"Giles, has the council mentioned anything about a second Slayer?" Xander asked as he entered the library with Cheshire and Kendra.
"A second Slayer?" Giles asked before shaking his head.
"It's one girl in all the world, not two," Buffy said, a hand falling to the stake in her belt as she sized up Kendra and pegged her as dangerous. "It's probably another Teraki assassin."
"A what?" Kendra asked, confused.
"Terakan assassin," Giles corrected her.
"Terakan assassins?!" Kendra exclaimed, suddenly looking concerned.
"What did I miss?" Xander asked.
"A Terakan assassin tried to kill Buffy," Giles explained. "I believe introductions are in order," he added, seeing Xander had two girls he didn't know with him.
"Where are my manners," Xander said, shaking his head. "Cheshire is a close friend of mine from the other side," he said, Lorna giving a small wave, "and Kendra: the Vampire Slayer here I just met, but she claims that when she woke up on the morning of June 3rd she accidently destroyed her alarm clock. Between that and her Watcher telling her she was the Slayer... she was pretty sure she was a Slayer."
"June third... of course," Giles said. "I have to make a phone call, please wait while I verify something," Giles told Kendra.
"Yes, sir," Kendra said obediently, surprising everyone but making Giles smile.
Buffy barely restrained a growl, and Cordelia elbowed her to get her attention before gesturing to the three with her eyes. "So..." Buffy said, "tell us about yourself."
"How about telling me about the assassins first?" Xander requested.
"Big guy with a superbowl ring for the assassin's league tried to kill me and made a mess of my clothes," Buffy replied. "If Angel hadn't been there, I'd have been in trouble; the guy was that tough."
"The Terakans are a very old group, having been active for millennia," Kendra reported. "Their motto is 'sow discord and kill the unwary'. They work in three-man cells, but even killing all three won't help as they will just send more cells until the contract is either completed or withdrawn by the contractor."
"You seem to know a lot about them," Buffy said suspiciously.
"That's the basic entry in the Slayer's Handbook," Kendra said with a frown.
"There's a handbook?" Willow asked, surprised.
"The big leather book that was written before spelling was invented," Xander said. "Giles tried to give Buffy a copy when she first got here, remember?"
Buffy rolled her eyes. "I know about the Handbook, it was exhibit B for reasons my parents stuck me in a mental ward."
"You have a manual for being a superhero and you haven't bothered to read it?" Lorna asked in disbelief.
"It is crazy long and complicated," Buffy defended herself. "Plus it reads like Shakespeare, all 'thees' and 'thous'."
"It could do with a serious update," Xander admitted.
"It still sounds interesting, but then I enjoy Shakespeare," Lorna admitted.
"I'll get you a copy," Xander promised.
"You should read it, it is your duty," Kendra said firmly.
"I have a Watcher," Buffy defended herself, "if I memorized the book he'd be out of a job."
"Not quite," Giles replied as he returned, "but I appreciate the concern for my continued employment. Now back to the matter at hand, Kendra is a Vampire Slayer."
"And they didn't tell you because?" Xander asked.
"Politics," Giles said with a sigh. "The excuse that was used was that they were concerned that something was impersonating Buffy, but as it became apparent Buffy was indeed herself, there just wasn't a pressing reason to inform me and they were concerned that her attitude would change on finding out there was another."
"Well, I'm not dead, so you can go right back where you came from," Buffy told Kendra.
"Me Watcher sent me here after I had a vision," Kendra replied. "Besides the Terakans are after you."
"And I'll beat them just like I beat everyone else," Buffy swore.
"Since there's no mud, I'll play peace keeper. Buffy, Kendra is here because of her vision, something that doesn't have to deal with our Superbowl champs as she was surprised to hear about them. How about you let her deal with her personal assignment while we deal with the assassins?"
Buffy sighed. "Fine, that's reasonable."
Xander turned to Kendra. "Welcome to the Hellmouth, it's a lot more dangerous here than you'd expect, so please be sure to get backup for anything important."
"The Slayer is supposed to work alone," Kendra replied.
"Not on the Hellmouth," Xander said. "We have an unbroken record of keeping our Slayers alive that we'd like to keep going."
"Didn't she die?" Kendra asked.
"Technical foul, doesn't count in the final score and it was because she insisted on going at it alone, making us chase after her," Xander said.
Kendra looked to Giles who nodded. "I will ask for help when needed," she conceded.
"I've found Slayers don't have the best judgement when it comes to estimating danger levels," Xander said.
"Hey!" Buffy complained.
"To be fair, most of the incidents you are no doubt thinking of were not obvious situations, but rather carefully laid traps," Giles defended her.
