take more damage from attacks," Typhoon sighed, watching as Lapras nudged Jordan out the way and went after Ivysaur, causing a giant wave to build up behind her. Once she stopped, the wave flew towards Ivysaur, who twirled all three of his vines together and violently cracked it towards the wave, causing it to split apart. He separated his vines before he cracked them at Lapras from various angles. Lapras was attacked in the face, side, and neck simultaneously. Annoyed, Lapras started to break out in song again, but a swift vine crack was more than enough to shut her up.

"You can end this pain now if you let us pass!" Ivysaur barked out, his vines waving in anticipation. Lapras growled at him before she turned her attention towards Jordan, who was still asleep. Lapras gained a grin before she started moving towards him, also getting out of range of Ivysaur's vines. Ivysaur yelled and fired some Razor Leafs at her, but she was able to counter it with Ice Shard.

"Mr. Game and Watch! Go stop her! I can't fight effectively in the water!" Ivysaur told him, throwing some more Razor Leafs. Mr. Game and Watch looked at him as if he was crazy, but he ended up flying forward anyway. Once he was close enough, he started to charge up a Hidden Power, getting surrounded by a veil of water before an orb of water appeared above him. He then shot it at Lapras, but it didn't do that much damage. Lapras retaliated with an Ice Shard, causing Mr. Game and Watch to beep loudly as he dodged it. As he beeped, Jordan stirred a bit, causing Typhoon to get an idea.

"Game and Watch! You're loud and obnoxious! Do you think you can make a loud enough noise to wake up Jordan?!" Typhoon asked. Mr. Game and Watch decided to ignore that insult and simply follow his plan. He tensed up before he unleashed the loudest and most obnoxious noise he could muster. Not only did this deafen everyone in a 20-mile radius, but it also caused Jordan to snap forward, flailing in the water for a second before he stabilized himself.

"Jesus! Give a man a heart attack, will ya?!" Jordan blurted out, grabbing his chest. Mr. Game and Watch rolled his eye before he floated away, having done his part. Jordan hopped up until he was standing on the water again. Lapras twirled around to look at him before she started singing again, but Jordan quickly covered his ears and started making a ton of noise, drowning her out. While the two of them had a sing-off, Ivysaur readied some Razor Leafs in his vines before he haphazardly chucked them at Lapras, assaulting her general neck area. Lapras gagged before she was forced to gag again as Jordan slid over to her and delivered a strong shoulder charge to her neck. Lapras backed away from Jordan, unintentionally getting back into Ivysaur's range. Ivysaur let a satisfied laugh escape as he unleashed a rain of blows via vine strikes. When she turned to confront him, Jordan surfed across the water until he was close enough and jumped on her shelled back, causing her to twitch violently. Lapras was about to buck him off but Jordan quickly rubbed her neck, causing her to stop.

"Hey, hey, hey! Easy now. I don't want to hurt you anymore," He told her, causing her to eye him suspiciously.

"He's telling the truth! All we want to do is just get to those stairs behind you!" Ivysaur called over with Mr. Game and Watch beeping afterward. Lapras turned and looked at the small island that held the stairs. She looked at the three of them again before she sighed and swam over to Ivysaur. Ivysaur retracted his vines, not completely dismissing them before she turned around and motioned towards her back.

"Really? You mean it?" Ivysaur asked, dismissing his vines completely. When Lapras turned and gave him a dirty look, he clammed up and quickly clambered aboard her back. Mr. Game and Watch decided to just plop on her head, causing her to sweatdrop as she started moving towards the stairs.

"I'm ready to leave this dungeon..." Jordan muttered.

"Well, we aren't leaving until I can get up and walk around with you guys," Typhoon told him, causing him to sigh.

"Yeah, I know... I'm just a bit nervous and everything. Kimani almost got killed from his trial and Austin... uh, well, he got mugged for his,"

"It depends on who the ruler of this dungeon is," Ivysaur added on.

"Which is...?" Typhoon egged on. Ivysaur made his vines shrug, causing the two of them to sigh in response. By now, they reached the island. Lapras swam alongside it so the others could jump off.

"Thank you Lapras," Ivysaur said, waving his vine. Lapras exhaled slightly before a grin appeared on her face. She then disappeared underneath the water. Sharing looks, the group of three shrugged and started down the stairs. wondering what would await them at the bottom.

Bottomless Sea- B1

Charizard yawned as he stretched his arms, his wings mimicking the motion. He looked back and saw the other two, sprawled out next to his tail flame. Charizard snorted in amusement before he moved it away, watching as Diddy and Dylan grumbled and slowly crawled towards it in their sleep. This went on for a while before the dragon bent over and picked up the two, lightly shaking them afterward. Slowly, but surely, they woke up. The two of them rubbed the sleep out of their eyes before they noticed they were on Charizard's shoulders.

"Uh, how did we get up here?" Dylan asked, visibly confused. Diddy mumbled something, forgetting how to speak for a minute.

"You kept trying to snuggle my tail flame," He said, walking towards one of the openings.

"It was warm,"

"It's fire,"

"Exactly my point. It was warm,"

"But you wo- Nevermind," Charizard started before he sighed and dropped the conversation. In the next room, there wasn't anything spectacular. Just a rectangular room with water on the edges. Charizard kept his guard up and even moved his wings to protect his passengers, just in case.

"What's up?" Dylan asked, peeking from behind Charizard's wing.

"Nothing yet, but I don't trust the water around us," Charizard answered, his eyes darting left and right.

"You sound like Kimani. He hates water,"

"What's up with that anyway?" Diddy spoke up, finally waking up enough to talk.

"Well... Let me ask you this. Do Pokemon naturally float in water?"

"Uh... It roughly depends on who it is and their type. Most Water-Types float for obvious reasons while Rock-Types have little to no chance of floating, I can float but I have to be on my stomach so my tail doesn't go out," Charizard answered, turning his head slightly so he could be heard better.

"Oh. That makes sense. But, human naturally float for the most part. Even people who don't know how to swim technically can still float on the surface,"

"If that's the case, why does Kimani panic whenever he steps in a foot of water?" Diddy asked.

"Oh, he doesn't panic that badly with shallow water anymore. You should have seen him a few years ago. He absolutely refused to get anywhere close to water except for the shower, and even then, he did it reluctantly. But Kimani doesn't naturally float. He just... sinks,"

"But I thought you said Humans naturally float?" Charizard said, his curiosity making him pay more attention to Dylan than his surroundings.

"Normally, yes. But Kimani surprisingly doesn't. He went to a doctor and they said that his bones are denser than normal, or something like that."

"Huh?" Diddy muttered, confused.

"Hold on. Alpha, do you know why Kimani can't float?" Dylan asked, watching as his bandanna flashed for a second before beeping was heard.

"Searching... Results found. The human body is naturally buoyant, but other factors such as muscle mass, lung capacity, and bone density can affect this. Cross-referencing Kimani's body structure with given information... Results found. Kimani's body structure results. Muscle Mass: Above Average. Lung Capacity: Slightly Above Average. Bone Density: Well Above Average. Conclusion: Kimani's overall body density is greater than his lung capacity, making it harder for his body to float."

"Well above average? Jesus, I remember Kimani telling me he drunk a lot of milk when he was younger, but I didn't think he drank that much. No wonder he's stupidly durable for his size," Dylan muttered, mentally imagining Kimani glaring at him for the size comment. He giggled afterward as the image crossed his arms and faded away.

