"The fact you're leaving tomorrow pisses me off a little." Anthony said as they left the movie theater, Felix laughed in response, and wrapped an arm around Anthony's shoulders.
"Think about this way," Felix begin, stepping away from Anthony and in front of Ian and him, "I'll be in Florida, and you two will have some alone time."
Ian rolled his eyes, "When we make cookies, I'm going to text you, and tease you about how good they are." He said, with laugh, "You're going to be so jealous."
"I'll be peanut butter and fucking jelly, I'm sure." The blonde agreed.
The tallest of the three frowned, "Wait..wait..Ian, since when do you have his number?"
"Exchanged last night," Ian said pulling on his hoodie, "Said I should play some TTT with him and some friends, sounded like fun."
Felix flashed Anthony a knowing smirk, and Anthony cursed mentally, "So, when do you have to be at the airport tomorrow?" He asked in attempt to move the conversation.
"Flight leaves at 10." Felix said, letting the conversation drift in another direction.
Ian laughed, "You know, Florida isn't that exciting, I was there for Thanksgiving."
Felix spoke as they all headed towards the parking lot, "It's fun if you're there with the right fucking people." Anthony looked at Ian, expecting him to flip, or look angry but instead he laughed and patted Felix's back.
"Who are you visiting?" Anthony asked.
Felix paused and stretched, Ian walked forward some and stuffed a dollar into a soda machine, "I'm visiting my friend Cry." Anthony frowned, and tilted his head, "His name is Ryan. Cry is his username on steam, sorry." He laughed. Ian rejoined them, sipping his coke.
Felix snatched the can from him and took a gulp, Ian frowned, trying to snatch it back, "Asshole!"
The blonde laughed, "You want some, Anthony?"
"Hell yeah!" Anthony grinned taking the bottle and chugging some.
Ian scoffed, folding his arms over his chest, "Real mature, you guys are douchebags!" A few girls walked pas them, giggling, Anthony blushed and watched them. Ian took the chance to snatch the bottle with a triumphant, "Ha!" Anthony rolled his eyes.
"I bet you're into the girl on the right." Felix said as the girls stopped at the soda machine, he leaned against the wall with a smirk. Anthony raised an eyebrow and examined her. She was the shortest, bob cut with ash brown hair. She had a smile on her lips as she talked to her friends. She wore jeans, and a sweater. She was cute, but Anthony wasn't that interested. He gave Felix a curious look, and the blonde winked, and motioned to Ian. Anthony frowned more, and Felix rolled his eyes, pulling his phone from his pocket.
"Are we just gonna stand here all night?" Ian complained with a yawn, rubbing an eye lazily, "I kinda want a blanket, we should watch few movies when we get back to your place!"
Suddenly, the group of three girls were in front of them giggling. Felix's phone was gone, and he was standing behind Ian, friendly smile on his face. The one in the middle brushed his blonde bangs from her face, "Sorry to bother you guys, you all seem really cool! But we think you guys are totally cute." She rubbed her arm nervously, but the look in her eyes didn't hint she was nervous, "Especially you." She looked at Ian, and the two others giggled again.
Ian smiled, giving a hearty laugh, "Oh, ladies that's sweet. I'm glad you think that way." He gave a little bow, and Anthony laughed himself, Felix smiling ad running a hand through his own hair.
"Do you want our numbers?"
"All three of you? Why, that doesn't seem right at all!" Ian said, standing up straight, "And besides, I'm gay."
All three girls were so shocked they froze. Anthony felt himself freeze too, but Felix bursted into laughter, slapping Ian on the back. One of the girls, who's hair was up in a pony tail frowned, "You're gay? Are you all gay?" She had an attitude in her voice, and something flashed in her eyes.
Anthony frowned, fists tightening and he opened his mouth to defend Ian, but he was shocked when he heard Felix's voice first. "Fuck yes." His arms snaked around Ian's waist from behind him, and he nudged his nose against Ian's cheek. He whispered, voice dropping, "You got a fucking problem, asshole?" Anthony felt something snap inside him as he stared in shock, he didn't like that Felix was doing that.
Two of the girls blushed and looked at each other, the pony tailed girl just rolled her eyes, "Bull. Look, if you don't want to date us, say something. Don't bash gays to get out of a phone number."
Felix frowned, and rolled his eyes. Ian scoffed, "And who the hell do you think you are?" He removed Felix's arms, and stood up straighter, "Walk away, you don't know anything. Don't be so ignorant to think a couple of teenage guys would be douches. I am gay. And you—"
"Wh-What he's trying to say is," Anthony broke through, stepping froward and smiling awkwardly, "We're all either gay, have a girlfriend, or interested in another person. So, thanks, but no thanks."
The pony tailed girl scoffed and stomped away. The blonde girl following behind, the ash brown haired girl smiled awkwardly, "I-I'm sorry about her, she doesn't take rejection well." She walked away.
When she was gone, Ian smacked Felix upside the head, blush apparent on his face, "Don't ever do that again!" He breathed out angerly. Anthony smiled, and chuckled quietly.
Felix laughed too, "Why not? Am not emo looking enough for you?"
"That's it." Ian said, pulling off his hoodie and throwing it at Anthony, "I'll give you a ten second head start. Run, Swedish boy." Ian crackled his knuckles, "One, Two, Three."