"I pointed out at least a third of them in advance," Xander complained, "but that's an old argument. Kendra, be sure to work with us, please."
Kendra looked to Giles once more, who gave her a firm nod. "I will," she agreed.
"Good," Xander said, giving her a bright smile that made her blush and look away.
"Let's deal with the assassins first, then go over Kendra's vision," Giles suggested.
"What's to discuss?" Cordelia asked. "We stick Buffy out of their reach until they give themselves away looking for her, while we find out who hired them."
"And that's now taken care of," Xander said, finding nothing more to say on the subject. "Kendra, you're up."
Giles nodded as she looked to him for confirmation before speaking. "I had a dream of a dark power rising in Sunnydale. It started with a young Penitent who was examining a Nun's Habit, but before she could put it on, a vampire grabbed her and tortured her until she could only speak in riddles, then he killed her and turned her."
"Drusilla the Mad Seeress," Giles guessed. "She was one of the Scourge of Europe."
"The one Angel was talking to," Xander recalled.
"Any pictures?" Cordelia asked.
"Angel?" Kendra asked.
"Vampires don't photograph, but I have some artist renderings," Giles said, heading for his office.
"Angel used to be Angelus, one of the Scourge, but he pissed off the gypsies who stuck his ghost in his corpse, chaining up the vamp," Xander explained.
"That's horrible," Kendra said with a shudder.
"Sucks to be him," Lorna said.
"Quite literally," Xander agreed.
"Hey!" Buffy complained, getting ready to defend her boyfriend, but unsure what to say.
"Here we are," Giles said, laying out a large leather-bound tome and opening it to a series of drawings made in England sometime in the late 1700's.
"That's her," Kendra said, tapping Drusilla's picture. "And that's him," she added, tapping Angelus' picture as well.
"What happened next?" Giles asked.
"A tall bald man offered me some cheese," Kendra said, "and when I turned back, Angelus was dressed as a nun while Drusilla was lashing out, shattering mirrors with tears of blood running down her face and a small blonde doll in a blue dress cradled in her arms."
Everyone but Kendra turned to look at Xander, who shrugged. "I have no idea when I'll get a chance to make Angel dress as a nun, but yes I would do so in a heartbeat."
Buffy rolled her eyes. "Drusilla was shattering mirrors," she pointed out.
"What does that have to do with you?" Kendra asked.
"I'm the king of mirrors," Xander replied with a grin.
"More like the joker," Cordelia snarked, gaining a faint hurt look when Xander didn't respond that she quickly covered up.
"What does that mean?" Kendra asked.
"I'll show you," Xander said. "Buffy, come stand in front of the mirror with me."
"Ok," Buffy said as she followed Xander to the mirror on the back of the library door.
"Nothing up my sleeves," Xander said, making a show of rolling up his sleeves, much to Buffy's amusement. "And... presto!" he said, wrapping an arm around Buffy's waist and stepping backwards, causing their reflection to step out of the mirror.
Buffy quickly dropped into a fighting crouch which her reflection mirrored.
"Calm down Buff," Xander said, clearly amused.
"What is she?!" Buffy demanded.
Buffy's reflection straightened up and put her hands on her hips. "Wow, rude much?"
"We did just spring ourselves on her," Xander's reflection pointed out, wrapping his arm around her waist once more.
"Xander?" Buffy asked in an overly sweet voice that promised unspeakable pain if he did not explain things immediately.
"Mirror clones," Xander quickly said. "They have all our memories and can stand in for us while we are off doing other things."
"So whipped," Mirror Xander said with a sigh, his Buffy elbowing him in the side.
"Are you saying you can make clones of me under your control?" Buffy asked.
"Of everyone, and yes," Xander replied.
"She's thinking about mass Slayer orgies," Buffy's reflection said.
"I was not!" a red-faced Buffy exclaimed. "I was thinking nude jumping jacks at most!"
"I show off amazing new tricks and all you can think of is how it can be used sexually?" Xander asked, looking a bit upset.
"Teenagers," his reflection reminded him.
"Point," Xander agreed.
"Plus I'm sure you've had some sexual thoughts about the use of clones as well," Reflection Buffy pointed out.
"Yeah," Xander admitted, "but it wasn't my first response, it was somewhere below the top ten list to be honest. Not a lot below, but below."
"But you could literally be having an orgy with hundreds of us any time you want," Cordy said.
"It's good to be the king," Xander said.
"Stop screwing with them," Xander's reflection said.
Xander chuckled. "They aren't actually people with all the right organs, they are reflections. Surface scan only."
"So, no massive orgies, but naked jumping jacks is still doable?" Buffy asked.
"Sure, let's go with that," Xander said.