"Huh. Wonder if the same applies to us," Charizard said, completely fascinated by the science of floating. In his thoughts, he didn't notice the wall in front of him, causing him to bump into it with a grunt. The other two snickered at him as he rubbed his snout, muttering curses under his breath. He walked into the opening, noticing that they didn't get attacked before they entered another rectangular room. The other two were still laughing at him so he made his wings fold against his back, crushing the two on his shoulders.

"AGH! FORGIVENESS! FORGIVENESS!" "BLARG! SORRY! WE'RE SORRY!" The two of them panicked, groaning from the surprising weight of his wings. Charizard smirked before he unfolded his wings, feeling the two slide off of him and hit the sandy ground, swirls in their eyes.

"Ow, that hurt..." Dylan muttered while Diddy agreed with him. After a second of back cracking and head shaking, the two of them walked alongside Charizard, eyeing a set of stairs. Before they got close, the water around the stairs rippled before a pink hippo appeared in front of them. Around his neck was a red and white ruff and on the top of his head was a huge crown with a red gem in the front of it.

"Salutations, dear travelers!" The Pokemon said, bowing before he stood up, placing his hands behind his back. The three of them shared looks of confusion before they looked back at him.

"Hello!" Dylan said, waving. Diddy and Charizard sweatdropped in response while the Slowking (As Charizard and Diddy recognized) laughed.

"May I ask of your names?"

"I'm no-" Diddy started before Dylan cut him off, stepping forward.

"My name is Dylan, this is Charizard and that's Diddy," Dylan answered, pointing as he introduced them. The other two just sighed and decided to let Dylan take charge. The Slowking nodded in response.

"Excellent! Say, you lot seem to be more in control than most of these rapscallions. Might you be from another world or something?"

"Yeah! Two of us aren't naturally Pokemon,"

"I see. Well, you wish to explore the lower floor, I must warn you. The Pokemon down there are more aggressive than the ones on this floor."

"We know. We've already explored 2 dungeons before this one," Dylan said, causing Slowking to raise an eyebrow.

"Oh? So you are experienced with this then?"

"Yep!"

"You aren't scared or fearful?"

"Nope!"

"You still want to go down there?"

"Yep!" Dylan barked again. Charizard and Diddy wondered how one person could be so positive but they kept quiet.

"...Hmm. OK, you can pass!"

"Yay!"

"On one condition,"

"Not yay?"

"You must prove to me that you can handle yourselves in a fight! You see, I've grown rather fond of you three and I would hate for something to happen to you,"

"Really? But you just met us," Charizard spoke up. Slowking looked at him and nodded.

"This isn't false. But I sense kindness in your souls. As you can clearly tell, you don't see much of that in theses Mystery Dungeons. As a matter of fact, you aren't the only ones I've sensed in here."

"Others?" Diddy asked.

"Yes. More otherworldly travelers as yourself. But, if you would be so kind as to spar with me, just to ease my nerves?" He asked. Dylan went to say yes, but Charizard placed a clawed hand on top of Dylan's head, between his prongs, causing him to look up to him.

"What do you guys think? I would rather get this dungeon over with as soon as possible." Charizard said.

"I mean, he seems nice. Besides, a little sparring session wouldn't kill us," Diddy offered, shrugging afterwards. Dylan, quite bluntly, said yes, causing Charizard to snort before he turned back to Slowking, who was patiently waiting for a response.

"Sure. We could use the extra practice." Charizard said, causing Slowking to rapidly clap his hands in excitement.

"Excellent! Be warned, my friends, I tend to get carried away with my acting so please don't hesitate to stop me should you be overwhelmed,"

"Alright?" "Should we be worried?" "This is going to be fun!" The three of them said simultaneously with Charizard and Diddy glancing at Dylan afterward. He sheepishly scratched the back of his head and laughed. Slowking turned away from them, breathed deeply before he whirled around, his face scrunched into a frown.

"FOOLISH CHILDREN! YOU DARE TRY TO PASS ME!? THE ALMIGHTY SLOWKING!?" Slowking belted out, causing the three of them to jump from the sudden change of character.

"He sounds like Charizard," Dylan pointed out, causing Charizard to snap his head towards him.

"I do not speak like Ike!" He sternly said, causing the other two to laugh at him. Slowking raised an eyebrow and cleared his throat, catching everyone's attention again.

"Oh, sorry," Dylan said before he quickly jumped forward and pointed at Slowking and said in a heroic voice, "YOU WON'T STOP US VILLAIN!"

"When did this become my life?" Charizard muttered, his face buried into his hands. Diddy giggled before he got into a fighting stance.

"YEAH! WE'LL DEFEAT YOU WITH THE POWER OF TEAMWORK!" Diddy jumped in, causing Charizard to groan in protest. Slowking fought the urge to smile and simply pointed his finger at them, a pink glow surrounding it. He then lifted it, causing the area around them to be surrounded by blue and white walls. The two younger ones looked around in confusion but Charizard knew what he did and stepped in front of them in protection.

"What's going on?" Dylan asked,

"Trick Room. Be careful as slower Pokemon will move faster in this area while the opposite will happen for faster ones," He explained, watching as Slowking smirked, seemingly disappearing from their sight.

"Very perceptive of you. But even with this knowledge, how will you best me?" Slowking asked, appearing right next to Charizard and whispering in his ear. Freaked out at the sudden appearance, Charizard swung at the sound with a fire-infused fist, hitting nothing but air. Slowking appeared between Diddy and Dylan, tapping on their shoulders. Diddy screeched in fright while Dylan started stomping around in a panic, building up a spark. It was then that Diddy chopped Dylan in the face, getting shocked as a result.

"OW!" Dylan yelped, holding his face. Diddy's fur was slightly blackened and had jetted out in random directions due to the static built from Dylan.

"Sorry! Panicked!" He apologized, fixing his fur afterward. Slowking appeared in front of Charizard, shoving him before he moved to the side of him and stuck his foot out, tripping him and causing him to fall on the other two, crushing them.

"Ack! Heavy!" Dylan croaked out as he tried to squirm out from under him, unintentionally building up electricity. This ended up shocking the other two, hurting them even more.

"BY HO-HO'S FEATHERS, STOP MOVING!" Charizard yelled, causing Dylan to stop, halting the charge build-up. Charizard got off of the two, allowing them to get back up. They then placed their backs together (Dylan understandably made sure he wasn't touching anyone) before they looked around. Whenever Slowking appeared in front of them, whoever was closest would launch an attack. This went on for a minute before the Trick Room wore off. The three of them watched as Slowking jogged over to Dylan and stuck his tongue out at him. Dylan laughed at him before he placed a hand on his face, shocking him once he started cranking his other arm. Slowking's body jolted before he grabbed Dylan other arm, stopping the flow before he started spinning him around, causing Dylan to get the Dizzy ailment before he hurled him at Charizard. Dylan collided with Charizard's torso, knocking him over. Diddy launched himself at Slowking with a flurry of fist and feet, but Slowking's eyes started glowing, causing Diddy to be surrounded in a pink glow before he hovered there. He then slammed him into the ground and dragged him across the sand, all the way to Charizard, who had just got up. Diddy ended up sweeping Charizard off his feet, causing him to fall face first into the sand. (and also landing on Dylan once more)

"HA HA! IS THAT ALL YOU GOT!?" Slowking boasted, having more fun than he anticipated. The others groaned in return.

