"HINATA!" A voice cracks as it yells.

"HIINAATAAAA!?" Onlookers bow their heads, some cracking from the loss of the Hyuuga heiress.

"H-Hinata" the same voice sobs.

Pein dropped the konoichi who stood in his way, dropping inches from his target. The jinjuriki was staring at the konoichi with shocked eyes, eyes he once carried when he lost his best friend. There was a moment of silence before the surivivors of the Leaf Village started their outcry and voiced their grief.

Naruto stares at his wife. They'd been secretly married for three years. He had sworn everything to her. He wanted her, just her, to come back to. He promised her, that they'd be together. He'd missed so much time, when he didn't notice her affection for him at the academy. He gained a best friend and someone he could love forever when they began dating. He married her, thinking he was the luckiest man in the world. Naruto secrecty thought this was part of why Hiashi Hyuuga gave his 'reluctant' blessing and not because 'he knew who his father was or that 'it would make a good political standing when it was known'. Naruto couldn't move, couldn't breathe. Hinata… Naruto was just angry, he was devastated.

"…Naruto" A voice rumbles to his mind. Naruto grit his teeth and tucked his head. Even Kurama liked Hinata, now he had to deal the stupid fox by himself. How did he do it before…how did he exist without her?!

"KIT" Naruto entered his mindscape, not caring what happened to him anymore, he couldn't live without her. Kurama stares at the sad state of his host. He too knew what it was like to have your mate killed before your eyes, after all, that's what the man in the mask did…

"If you truly do not care if you live or die, release the seal, and we will protect your home and the rest of your people." Kurama demands, his tails swaying intimidating behind him. Naruto stares at him.

"Will you kill the rest of my precious people?" Naruto asks, a spark of something of emotion.

"That is not your will…even if I tried, you could stop me" Kurama attempts to reassure. Naruto hesitated. Hinata somehow was able to have an impact of Kurama when he allowed him to manifest outside his body using a clone. The two of them had long talks on all things, especially mercy and humanity.

"Kurama…" Naruto calls causing Kurama to perk up at hearing his name he had allowed the gaki to hear and use.

"Please…please protect my people, and not her death be in vain" Naruto sobs with eviction. Kurama climbs to his feet.

"Together, we shall" Kurama promises. Naruto exited his mindscape to see Pein standing before him.

"Your pain is only temporary, jinchuriki." Pein comments. Naruto looks at him.

"But yours will be everlasting" Naruto's voice chances as he rips the seal holding Kurama in his cage. Naruto could feel a power he's never felt before. Usually all he felt was mind numbing pain but now he just a warm energy surge around him. In fact, the earth around him dented around him as the earth itself rose into the air. The wreckage soon followed. Naruto rips his hands and libs from the black rods that was taking away his chakra. He stood and walked forward. He created a clone who picked up Hinata with grief clear on his face before it shot off to where Hiashi stood with Hinata's team.

"I will take her" Hiashi declares softly. The Clone Naruto gripped Hinata a little tighter, almost hesitant before entrusting the body of his wife to her father.

"Take care of her, Hiashi…" The clone orders, knowing it would be so even if he hadn't said so. Hiashi narrows his eyes.

"What are you doing?" Hiashi asks, stalling the negative comments Kiba was about to yell at his friend. Naruto looks to the survivors.

"Doing what needs to be done." The clone comments, turning to his original for a brief moment, whom was meeting Peins cold stare with his own.

"You cannot sacrifice yourself, Naruto, you must lead this village! You are now Hokage-"Ebisu was cut off by Naruto who stared at Hiashi.

"You will be successor. Pass on the will of fire, and lead us to peace as I could not. Behind the face of my father, you will find all I know, go there after the village is safe. Do not fail me, I am your Hokage." Naruto orders, sounding exactly as he had stated, the Hokage. Hiashi gasps, not expecting to be handed the Hokage title.

"Let me take your place! You are too young to go. We are your people, your shinobi, use us! You can lead us onwards to peace!" Hiashi refutes immediately. Naruto allows his face to soften, and when he heard the echoes of agreement from his people.

"This is why I have chosen you…and this is why I was chosen. I leader must lead by example. I cannot command you to do something I wouldn't-"

"But you prove that you're willing to die for us and your village now!" Hiashi yells, tears coming to his eyes as he remembered his own twin brother staring at him and saving him.

"But I haven't" Naruto declares, silencing the survivors, whom had started echoing agreement, "Not yet"

"Naruto…" Hiashi voice cracks.

