The silence of the night was broken by the engine of the dusty black car that drove down the empty road. Street lamps flashed passed the two men in the car, one of the men, a dirty blond man gripped the steering looked ahead to the quiet and quaint town ahead while the other man stared out of the window beside him. His blue eyes stared at the passing landscape as he rested his head against the cold window. His hands were clamped onto the seat of the car as the blond man broke the silence.
"Cas, what are you going to say to him?"
Castiel looked at Balthazar from the corner of his eyes and looked back out of the window, "Don't know but he doesn't need to know everything."
"Cas, it's his brother, he's going to want every single detail."
"I know… but he doesn't need to be burden with the truth."
The blond looked at his brother with a quick glance, he was paler than usual and his once full body was now almost gone. His cheekbones were prominent and his clothes looked like it was two sizes too big for him, this was a completely different man compared to 3 weeks ago before Castiel left North Willows.
Balthazar knew that he shouldn't have brought his brother back into the hunter life. He saw it slowly dissolve what little conscience Castiel had left turning what once was a happy man into one that he recognised many years ago when Castiel was at his lowest point.
"Cas, if we don't make it out alive tonight… I need you to tell me what deal you made with the crossroad demon."
Castiel's hand gripped the seat tighter until his knuckles were white but he kept looking out of the fogged up window, "That is something I cannot tell you."
"Why not?! I'm you're brother! After all these years you never told me about the deal or when you did it! Hell, I don't even remember you going to meet a crossroad demon! Cas, please," Balthazar begged as he stopped the car abruptly, "I'm begging you to tell me, I know we haven't found a solution but at least I'll know how long I've got until it's time!"
Castiel opened the door and slammed it shut, Balthazar followed suit. The brown haired man looked at Balthazar as he pulled his jacket tighter around his body, "Stop asking questions Balthazar, now is not the time. He's coming." He whispered before nodding his head towards the man running towards them. Castiel looked away, not wanting to meet the worried, angry eyes of Dean Winchester.
"Finally, what took you so long! My brother is out there being held by some lunatic!" Dean whispered, glaring at the two men with his phone in his hand, "He just called me again asking for you Cas."
"Give us your phone and we'll take care of it." Cas snapped at the older man.
"No. I'm going with you. My brother got involved in whatever your crap is when I moved here so he could get away! Now you better explain to me what is going on or I'll go to the police!"
"Dean, the police isn't going to do anything or they can't do anything. Cas, are you sure it's him?"
"Balthazar, don't be an idiot of course it's him. We just killed his entire army and within days he's contacted someone we know? It was stupid of him to put all his army in one place anyways…" Castiel muttered, Dean paused, clutching his phone in his hand and looked at Castiel with shocked eyes.
"K-Killed? W-What is going on?"
"Dean, did he tell you where he is?"
"N-No…," He stuttered before jumping at the sound of his phone ringing. He showed the phone to the two brothers, "It's him…"
Castiel blocked his eyes from the blinding light of the phone and clutched his head, "Give it to me."
"Cas... are you okay?" Balthazar said, looking at his brother who was slightly stumbling in Dean's direction to hastily grab the phone out of his hands. His question was ignored as Castiel answered the call.
"Furcas, I know it's you."
"Ah, Castiel, lovely to finally hear from you. I've heard many, many stories about you."
"Cut the crap, where's Sam Winchester."
The voice chuckled, "I knew I would get to you. I wanted to take Dean Winchester but… getting his little brother was a lot more fun. I'd imagine Dean is quite unhappy with you, destroying what is left of your soul is quite fun… don't you think?"
"When I meet you… I'm going to kill you, you understand me you little piece of shit?"
"Like you can… I'm at the old farm with your little boyfriend's brother… you can come and oh, bring your friends along too… you better hurry… From what I know… you don't have much time left. Goodbye Castiel, I'll see you soon."