"Someone stop the room, I wanna get off..." Dylan slurred from under Charizard, still dizzy.

"...Oh. Did I go too far?" Slowking asked, breaking character.

"Nope. Sadly, this level of abuse is fairly normal..." Diddy answered, attempting to get his body out the sand by pushing on the ground. Slowking sighed in relief before he inhaled deeply and got back into character, throwing his head back and cackling at them. Everyone sweatdropped at this and got themselves back up.

"Dylan! Attack!" Charizard yelled, picking up Dylan and hurling him at Slowking.

"BANZAI!" Dylan cheered as he rapidly rotated his arms, turning him into a charged projectile. Charizard dashed towards Slowking seconds after while Diddy followed him. Before Dylan collided with him, Slowking used Psychic again, causing Dylan to float just inches from his face. Slowking saw Charizard approaching fast, but Dylan was able to twitch his finger toward Slowking, unleashing his built-up energy. The electricity ended up shocking Slowking in the nose, causing him to grab his face in surprise and pain. Dylan started falling, but he ended up landing on Charizard's back, who had charged up a Fire Punch. Once he was in range, he socked Slowking in the side, causing him to grunt in pain. Diddy jumped onto Charizard's back as well and landed on Dylan's awaiting feet, launching him high into the air. Diddy's hand started glowing as he came down. Not wanting to damage Slowking's crown out of respect, he sharply whistled, causing Slowking to look up, uncovering his face. This caused Diddy's Karate Chop to nail him in the face, counting as a critical and doing even more damage.

"OW!" Slowking yelled, falling over. Diddy jumped back to join Charizard who was ushering him back over. Dylan was busy stomping around and waving his arms, building up a charge again. The prongs on his head hummed with energy as he did so. Charizard quickly whispered something to him before Diddy nodded and gave him a thumbs up. Once Dylan was done, Charizard ducked down so the two of them could step on his back of his wings. Dylan tried really hard to prevent the energy he built up to discharge and harm Charizard while he stood up. Luckily, Charizard's wings didn't conduct electricity that well so he didn't have to worry about getting shocked.

"Ready?" He asked his two passengers. They both nodded before Charizard flapped his wings hard, launching the two into the air. Once they were at their highest, Diddy grabbed Dylan's torso, shocking himself in the process, before he tossed him at the still downed Slowking.

"NOT SURE WHAT TO CALL THIS MOVE, BUT TAKE THIS!" Dylan yelled, headbutting Slowking in the stomach and unleashing all the pent up energy he had. Slowking yelled loudly as his body twitched from the voltage,

"Well, what you did was an improvised variation of Volt Tackle," Charizard said, walking over to Dylan, who was still on his head. Charizard grabbed his foot and unplugged him from Slowking, placing him on his feet afterward. Dylan bonked himself in the head, disappointed that he didn't catch that before they all turned their attention towards Slowking, who was still on his back.

"Did Dylan kill him?" Diddy asked, Dylan snapping his body towards him.

"This was a team effort!" He exclaimed in defense.

"I have no idea what you're talking about," Charizard answered, looking the other way, causing Dylan to spaz out even more. The three of them continued to argue before the sound of stifled laughter caught their attention. Looking back at Slowking, they not only saw that he was laughing, but he didn't have any injuries located on him anywhere. It was then that he glowed white before it dispersed. He also glowed yellow before it also disappeared.

"What?! When did you activate Light Screen and Reflect!?" Charizard spat out, causing Slowking to laugh even harder.

"During Trick Room. But I am satisfied with your skills, my friends. I actually haven't had that much fun in a while! Haha!" He explained, uttering a hearty laugh afterward. Diddy and Charizard sweatdropped in response while Dylan laughed as well.

"So, we can pass?" Diddy asked.

"By all means! Allow me to heal you before you go, however. It's the least I can do after that villainous performance," Slowking offered, the others sweatdropping again as he knocked his knuckle against his crown, causing eyes to appear on the side of them. He nudged his head towards them, causing the crown to roll it's eyes before green waves radiated from the gem, causing everyone in the room to be surrounded by a warm green glow. Once it was gone, everyone felt rejuvenated.

"Thanks!" Dylan said, hugging Slowking. Slowking laughed again before he patted Dylan's prongs. The three of them started moving towards the stairs, looking back and waving once more, Slowking returning it before they started to descend.

"Be strong, my friends," Slowking said, with a smile on his face. His crown rolled it's eyes again, causing the intelligence hippo to laugh in response.

Bottomless Sea- B2

Kimani and Firebrand landed in a pile while Master floated down, inspecting the area. The surrounding area had gotten darker as they were deeper in the ocean. The sand on the ground changed from it's bright white color to a more blueish tint while the coral had turned from it's bright pink and purple colors to a more mellow blue shade. The sun could still be seen, but it was significantly smaller and dimmer than before. Master noted that the pressure didn't feel any different, eliminating any fear of the pressure being too much for them. By now, Kimani and Firebrand got up, looking around as well.

"Wow. I dig this shade of blue," Firebrand said, nodding his head.

"Yeah, right? It's pretty soothing actually," Kimani agreed.

"Well. Colors have been shown to stimulate emotions and feelings. Blue is the most calming color. But it can also make people depressed as well," Master informed them, brushing his hand against a nearby coral bed. The three of them shared looks before they started walking towards an opening, being mindful of the coral. Once they cleared it, they saw a few starfish attached to the walls while a few clams were laying on the ground, open and idling around.

"Trap?" Kimani warily asked, not exiting the opening completely.

"Most likely. I would advise staying clear of those Clamperls. Once they close down on you, they don't let go," Master warned.

"Do they move themselves?" Firebrand asked next.

"They can, but they prefer to let the prey come to them,"

"How?"

"See that pearl sitting in the middle of them? That's actually the Pokemon themselves. Some people and Pokemon would kill to have one of those,"

"And that's when they get clamped?"

"Exactly," He said, floating slowly past them. The others followed him slowly, eyeing the clams as they passed them. Master was right. The pearls inside were stunning. Kimani wanted to grab one to give to his mom, but he resisted the urge and looked forward. Firebrand, however, really wanted one and started moving his tail towards one. He forgot that he wasn't in his normal form so when we went to wrap his tail around it, he found out that his tail wasn't as flexible as it normally was. Add to the fact that his flame ended up freaking out the Pokemon and the Clamperl ended up clamping down on his tail.

"KARSHOJ!" Firebrand swore as he started shaking his tail around in order to detach the Pokemon. Master and Kimani jumped before they looked back and saw Firebrand running around.

"Firebrand! Language!" Master scolded him.

"What did he say?" Kimani asked, noting that the starfishes started squirming while the other Clamperls started moving towards them.

"Something bad in Draconian language,"

"This is not the time to worry about my mouth! Look!" Firebrand pointed out, bringing attention to the Starmies, (as Master called out) who unstuck themselves and started whirling haphazardly towards the group while the Clamperls started jumping towards them, biting in their general direction.

"WHAT DO WE DO!?" Kimani shouted as he avoided the bullet hell coming in their general direction. Master thought for a second before he threw his hands out, using Psychic to create a kinetic shield to halt the Clamperls and Starmies from getting closer. All 12 enemies stopped attacking before they backed off, causing the group to sigh in response. This was cut short when the Clamperls' insides started glowing blue while the gem on the Starmies started glowing.

