"Why do you sit in such a way?"

She turned her head to stare at him from his spot on the same sofa. "What's wrong with the way I'm sitting? It's comfortable."

"It's unladylike – sit up, cross your ankles, and straighten your back, like so."

She blinked dully at his stiff posture, immaculate gloved hands placed delicately in his lap.

If she sat like that all the time her back would seriously go out on her. He looks like one of those living statutes – all stiff and unmoving. It's no wonder Ayato teases him all the time. It was bad enough Sessoumaru put her through all those tea ceremony and flowering arranging lessons a year back. Which, in her opinion, were all a bunch of crap anyway.

She figured living at the Sakamaki household would actually give her a break from the Ice Lord. Especially with him breathing down my neck every five seconds.

She was wrong. There was never a dull moment, never.

"It looks rather...painful." She shook her head, casting her gaze back onto the novel before her, knees bent and tucked close to her chest. Despite the stick he had up his ass, Kagome had to admit Reiji certainly had good taste in books. They were a bit...odd. She'd admit – she never pegged him as the romantic type.

Pride and Prejudice may have been an English novel, but it was such a beautiful tale of love that she was surprised he'd suggested it in the first place.

In fact, she was so engrossed in her book she hardly noticed the looming shadow that was suddenly above her huddled form on the sofa. And before she knew it – he'd completely reversed their positions into one that quite suited his tastes.

Her, in his lap.

"Much better." He nodded his head in satisfaction and placed his gloved hands on either side of her hips, pressing firmly but not too much to leave a bruise. "You may continue reading now, I am satisfied with this position."

She blushed furiously, blue eyes startled and cheeks puffy with anger. Honestly, how was she supposed to concentrate now?!

"Your deplorable, you know that?"

"Perhaps. But if it was that deadbeat, you'd be under him not on top. Be grateful I've granted you even this small pleasure."

She sighed, dejected. "Like I said, deplorable."