"I've never heard of this type of magic," Kendra said.
"I invented it," Xander said.
"And the ice gun?" she asked.
"Also me," Xander replied.
"Ice gun?" Giles asked.
"I'm good with my hands," Xander replied, moving his jacket aside to show the silver futuristic looking gun on his hip.

Everyone in Willy's turned to see a vampire, encased in ice from the waist down, drag himself into the bar, half an hour before closing.
"Have I got a story for you!" the vampire told Willy as he pulled himself across the floor.
"I just mopped last... who's the president?" Willy asked, realizing it had been a while since he'd cleaned.
"I need a drink," the vampire said, pulling himself up right using a bar stool.
"You got money?" Willy asked, not wanting to give out a free drink even if it looked like a good story was involved.
The vampire sighed. "Fine, I need a drink and an ice pick so I can get to my wallet."
"Coming right up, sir," Willy said cheerfully.

"Did you get my cross finished?" Buffy asked hopefully.
"Of course," Xander said, pulling a shiny silver cross out of his pocket and tossing it to her.
"Same as the rest, tap and go?" Buffy asked.
"Second tap closes the passage instantly, otherwise it slowly closes over the next couple of minutes," Xander replied.
"Mom's gone so we'll hang out at home," Reflection Buffy said.
"I call first dibs on the shower," Reflection Xander said.
"We can share," Reflection Buffy said.
"What?!" Buffy and Cordelia exclaimed, while Willow just stared.
"You two kids have fun and don't do anything I wouldn't do," Xander said, before the two departed out the door.
"What was that?!" Buffy demanded. "I wouldn't... That was completely unlike me!"
"I am not going to go digging through your psyche to explain things," Xander said flatly. "Just write off your reflection as not being wholly 'you' and move on."
"It's getting late," Lorna quickly said, "let's go fool around." She grabbed Xander's hand and drug him towards the mirror.
"I'll see you guys later," Xander promised as she pulled him into the mirror.
"What was that?!" Kendra asked wide eyed.
"A man-eating slut," Cordelia growled out.
"Are we going to talk about the fact that it was a completely different girl in cat makeup who calls herself Cheshire and steps into mirrors from last time?" Willow asked.
"That was a different Cheshire?" Buffy asked.
"Very different," Cordelia agreed.
"Are you sure it's not a demon?" Kendra asked.
"She uses mirrors like he does, no tokens," Willow pointed out.
"He said she was a friend from the other side," Giles noted. "Before assuming she's a demon of some kind, I would suggest simply asking him for clarification."
"I don't know," Willow said, "he's not exactly the best judge of character where dating is concerned. Remember Miss French the bug lady and Ampata the mummy?"
"Or yourself and Miss Chase," Giles added dryly.
"Woah!" Buffy exclaimed. "None of us really have a lot of room to throw stones here," Buffy admitted. "Let's take it down a notch."
"To be fair, Miss French fully intended to have Xander's children and Ampata chose death rather than harm him," Giles pointed out. "Considering the pair of you burned down his house because you felt he was insufficiently regretful of your decision to no longer date him-"
"They didn't know his stuff was in there," Buffy reminded him. "It was just a little accidental arson and Xander is the one who taught them to appreciate arson."
Giles nodded. "I am being a trifle unfair," he admitted, "but I find it hard to empathize with them. The term 'adding insult to injury' doesn't cover the magnitude of their actions."
"And these are the people I am to ask to help me?" Kendra asked, unaware she'd said the question aloud until everyone turned to look at her.
"Yes, because while we may often, way too often, hurt each other in some way, we're also the first people to jump to each others' defenses," Buffy explained.
Giles nodded. "While I sometimes despair of them ever reaching maturity, I have rarely seen a more self-sacrificing group, even among my fellow Watchers."
"And we are very forgiving," Willow said, perking up. "It just takes a little time to kick in."
"And some way to apologize that he'll accept," Cordelia said thoughtfully.
"Yeah," Willow agreed, opening her backpack and taking out a pad and a pencil.
"It'd have to be something big," Buffy said. "I think that it'd be wiser to wait and let him recover a little first."
Kendra slowly backed away from the table, making sure not to draw their attention, as her instincts instructed.
Giles sighed and waved for Kendra to follow him towards the mirror. "Relax, they wouldn't notice if you set the place on fire at the moment."
Kendra watched in amazement as he tapped the mirror and stepped into its depths, waving for her to follow.

AN: Pfft 'made it himself'. Uh huh. If Xander didn't steal that little futuristic looking silver freeze gun from Mr. Freeze (or 'borrow' the design so he could make one himself), I'll... Well, I don't know what I'll do, but it'll be silly!