"Can we catch a break?" Kimani said before they all unleashed their attacks. Master strained to keep the Ice Beams and Psy Beams at bay while the other two started thinking.

"What do we do!?" Firebrand repeated, his hands on his head.

"I don't know! This is your fault!"

"NO, IT ISN'T!"

"OH, I'M SORRY! WHOSE TAIL GOT BIT!?"

"ENOUGH!" Master boomed, aggravated from both the mental stress as well as the arguing of the two. This spike in anger also caused Master's barrier to suddenly jet out, knocking away the surrounding Pokemon. The other two looked at Master before they looked at each other and agreed to a ceasefire. Master then roughly commanded for them to press the advantage as the other Pokemon were still reeling from the sudden assault. Not wanting to annoy him any more than they already did, the other two wasted no time and charged forward, yelling as their nails grew. Master huffed before he felt a small grin appear on his face.

"While I don't like doing that, it's certainly effective sometimes..." Master muttered to himself as he watched Kimani leap up and attack two low flying Starmies with a wild claw attack while Firebrand unleashed a torrent of flames at 3 Clamperls. He then looked at the one still attached to his tail and started growling. From the inside of the clam, smoke was starting to seep out. Sweatdrops started to form on the clams shell, before he finally let go, unleashing a humorous scream in the process.

"That'll teach you!" Firebrand shouted at him, a vein on his forehead as he fried it afterward with another blast of fire from his mouth. A Starmie whirled dangerously close to Firebrand's head, but he heard it and ducked at the last second. Kimani landed and intercepted the whirling star of death with his own spin attack, running over it when he tucked into a Flame Wheel. He rolled through two more before he jumped, untucking himself and shooting an Ember at an approaching Clamperl. Master decided to finish the last two by using Psychic and slamming them together. With the room finally clear of threats, the three of them sighed in relief.

"So... Uh..." Kimani started, but Master raised a hand, halting him.

"I was mentally stressed at the moment. Psychic isn't an easy move to do. Add the fact that I'm using it in unorthodox ways and it's rather taxing," He explained.

"Oh great! So, back to what I was saying," Kimani said before he whirled around and sharply glared at Firebrand, making him yelp, "WHAT WAS YOUR TAIL DOING NEAR A CLAM!?"

"I DON'T LIKE WHAT YOU'RE INSINUATING!"

"AND WHAT IS THAT, MIGHT I ASK?!"

"THAT I PURPOSELY PUT MY TAIL NEAR IT!"

"WELL, DID YOU!?"

"OF COURSE NOT, DON'T BE RIDICULES! WHY WOULD I PUT MY LIFE FORCE IN DANGER!?"

"BECAUSE YOU'RE AN IDIOT!"

"I KNOW YOU ARE, BUT WHAT AM I!?"

"UP YOUR NOSE WITH A RUBBER HOSE!"

The two of them continued arguing while Master noted that their insults got simply and rather dated as they went on. It was rather amusing, but they were burning daylight and Master longed for his actual body. So once Kimani called Firebrand a "Poopyhead", he decided to get them back on track by tapping both of them on their shoulder and reminding them why they were here. The two of them looked at each other once more before they nodded and started walking. Master was actually a bit impressed on how fast they dropped the matter. He was even more impressed that they actually got lucky enough to find the stairs awaiting them in the corner of the room.

"This argument isn't over,"

"Ditto,"

...Nevermind...

Bottomless Sea- B2

Austin groaned as he stood up and cracked his back while the others did their own things. Once everyone was up and about, they regrouped in the middle of the room.

"Well, at least we're making progress," Venom muttered, eyeing the now darker room.

"Do we have to worry about being crushed by the weight of the ocean?" Ivory asked, looking a bit freaked out. Ebony nudged her, flinching when she got poked in her face when Ivory turned just a bit too fast.

"Doubt it. We would have felt it by now. Besides, I don't think the general rules of logic applies here," She explained, causing Ivory to calm down.

"So. Which way do we go now?" Austin asked, looking at the three openings on the same wall. Venom moved towards them before he asked Ebony and Ivory to check them out. The girls came over in and inspected the three walkways in their own special way before they walked over to Venom and Austin.

"Middle one is quiet. Same with the left one. However, there's something in the right. Almost sounds like singing," Ebony told them.

"Got no alarming scents from the middle and left but there's a smell I'm not familiar with in the right one," Ivory said next. They all then looked at Austin.

"Huh? What?" He said in response to the looks.

"Which way should we go?" Venom asked.

"Why are you asking me?"

"I noticed you seemed rather... agitated last floor when we started moving in formation," Ebony said.

"Oh. I didn't mean to get as annoyed. It just sucked being lost and everything,"

"Sorry about that. I'm not used to dealing with... rookies," Venom said, flinching as if the word physically hurt him. Austin raised an eyebrow at this while the other two laughed at him. This was shut down by a rather vicious glare.

"Well... Seeing as how we got ambushed the last time we went into a room that was supposedly silent, maybe we should head toward the room we're certain something's inside," Austin prattled on, his eyes closed and his hand on his chin. The other three listened to him and noted that he had an extremely good point.

"I can get behind that logic," "That makes sense," "I see your point," The three of them agreed, catching Austin off guard.

"Wait, really?"

"Yep. I'll lead the way and peek inside the room once we get in range. Same as last time, we're going ghost until we've identified what's in that room." Venom told him. The other three nodded and hunched down (Austin got on all fours again) after Venom. Once they were ready, the four of them crept through the corridor. Once they reached the end, Venom flung his wing up, causing the three of them to bump into each other when Ivory stopped on a dime. Venom peeked his beak past the opening and saw a familiar red carpet covering the floor. They also heard quiet singing as well. Austin poked his head past him with the other two appearing below him.

"Wait, is that Kecleon?" Austin asked, seeing a yellow Kecleon sitting at the far end of the carpet, singing quietly and looking around with an unnerved expression. When he heard his name, he yelped and blended in with his surrounding. The four of them walked out, confused about why he freaked out. Once Austin fully walked out, the Kecleon's eyes shot open once he saw the bag on his back.

"N-n-not one step closer!" Kecleon shouted, causing the 4 of them to stop. Everyone looked around in confusion as they had no idea where the voice came from due to Kecleon relocating himself, but Venom's eye flashed, allowing him to see Kecleon slowly creeping towards them, mostly towards Austin's direction. Venom swiftly stepped in between them and raised a wing as a warning. Kecleon yelled, backpedaled and ended up tripping over an apple, revealing himself to the others.

"Kecleon?" Austin asked, walking over to help him up, but his approach was met with screaming.

"Please! Don't hurt me! I don't want to fight anymore!" He said, covering his head with his arms. A question mark appeared over Austin's head.

"Why would we fight you?"

"Because that's what everyone does down here! It's just pointless violence!"

"He must be talking about the other hostile Pokemon," Ebony whispered to the others. Austin heard and flicked her softly with his tail in acknowledgment.

"Listen, we aren't like those other Pokemon. We aren't here to hurt you," Austin tried again, making no attempts to get closer but he did crouch. Kecleon stopped shaking and snuck a peek at Austin. He then looked at the rest of them before his gaze stopped on Venom, causing him to scream again.

"What about that Murkrow?!"