Felix laughed, and Anthony shook his head, "The car is that away." He pointed.
"I'm not fucking running, what the fuck is he going to me?"
"Four, Five."
Anthony blinked, "Go."
"Six, Seven."
Felix raised an eyebrow, but panic was apparent on his face as he tried to play it cool. He shrugged his shoulders, "Well I guess it's about time you started chasing after me. I mean, you've been giving me flirty looks every since you saw me." Ian froze in shock, Felix looked at Anthony, "He even tried fucking holding my hand in the theater."
Anthony frowned, "Ten." Ian looked at him for a moment, then smirked, nodding. They both lunged at Felix. Anthony holding him on the cool sidewalk, while Ian ran his fingers over his skin, tickling him.
"Fucking hell!" Felix said through breathless laughs, "I'm g-gonna fucking piss myself! Wh-What kind of torture is this! You fucking p-p-pussies!"
Oooooooo
"Are you going to miss him?" Ian asked. They were in Anthony's dad's kitchen, making the cookies. They drove Felix to the airport hours ago.
"I always miss him a little." Anthony admitted, rolling the dough. Even though he was a little angry at him. Pulling that move on Ian, saying that the ones girl looked like she could've been Ian's bangable twin sister. Making endless jokes the whole night when Ian passed out on him last night. It wasn't fair. "A little." He repeated.
Ian laughed, rolling the cookies into small balls, "Besides the teasing, he seems cool. Well, the teasing and the cursing."
"He's always cursed like that. Even in middle school." The darker haired boy laughed.
Ian finished setting the balls of dough on the pan, and he moved to the stove and slid the tray in. Anthony shifted on the stool and Ian stretched before resting his elbow on the counter and laying his head in the palm of his hand, he watched Anthony lazily as he use the cookie cutter to make a Christmas themed batch of the sweets, "I'm kind of glad you interrupted most of the teasing." He said in a gentle tone.
The tone made Anthony a little uneasy and he shifted again, "Why's that?"
"Well..." Ian leaned a little closer to Anthony, "I guess I didn't want a certain confession spoiled." Anthony blushed, and looked down at his cookies. He wasn't sure what to say. He had a feeling Ian knew about his, what would you call it? Crush? It didn't feel like a crush, but regardless, it didn't make the moment any less embarrassing, "I'm not mad, if you think so. I actually think it's a little cute." Anthony groaned, and hid his face in his hands. He thought it was cute? That's worse possible thing Anthony could think of. Cute wasn't going to make Ian his boyfriend. They were both silent for a few moments, Anthony to sacred to looked at Ian, and Ian not sure what to say. After a few more minutes, Ian spoke up, "Do you know why I can't date you?"
Anthony sighed, and removed his hands from his face, and he took the chance and glanced at Ian, "Is it because of David?" It had to be. With them just breaking up from a long relationship. It didn't mater if it was open, or closed, or noncommittal. It was a relationship regardless, and there were strong feelings in that relationship.
Ian smiled some, "No..no, it's not David." At Anthony's shocked expression Ian laughed, "Actually, it's the fact you're straight."
Anthony frowned, "What?"
"You're not gay." Ian said, frowning, "Hell, you're not even bisexual, and I don't want to be some bi-curious experiment with someone I really care about." He said plainly, "I don't wanna be hurt."
Anthony shrugged, "I...Do I need to be labeled?" He sighed, "I'm not gay. I don't like guys I know that for sure, but, I do like you." He looked at Ian, and he felt his heart clench a little, "Sure, it hasn't been that long, I'll admit, but I know that what I want from you is not an experiment."
Ian was quiet for a few moments, "I'm not saying I don't like you back, and I'm not pressing you to make some life changing decision, but what I am saying is, that maybe you should...well... try to move on."
Anthony was quiet for a few moments as he glared down at his cookies. So, this was it. What was even the point of him having hope that he'd have a chance with Ian? It was like he was just being set up for failure. Ian didn't want to be with him. Although, Anthony couldn't blame him, he could see why. There was so much wrong with him, especially compared to David. Hell, comparing him to David he was like a speck of dust.
Ian sighed, "Don't be angry with me."
"I'm not." Anthony muttered, taking the cookie cutter and cutting more shapes. Although, he kind of was angry. Why couldn't Ian at least try? It wasn't fair on him.
Ian's hand slid on his shoulder, and he sighed softly, "Anthony. We've got something great in this friendship."
Anthony nodded, and turned in his stool, "We do." He looked at Ian, and smiled sadly. Ian looked sad too, he wondered if it was because he felt bad for him. Anthony stood up, and took the tray in his hands, "I'm okay with it as long as you promise to stay my mega best friend."
Ian chuckled, and nodded, "I promise." Anthony nodded and walked to the stove and put the cookies in with the others, he walked to the sink then, and washed his hands. When he turned Ian was in front of him, "Thanks for being understanding, Anthony."
Anthony blushed a little, but smiled, "Of course." Ian lifted himself on his tiptoes and pressed his lips to the corner of Anthony's mouth. Anthony's eyes went wide, and he froze completely. Ian leaned back down, a small blush on his cheeks as well. Anthony smiled, "I-If you do that again I think I'll understand more." Ian laughed, and punched Anthony playfully in the arm before turning away and leaving the kitchen.