"Put a sunflower with her at her rest for me" Naruto says, bending down and kissing Hinata's forehead one last time. Hiashi couldn't speak. The normally stoic man had tears streaming down his face.

"You are a good son, Naruto!" Hiashi bows with his daughter stills in his arms. There was plenty Hiashi wanted to say and many more he would regret not telling Naruto while he had the chance. Naruto smiles, hearing that from his father in law.

"Thank you" Naruto says, placing his hand on the mans shoulder.

The Survivors enclosed around him, bowing deeply, or going all the way down on all fours to bow.

"Lord Hokage!" they called collectively. Naruto took a deep breath, filled with emotion.

"It's been an absolute honor" Naruto responds.

"You all must leave now. Go to the Red Forest, you'll be safe there" Naruto orders. His orders were obeyed. Hiashi and he stared at each other for a solid second more before Naruto gently pushed him. Naruto turns to the only remaining members of Hinata's team and of Rookie Nine. Kiba and Shino stared at him and he could tell they weren't going to back down.

"You really ought to leave" Naruto comments.

"We'll stay and help finish this" Kiba growls, not at him, but with anger and grief in general.

"Why? Because Hinata our sister, and anyone who hurts her dies but our shared hand" Shino states. Naruto smirked a little.

"I guess we should go out in style, huh?" Naruto asks. Both men nodded.

The original Naruto didn't glace at Shino or Kiba as they appeared beside him. His clone's memories already came back to him after Shino stabbed it when he explained to them what they needed to do. They would take the place of his clones…and as bad as that made Naruto feel, this is the way they wanted to go out. He would grant them tis at the very least.

Without hesitation Kiba and Shino used their strongest attack against Pein. Naruto watches as they fight for a good five minutes, letting his two friends get it all out of their system.

Shino had his bugs surrounded Pein so he wouldn't be able to dodge Kiba's attack in time with that stupid technique, unless he wanted to get blown up piece by peice. Kiba was using fang over fang in his 'wolf' hybrid form.

"NOW, Naruto" Kurama orders suddenly. Naruto raised both hands instantly, causing the glowing fox head that surrounded him to open its mouth. Naruto charged up his energy at the gape of the mouth like Kurama had instructed. It was like gathering natural energy. The only difficulty was that he wasn't drawing it to himself but to the sphere now forming.

'Thanks, Kurama' Naruto tells the fox inside him. Kurama looks a him for a moment before nodded his head.

"Tailed beast bomb, final sacrifice" Naruto calls calmly in the face of his death. He shot it at his enemy, the one who took the life of his wife and people, and all he saw afterwards was the black ball expanding outward back at him.

… …. …

Unohana Retsu watched her husband sit in their forest, meditating. She'd been there for over an hour, waiting. Suddenly, Naruto opened his eyes. She saw the anger had disappeared, and what was left was exhaustion.

"I'm sorry for making you worry. I didn't mean to let the child get the better of me." Naruto apologizes.

"Why did you?" Unohana asks, curious. After all, Naruto knew who she once was, she was more than capable of taking care of herself.

"In the Human world, time passes differently…Today marks the anniversary of our death" Naruto informs. Unohana felt her eyes widen.

"…Naruto-" Naruto hold up a hand, stalling her.

"It's fine. My emotions simply got the better of me." Naruto sighs before standing.

"Kurama was yelling in my head the entire time to calm down. My mind was in a state of war. Follow what I knew verses what I saw…" Naruto reveals.

"He knows you well…" Unohana comments offhandedly. Naruto smiles, glancing at his Zanpakto.

"Indeed, I should have listened" Naruto admits.

"Were you really going to fight the Sotaicho?" Unohana asks walking closer to him. Naruto frowns.

"No blade shall be drawn against you without my own intention to be to kill." Naruto states. Unohana smiles.

"You're cute when you're protective" Unohana complements. Naruto leans forward so that his forehead rested on her shoulder.

"I feel a lecture coming on" Naruto groans half heartedly.

"Indeed, but not now" Unohana chuckles.

… … …

A/N Thanks everyone for letting me know my last chapter didn't upload right, especially to the two of you that pm'd me.

Also, just a side note, I won't be writing anymore lemons on this story. I'm contemplating re-writing and editing the ones that are in it out. I feel this story would be better without them, and just filling it sweet moments between the two. I might just leave it as it is and continue with lemons. I haven't fully decided yet.

Thanks again for the reviews! I enjoy reading them.