"Oh, Venom? He's harmless. He wouldn't hurt a fly," Austin reassured him. Venom moved forward to call Austin out on that completely incorrect assumption, only to be muffled by Ebony's tail. Kecleon looked again, causing Venom to sigh as he feigned a neutral look, (he absolutely refused to smile) causing the Kecleon to calm down and stand up, rubbing his arm in embarrassment.

"Oh. Good. Sorry about that. I'm not the bravest person in the world," He apologized.

"It's cool. What has you riled up anyway?"

"It's these darn Pokemon! They are always so aggressive in areas like this. I never understand why my brothers want to set up shop in these dangerous places,"

"Brothers? Like... er... Kecleon?"

"Wait, you know Kecleon!?" He suddenly blurted out, startling Austin. Venom went to comment on how they had the same name, but Ivory jabbed him in the side with a quill, causing him to grunt in pain. When Kecleon looked at them, Ebony and Ivory smiled while Venom just glared at Ivory. Kecleon raised an eyebrow at this but went back to his conversation with Austin.

"Yeah. He gave us these bags,"

"Oh, You mean Kecleon. Funny enough, he's the strongest out of all of us despite being the most kind," Kecleon said. The four of them collectively sweatdropped at this.

"Yes. How could I possibly get the two of them mixed up..." Austin deadpanned, Venom having the same facial expression as Austin's tone. This went unnoticed by Kecleon however.

"Well. It's an honest mistake. If you don't mind me asking, what are guys like you doing in a place like this? Don't get me wrong, it's nice to see some friendly faces for once, but it's not often friendly Pokemon are down here," Kecleon asked.

"Well, why are you down here? If you know there aren't any friendly Pokemon, then why set up business in a Mystery Dungeon?"

"Sounds like a bad business practice. You're better off holding a sign saying, "Rob me!" in big, bold letters," Venom added.

"I supply the Rescue Teams and the Exploration guilds that sometimes come down here. But why would I hold up a sign? That would bring unwanted attention!"

"No, I was being sa-"

"Anyway," Austin interjected, cutting off Venom before he said anything rash, and he was certainly getting there, "Have you seen any stairs anywhere?"

"Oh, uh... I think when I was finding a safe spot to set up, I saw them 3 rooms down that way." He answered, pointing to his right towards an opening.

"Oh, cool! Tha-"

"But! One of the rooms have a lot of traps inside, another one has some strong Pokemon in there and the last room... Well, I'm not entirely sure, but I heard a lot of noise inside. It may be a Monster House,"

"Monster House?" Ebony asked.

"Oh, You're not familiar with that term? A Monster House is a terrible room that has a lot of Pokemon inside! The last time someone's talked about one, they said they saw as many as 30 Pokemon at once, and 15 of them were Onixs!"

"Uh... well, that puts a damper on my mood," Venom muttered.

"If you have to go there, please be careful... Uh, here! Give me your bag! I have some items to make these next rooms easier to deal with!" Kecleon pleaded before he started ushering for his bag. Austin saw no reason not to, so he slipped the bag off of his shoulders and handed it to Kecleon, who scurried over to a few select items. He stuffed three Orbs into his bag and peeked into it once more before he also grabbed three Oran Berries.

"Ok, everyone come close so I can explain these different orbs," Kecleon said, waiting until they got close. He then used his tongue and smacked the left most orb, somehow leaving a faint yellow P on it.

"This is a Petrify Orb. If you hold it up, it'll make every Pokemon except for you and your friends stop moving and they can't move for a while,"

"How di-" Austin started before Venom stopped him. He smacked the middle one, leaving an S.

"This one is called a See-Trap Orb. It's pretty self-explanatory. If you're holding it, you can see traps really close to you,"

"Aren't traps useless if I can just fly over it?" Venom asked.

"Nope. The traps will trigger if it detects something above it,"

"Crap,"

"The last one," He started, leaving an SN on it, "Is called a Snatch Orb. It allows you to temporarily copy the moves of Pokemon within the same room as you."

"That could help against the room with the strong Pokemon," Ivory guessed. Kecleon nodded before he shuffled back to his spot on the rug.

"I'll be right here if you guys need anything! But... please don't bring any unwanted attention back..." Kecleon told them, turning semi-invisible with that last part. The four of them decided to just leave while they had the chance, walking through the walkway Kecleon pointed out.

"What a character, eh?" Austin said, a sweatdrop on the back of his head.

"You can say that again... I wonder how many brothers he has?" Venom muttered.

"So far, we've seen two, right?" Ivory asked.

"Yeah. But it seems there are certainly more than we know." Ebony added on. The four of them pondered about this before they reached the exit. Once Austin left the room, his backpack flashed before a metal panel with a large green swirl appeared in front of him. He would have stepped on it if it wasn't for Venom grabbing him by the tail.

"Wait. Remember what Kecleon said? This room is filled with traps. Watch your step," He warned, yanking Austin enough so he could get his balance back.

"Thanks for the save," Austin said.

"Well, guess we'll follow you then, Austin," Ebony said. Austin nodded, noting that there was also a trap to his left and diagonally left of him, leaving only the right side.

"I can already see how this is going to go. Everyone, stay in line and turn only where I turn. Every panel has a different icon but I'm not sure which does which. Venom, can you watch the back and help Ebony and Ivory since you have the best eyesight?"

"Sure," Venom said, hovering over Ivory and landing behind her. Austin nodded before he slowly started walking to the right. Once he stepped from beside the panel, it disappeared from sight.

"Wow, he wasn't kidding when he said "really close,"" Ivory commented, being careful not to step too close to the panel. Ebony had it the hardest out of everyone as the walkway was so narrow, she had to make sure her tail didn't sweep over one by accident. Venom had to hold his wings against himself a bit tighter than usual, but nothing too hard. Austin kept walking right until a panel appeared in front of him, causing him to inhale sharply as he almost stepped on it. Ivory darted forward and bit him on the tail, keeping him from falling on it.

"I didn't expect this to be so hard..." Austin got out, sweatdropping.

"Just take it slow. There's no reason to rush."

"Right. Right. Ok, from where I'm standing, take a left,"

"Uh, when?" Ebony asked, trying to peek past her sister.

"Ri- Actually, let's try this," Austin started before an idea popped up. Austin swiftly smacked the ground twice with his tail, matting down some of the sand.

"What did you do?"

"Wherever there's a turn, I'll make a small hole in the sand. Turn once you walk past it," Austin said, turning and continuing. The others followed, seeing the hole he created and following his directions. This process went on for about 20 minutes before they finally reached the exit. Everyone exhaled, glad to be away from the various traps. The next room wasn't anything too spectacular. However, the Pokemon inside was what really caught their attention. On one side was a Gyarados and the other side had a Slowbro.

"What in Allah is this?" Venom harshly whispered, the group ducking back into the opening when they looked in their direction.

"Strong Pokemon? Check," Ebony said.

"Can't we just use the Petrify Orb?" Ivory asked.

"I think it's one use only, and we should probably hold on to it, just in case we run into that Monster House," Austin told her, causing her to pout.

"So, use the Snatch Orb and get their moves," Venom said. Austin nodded before he stepped inside slightly and fished out the Snatch Orb. He then held it up and felt the awesome power of... Nothing. Austin lowered the orb, looked at it with a confused look before he raised it again. Same as last time, nothing happened.

"Why isn't this thing working?" He asked, shaking the orb rapidly. The other three noticed the Slowbro walking towards him.

"Guess we're fighting... Night Shade!" Venom deadpanned before he flew out the opening and charged up his attack. While he did that, Ivory rolled out and fired quills at Slowbro, while Ebony unleashed a Psybeam at the now alert Gyarados. The Slowbro tanked the hit before he waved his finger, laughing. Ivory was surrounded by a pink glow and started to float.

"Um! This is not alright!" She yelled as she flailed her limbs. The orb in Austin's bag glowed before he felt something in the back of his mind.

"Psychic!" Austin said, holding his hand out, a green glow surrounding it. The same glow surrounded the still charging Gyarados and he started floating. Austin then jerked his hand towards Slowbro, causing the giant serpent to careen into him. This also caused Ivory to fall onto the ground.

"Oh. They have to use a move first," Ebony put together as Venom unleashed his Night Shade attack upon the both of them, causing the rings to snap shut on them. They cringed badly and both of them got really mad for different reasons. Slowbro held his finger up, a shadowy orb appearing over it while Gyarados snapped his head back while his body waved around, causing a purple glow to surround him. Austin looked at his backpack and saw that the orb didn't flash that time.

"Can you copy those moves!?" Ebony asked, noting that the orb over Slowbro's finger grew slightly.

"No! Either it's too strong or the orb is on a cooldown!" Austin yelled back. Ebony stepped in front of them just as Slowbro launched the Shadow Ball.

"Protect!" She yelled, a green barrier appearing around her. The orb hit the shield, causing Ebony to slide back a bit, but she successfully defended against the attack.

"Thanks sis!" Ivory thanked, launching a barrage of quills at the Slowbro, however, Gyarados slapped them away with his tail before he reared his tail high into the air. Venom told everyone to move just as he slammed his tail down on the ground, sending the Pokemon flying in random directions. Austin landed headfirst into the sand while Ivory crashed into the wall of coral next to him. Venom was sent into the air, but he quickly righted himself using his wings and caught Ebony by her tail. Slowbro snickered as Gyarados reared his head back, sucking in a ton of water.

"He's attacking again! Move!" Venom commanded again, already swerving out the way. Ivory shook her head and realized that they were aiming at them.

"Might as well try this," Ivory said before he cleared her throat and made the most pitiful face she could muster. Both of the Pokemon looked at her and flinched, glowing a dim red in the process. The hesitation gave Austin enough time to yank his top half out of the sand. When Austin saw Gyarados snap out of his trance and launch a gigantic amount of water at them, he quickly stepped in front of Ivory and inhaled, hoping this worked.

"Hydro Pump!" Austin yelled, spitting out a gigantic amount of water from his mouth. The two forces clashed into each other, keeping the other at bay. Normally, Austin wouldn't be strong enough to hold Gyarados back, but Ivory's previous Baby-Doll Eyes weakened him just enough. Ebony decided to assist Austin by using Helping Hand, breaking into dance seconds after. Austin got surrounded by a red glow as the surge of water grew bigger, slowly dwarfing Gyarados'. He would have beat him too if it wasn't for Slowbro using Psychic to throw sand in Austin's eyes, causing his focus to falter enough for his attack to be canceled. He was swamped by the Hydro Pump seconds after, getting blown back into the far coral wall.

"Austin!" The two girls shouted while Venom grunted in surprise. Austin sat against the wall, swirls in his eyes, signaling that he lost all his hp.

"Ok, we need to end this now!" Venom commanded, going on the attack. Ivory followed after him while Ebony ran over to Austin, moving him so she could access his backpack. When Venom drew near, Gyarados' fangs glowed yellow and we went to take a bite out of him, but he was able to swerve out the way and assault his face with a well placed Wing Attack. Ivory halted Slowbro's counterattack by hurling sand in his mouth and eyes with her paw. While he spat out the sand, Ivory then started to pelt him with her Pin Missile attack.

"Uh... Found it," Ebony said to herself as she fished out a Revive Seed. She used her tail to place it in Austin's mouth before he glowed slightly. After the glow faded, Austin's eyes slowly fluttered open.

"Arg... What hit me?" He asked as he rubbed his head.

"About... maybe 2. 3 tons of water?" She answered, shrugging afterwards. Austin's face dropped but he quickly got up and shook himself dry. (Or at least as dry as he could underwater)

"Go down already!" Venom growled, nailing Gyarados with another Wing Attack. The water serpent simply coated his tail in wind before he blew Venom away with a swing of his tail. Venom caught himself and slid across the ground on his talons, ending up next to Austin and Ebony.

"Won't go down?" Austin asked, doing his best not to snicker at the look Venom gave him.

"They have too much HP. Are you sure we can't use the Petrify Orb more than once?"

"No, but do you want to take that gamble?"

"...Fair point. I'll just kill them with my disappointment." Venom deadpanned as he dashed toward Gyarados once again, avoiding some tail sweeps. Austin and Ebony shared a look before they shrugged. Ebony broke out into a vigorous two-step, causing Austin to glow red. Once Austin got close enough, he slapped the ground with his tail, launching him into the air. Venom, who was currently flapping his wings and squawking loudly at Gyarados, eyed Austin as his tail grew twice his size.

"Yeah, that might work better than what I'm doing..." Venom said, gliding back down to the ground as he couldn't stay airborne anymore due to his wing. Austin then flipped and brought his tail down heavily on the top of Gyarados' head, causing it to snap down and crash into the ground. When the sand cleared away, Gyarados has swirls in his eyes.

"Finally! Ebony, buff me up next!" Ivory yelled, causing Ebony to roll her eyes before she started break dancing, giving Ivory a power boost. She then aimed her body and watched as the quills on her side started spinning dangerously before they fired, hitting him with such force that the shell on his tail popped off. Without his brain, Slowpoke sat there, confused as on why he was even there in the first place before he got up and wandered past them. The four looked at him in confusion as he walked through the opening towards the trap-filled room.

"Uh.. Should w-" Austin started before an explosion cut him off.

"I think he's fine," Venom told him, already moving towards the other exit. The other three sweatdropped before they followed him. Once they cleared the opening, they saw the stairs at the far end of the rectangular room.

"Thank God. We're so close to leaving," Austin sighed, walking into the room. This proved to be a bad idea as the collective roar of various Pokemon rung in everyone's ears as what seemed like a million Pokemon rained from above. Once Venom scolded Ivory and Austin for the over-exaggeration, he told them that it was actually 50 Pokemon that had spawned. They gave him a dirty glare in response.

"WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!? STUN THEM!" Ivory screeched in Austin's ear. Half deaf, Austin quickly fished out the orb and raised it up. But before it could activate, a rouge Starmie collided with the orb, knocking it out of his hand.

"SHIT!" Austin said as he dove for it, only to be yanked back by Venom as a Wailord flopped in front of him, crushing the orb.

"Uh, what now!" Ivory yelled, watching as they slowly got closer. Venom closed his eyes before he thought of a plan. Without a word, Venom pushed Austin onto all fours before he perched himself on his head, being mindful where he placed his talons.

"Excuse yo-" Austin started before Venom cut him off.

"Everyone hop on Austin! Ebony, supercharge him again! Austin, start running and follow my directions!" He quickly got out. Ivory wasted no time dog piling on Austin's back while Ebony leaped next to her sister, ignoring the poking her side was receiving. Austin puffed at the amount of weight on his back. Ebony didn't have enough space to dance, so she decided to start scatting vigorously. This ended up fulfilling the conditions for Helping Hand and Austin was surrounded by a red glow, causing him to be strong enough to carry his passengers.

"RUN!" Venom barked out, cawing in surprise when Austin started bolting forward, a white streak following him. Ivory and Ebony focused on holding on, screaming while Venom focused on the road ahead.

"LEFT!" Venom yelled, causing Austin to move left, avoiding a whirling Starmie as well as an Ice Beam from a Remoraid.

"GO RIGHT! GO RIGHT!" He shouted again, almost falling off when Austin careened to the right, dodging a body slam from a Wailmer. Venom looked ahead and saw various beams flying towards them.

"EB-"

"PROTECT!" Ebony shouted, cutting Venom off as a green barrier surrounded the group, protecting them from the various beams. Austin leaped out the dust cloud with a grunt, breaking towards the stairs again.

"JUMP!" Venom barked out once more, causing Austin to hurdle over a low tail sweep from a Gyarados. On the other side of the tail were some Clamperls ready to catch his landing, but Venom held his wings out, catching the air and allowing Austin to glide over them. Once they were clear, Venom closed them, allowing Austin to run again. From behind, a few Starmies whirled after them, but Ebony and Ivory were able to fend them off with a few well-placed Pin Missiles and Psybeams. Austin puffed and panted as he continued to weave through the dangerous crowd, avoiding numerous amount of attacks. One time, Venom had to leap over a tail swipe while Austin slid under it. He would have gotten left if it wasn't for Ebony snagging him with her tail. However, Venom was now being dragged in the sand against his will.

"HOW! MUCH!... FURTHER!?" Venom got out, grunting in pain while Ebony tried her best to pull him closer.

"AL...MOST... THERE!" Austin got out, his eyes watering slightly due to how fast they were moving. The stairs were now clearly visible but a Wailord, Lapras, and Gyarados stood in his way.

"WE DON'T HAVE TIME FOR YOU! MOVE!" Ivory barked out, her voice getting 3 times louder. The sound waves actually knocked over the Gyarados, causing the other two to look at him in surprise. Austin used this moment to leap at Lapras' face. He leaped off her (Venom swatted her as he flew past her simply because he could) before he landed on Wailord's back, sliding down due to how slippery his blubber was. Once they reached his tail, Austin jumped off. However, Wailord was able to swat them with his tail, knocking them into the air, separating them. The 4 of them yelled as they went tumbling towards the stairs. As they rolled towards the stairs, all the Pokemon dove for them. The group of 4 stopped rolling just inches from the stairs, dazed. When Ivory came back to her senses and saw they various threats diving towards her, she screamed, causing her Hyper Voice attack to activate again. The force of her voice pushed her into the others, sending them tumbling down the stairs, seconds from being grabbed.

"BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME, NERDS!" Venom yelled back at them before darkness surrounded them.

Bottomless Sea- B2

Charizard got up, noticing the other two were back on his shoulders, wide awake.

"Well, you guys certainly didn't waste any time," Charizard said, an amused look on his face.

"I'm starting to get used to these landings," Diddy told him. Dylan mentioned that he simply landed on him, causing him to roll his eyes. Charizard started stomping towards an opening, noting the change in scenery.

"Well, It's getting darker. There's more blue around us."

"There's a Kecleon in front of us," Dylan interjected.

"There's an- Wait, what?" Charizard repeated, stopping once he realized what Dylan said. True to his word, a blue Kecleon was standing in front of him, sighing before he simply laid in front of them, closing his eyes.

"Alright. Make it quick..." He said. The three of them shared confused looks before Dylan leaped off Charizard's shoulders and landed next to Kecleon.

"Make what quick?" He asked.

"My end. That's why you're here, right?" He sighed out, opening one of his eyes halfway.

"No! We're trying to find the stairs so we can go help our friends!"

"Friends... I remember having those..." He dramatically said, heaving a mighty sigh afterwards as he turned away from them. Charizard's expression dropped several levels while Diddy felt sympathetic. Dylan just laughed at him.

"You're pretty funny! How could someone like you not have friends?!" He asked. Once again, Charizard and Diddy shared looks before they let Dylan take charge again.

"Apparently I bum people out. But, it's not my fault I see the bad in everything,"

"That's why friends are important! They help balance out your flaws!"

"How?"

"Well, I'm sure your friends are more... Positive than you, right?"

"Sadly, yes. No idea how they do it,"

"Easy! Because they know they have friends! I'm sure they appreciate you as well!"

"Doubt it," He shrugged. Dylan patted him on the shoulder, causing him to look over towards him.

"Nonsense! Would you like to be friends?" He asked. Kecleon sighed.

"I don't think you want to sign up for this,"

"I do!"

"Might as well say yes. You aren't going to change his mind," Charizard pointed out. When Dylan bluntly said, "Nope!" Charizard snorted before he started chuckling. Kecleon sighed before he stood up.

"Alright, I suppose it wouldn't be the end of the world," He muttered, his facial expression not changing when Dylan picked him up, hugging him. He didn't even flinch when he got repeatedly shocked by him. Once he set him down, Kecleon sighed and shuffled over to his carpet.

"You guys are free to take whatever. I don't really care enough to charge you for it," He muttered, laying down again while uttering a loud sigh. Diddy and Charizard sweatdropped as they watched Dylan snag some more Oran Berries and a few Apples. He even picked up a few seeds as well, but he didn't know what they did.

"Careful with those Blast Seeds. They explode easily..." Kecleon told them without even looking. Stuffing the items into his bag, he smiled towards the others who simply followed after him. Once Dylan went through the opening, Kecleon sighed again, causing the other two to look at him.

"...I'll admit. He's pretty cool..." He emotionlessly told them, causing the others to smile as they followed after him. In the next room, a pool of water was in front of them but the edges were pretty big. From the water emerged 2 Kingdras, who wasted no time in launching bubbles at them. Dylan immediately started moving towards them, eager to pop them. With a repressed sigh, Charizard held him back, shaking his head. Dylan pouted as they moved away from the bubbles.

"What's so dangerous about the bubbles? I've never understood the logic behind it," Diddy asked as he limbo-ed under a few close ones.

"No idea. It just hurts," Charizard answered, yelping when a few hit him in the wing. The others looked at him in confusion but didn't comment on it. Dylan started his usual dance of various limbs, building up a charge while Diddy started booking it towards them. When Diddy got close enough, he lept towards them and attempted to Karate Chop them, but this ended up not working when they dove into the water. Diddy almost fell in, but Charizard swooped from above and caught him before he did.

"Thanks for the assist!"

"No probl- Wait, what is Dylan doing?" Charizard started, watching as Dylan waltzed up to the pool of water and stuck his finger into it, causing a gigantic amount of electricity to surge into the water. Once it died down, the two Kingdras floated back up, X's present in their eyes. When he noticed the two's wide-eyed looks on their faces, Dylan shrugged and simply said "Super effective" before he continued as if nothing happened. The other two simply blinked before they followed after him. Once they exited the room, they were face to face with 3 Gyarados'. Diddy almost immediately fainted while Dylan hid behind Charizard. Charizard noticed that the stairs were also in this room and while he was more than capable of handling them, he didn't want to put the others in danger. He was in the process of moving back to the previous room before he suddenly got an idea.

"Dylan, hand me those Blast Seeds!" He barked out, holding his hand out. Dylan wondered why he wanted them as he reached into his bag and handed all 3 seeds to him. Without wasting a moment, he placed all them in his mouth then looked straight ahead. Inhaling deeply, he unleashed his Flamethrower attack, the seeds exploding and causing his attack to grow at least 4 times larger than it usually was. The heat of the attack caused Dylan to cover his face in discomfort and also snapped Diddy awake as he crawled behind Charizard. Once the attack died down, Charizard rubbed his throat in minor discomfort but he grinned at his handiwork. Before him was the room covered in a layer of black soot. The sand now sparkled a bit as some of it turned into glass and the 3 Gyarados' were covered in soot. They all blinked before they passed out seconds after.

"Jesus! That seems like a bit much!" Diddy exclaimed from behind Charizard's wing.

"That was cool! Well, not literally, but still!" Dylan yelled, his eyes turning into stars briefly before they turned back to normal when he placed his hand where his chin would be. Charizard uttered a chuckle before he stomped towards the stairs, the others close behind.

"Another level done," Charizard muttered.

"What's on the third floor?" Dylan asked.

"How should I know?"

"Haven't you been here before?"

"No! I've been in Mystery Dungeons before, but I've never been in this particular one,"

"Why?"

"Uh... Not a fan of being underwater,"

"Oh, right," Dylan said, sweatdropping. The three of them nodded before they walked down the stairs.

Bottomless Sea- B2

Jordan pulled his head out of the sand, knocking the sand out of his head. Looking around, he saw Ivysaur digging around the sand with his vines.

"What's going on? You OK?" Jordan asked as he moved over towards him.

"Uh... Yeah. I'm fine. It's Mr. Game and Watch that's not," He answered, turning towards him. His vines continued to move by themselves, still digging.

"Where is he?"

"Somewhere in the sand," He told him. As he said that, faint beeping was heard underneath.

"How did he even get there?"

"I might have landed on him when we went down," He sheepishly said, ignoring Jordan's look and simply going back to digging. Jordan took the time to notice the different scenery before he walked over to an opening, peeking inside the hallway. There was a turn inside it, so he obviously couldn't see anything, but he did hear a few scuffling sounds, causing him to raise his guard a bit. By now, Ivysaur's vines had located Mr. Game and Watch and yanked him out. Mr. Game and Watch announced his disappointment with a shrill beep that made both of their skin tingle. Jordan looked back at the two of them before he started moving through the opening, signaling for the others to follow him. Once he rounded the corner, he could see into the next room, which had a few Starmies whirling around the room.

"Starmies, eh? Shouldn't be a huge problem," Ivysaur said, peaking past him. Mr. Game and Watch hovered above him, uttering a low sounding beep. Jordan assumed he was sighing and he agreed with him. He couldn't wait to be done with the dungeon and return to his normal body.

"Aren't you forgetting someone?" Typhoon interjected.

...Also, allowing Ty to exist would be a pretty good bonus however.

...Although, the first reason was more than enough for Jordan.

"Stay out of my thoughts, Ty," Jordan said with an amused look. As soon as he walked in the room, he noted that it was 4 Starmies whirling around haphazardly. The enemies almost immediately noticed him and whirled towards him dangerously.

"Oh no you don't! Get them boys!" Ivysaur commanded, sending his vines after them. Once they reached the first three, they tried to wrap around them and stop their movement, but they were spinning so fast, they simply got tangled and the vines ended up getting yanked from Ivysaur, causing him to release a high pitch squeal. Jordan winced before he avoided the first two and blocked the other one with his claw. However, one of his claws broke during the second block, causing him to yelp sharply.

"Ow! Jesus! How fast do they spin!?" Jordan swore, shaking his wounded hand.

"I don't remember off the top of my head, but apparently it's faster than I thought," Ivysaur said, focusing on regrowing more vines. Mr. Game and Watch beeped, attacking one of them with a Hidden Power. The attack ended up whiffing and simply hit a wall of coral.

"So, hitting them is apparently out the question," Typhoon deadpanned. Jordan growled as he avoided another pass. During his backstep, he ended up bumping into the coral, getting temporarily stuck when his tail got caught by the coral. Once he freed himself, he got an idea. Sharply whistling, he caught the attention of a Starmie as the others decided to assault Ivysaur, who regrew his vines and started waving them randomly while Mr. Game and Watch floated above his bulb and fired at whoever got too close. Once the Starmie got close enough for Jordan to feel the current shift, he ducked down and heard a loud crunching noise. When he looked behind him, he saw the Starmie embedded into the coral, struggling in freeing itself.

"Hah! Not so clever now, are you!?" Jordan shouted, moving over to the others, who were still swinging at the Starmies overhead.

"Will you cut it out!?" Ivysaur yelled, his hands over his head while his vines continued to wave into the air. Another Starmie flew into it and ended up ripping another vine off. Ivysaur yelped once more, getting angry. Out of rage, he ended up snagging one and flicking them into the wall. He ended up landing next to the other Starmie in the wall. Mr. Game and Watch floated up and unleashed Hidden Power, surrounding himself in a veil of water. However, instead of shooting a ring forward, he caused the ring to expand from around him, clipping the Starmie and causing his rotation to slow enough for Ivysaur to snag him with his vine. He then launched him into the coral wall, along with the others. Jordan slowed the last one by glowering at it, causing it to slow down once it's attack went down. He then clashed with it, blocking it's advances with his nails and allowed Ivysaur to grab hold of it before he threw it with the rest.

"Finally. Lets get out of here before they free themselves," Ivysaur said, his vines retreating back into him. The other agreed and quickly scurried away towards the nearby opening. Before they barreled into the next room, Jordan stuck his face out, looking both ways just in case. To his satisfaction, there were no enemies inside.

"It's clear," Jordan told the others, fully walking inside afterwards. Like the others, this room was your average square shape, but there was a large pool of water in the middle of the room. Jordan, rather stressed, decided that a dip wouldn't kill him and jumped into the water, feeling his tension melt almost instantly.

"Enjoying yourself?" Typhoon asked. Jordan pulled his face out the water, flashing a smile.

"Yeah, a little. Forgot how relaxing swimming is," He answered, floating lazily on his back for a minute while Ivysaur and Mr. Game and Watch idled by, taking the moment to relax as well. They sat for about 5 minutes before Jordan went towards the edge and pulled himself up, shaking off the excess water before he moved towards the next opening, the others close behind. In the next room, a Slowbro was moving around, clapping for no reason while a few Starmies spun around, surveying the area. The stairs were also located in the room as well. Everyone resisted the urge to groan, opting instead to burst into the room and use their strongest attack almost immediately on Slowbro. Slowbro turned around in curiosity, only to be assaulted by a beam of sunlight, a gigantic burst of water and a few solid rings of water. The surprise attack ended up knocking him out, causing the two Starmies to sweatdrop once the group shot them dirty glares. They decided that they proved their points rather clearly and left the room as fast as they could. Jordan and Ivysaur shared looks before they shrugged and went towards the stairs while Mr. Game and Watch looked pleased with himself. The three of them crowed by the stairs, the fear of the unknown causing them to tremble slightly.

"Now is not the time to get cold feet. Whatever is down there is no match for us, so get going!" Typhoon barked out. Jordan had no idea if he was being genuine or if was just the fact that he wanted a body. But either way, it helped. Jordan smirked as he took the first step down towards the darkness, causing the others to follow after him. Genuine or not, Typhoon had a point. Whatever or whoever was down there was no match for them.
