Chapter 7: Crimes
Jack groaned as he woke up. As much as he loved his cave, rocks weren't exactly the best for the back. Then again, neither were two junior winter spirits. He smiled as he looked down at Jamie and Baby Tooth, and his heart broke as he realized that these winter spirits were of his creation. The voice was pissed beyond belief, and Jack could already feel some of his powers depleting. He had to either kill them, or take away their powers, and he couldn't do that to his friends!
Wait…friends?
Jack never had friends before. He and the word 'friend' mixed as well as peanut butter and couch stuffing did. Then again, he never thought of what would happen if he did manage to make friends. He never thought that the little tooth fairy would become a close ally of his, and he never expected his first believer to be the same. Boreas was of course his friend, but when they had first met, the north wind had replied that he served the winter sprites, i.e., he was more of a servant than a friend, and it was hard to talk to someone who hardly even talked. The voice was more of Jack's boss, so he didn't count as a friend. A laugh unwillingly passed through his teeth as he realized he did have friends.
Jamie shuffled on the ground. "Nnngg," he murmured.
"Still sleepy?" Jack joked. The newest winter sprite groaned.
"Mooooom, it's a Sunday!" he moaned. Jack raised an eyebrow.
"Alright, one, I'm not a woman, two, it's a Saturday, kiddo." Jamie shot up in surprise. "I…I'm…"
"Not in your house? With an awesome winter sprite instead? Yep!" Jack grinned at the younger boy. He frowned as he saw a distressed look on the kid's face. "Are you okay? Do you want to go home?"
"No, I'm fine," Jamie muttered. "I just forgot I was here, that's all."
Jack nodded. "Do you want to go home now? Just in case?"
The boy looked up at Jack. "Yeah…I have a sister. She'll probably be waiting for me," he replied. "And mom might be scared too."
Jack blinked in surprise. "Jack, what's wrong?" Jamie asked.
"Nothing…I just…"
"Jack! Jack! Watch me Jack!"
That was a voice. Not the mean one that always bossed Jack around, but a child's voice. Almost like…a girl. "Jack?" Jamie echoed.
Jack smiled sickly at Jamie. "C'mon kiddo, I'll take you home."
"Are you sure you're alright?"
"Mmhm." It was then that Baby Tooth decided to wake up. She yawned and her wings fluttered for a couple of seconds before she looked up at the two boys. A sleepy look was on her face. "Sleep well, Baby?" Jack joked. The fairy giggled.
"C'mon Baby Tooth, lets go get Jamie home," said Jack. The fairy nodded and Jamie smiled weakly.
"Hey, don't be like that kiddo," Jack grinned. "You'll see me again for sure!" He wasn't going to let Jamie get hurt any time soon.
Jamie looked down. "What about those summer spirits? What if they come back and try to hurt you?"
"Don't worry about them," Jack assured. "I've dealt with stronger spirits than them. Just go back to your family and your sister. Let me take care of the rest."
"Alright," Jamie said. he hugged Jack. "Thanks for saving me again."
"So, we know our respected positions?"
Mother Nature looked over the summer spirits. Bunny, Pitch and Sandy were also there, chosen to try and get Jamie and Sophie away from Jack as much as possible. The spirits were all in Mother Nature's garden to try and come up with a plan. "No problem," Aries smirked. He looked over to Bunny. "We just cause a ruckus and get the watch while cotton tail over there tries to nab the little girl. Maybe take out Jack permanently in the process. Sounds easy, right?"
"As long as we get the little anklebitter out of there and get the watch, we'll be fine. Then Jamie will follow," Bunny said. Pitch and Sandy were standing right next to him, equally determined looks on their faces.
Mother Nature nodded and turned to the summer spirits. "Aries, you lead the first half of the attack. Sol will lead the second. Meanwhile, Pitch and Sandy will try to get Jamie as far away from Jack and his sister as possible. Between the first and second attack, Bunny, you'll get Sophie."
Aries and a group of summer spirits would lead an attack on Jack to distract him from anything else around him and get the watch. Meanwhile, Pitch and Sandy would try to persuade Jamie to stay away from the forest and the lake, if all else failed, then Sandy would put the boy to sleep and bring him to the pole. When the first attack died down, or when Jack started to suspect something, another group would come. Sol and the others would take Aries' place, and after Pitch or Sandy reported that Jamie was away from his sister and Jack, Bunny would get Sophie and bring her to the warren. The other spirits were off trying to help Tooth and Sandy with their jobs.
"Why do we need to get the watch anyways?" Aries asked. "I mean, I know its important and all, but why even bother? It only works on mortals."
"Exactly," Bunny replied. "If all the mortals stopped doing everything, that means they would literally stop doing everything. Thinking, dreaming, remembering, believing..." Bunny trailed off. "The Guardian's lives are at stake here, plus the fact that Jack can now cause as much of a ruckus as he wants too. He could trash the world, clean it up, and it would never surprise the mortals because they're technically brain dead." Aries nodded in understanding.
"Should we get going, Sandman?" Pitch suggested, his voice coming out smoothly. Sandy nodded, and Pitch disappeared into shadows while Sandy followed him with his giant sand cloud. Aries looked at his summer spirits. "We should get going. Are you ready?" he asked.
A large roar of shouts came from the summer spirit's group. "Alright guys, lets get that winter bastard!" Aries cheered. He flew high up into the air, four summer spirits following him. they went into a 'V' formation before heading northwest, towards Burgess. Mother Nature watched as her spirits flew away. "Idiots," she thought. "One day, they'll get themselves killed."
Bunny sighed. "I hate this," he muttered. "Why won't Jack stop being a little brat?"
"Maybe you should ask him," Mother Nature said, turning to him. Bunny looked at her incredulously.
"Yeah, and then what? The little brat isn't going to care. He isn't going to listen. All he wants is everything to himself."
She frowned, thinking about the little winter spirit. "I'm not so sure about that," Mother Nature mused. "Sure, he is wild and impulsive, but when he first came into the world, he wasn't like that. He was playful, not destructive."
"Yeah, well he seemed pretty destructive when he nearly trashed the globe at Santoff Clausen, and your garden." Bunny had seen the part of the garden destroyed, and it had angered him.
"I know, but something feels off. This ice and frost are not his." When Bunny looked at her confused, she elaborated. "Each of the winter spirits has their own frost pattern, or ice. It's sort of a way they identify who they are. They have their own magic infused into their ice. It is the same with the fall spirit's leaves, the flowers of spring, and the heat waves of summer." She sighed. "When I inspected Jack's ice, it seemed like his, but it was darker, and more evil."
"So what? People change over time, Jack's magic probably did too."
"Except that kind of thing doesn't happen with us. The ice still was Jack's, but the magic…wasn't. it was someone else. Someone like Jack, but not."
"We can sort that out when we have Jack down and defeated. Right now, we need to focus on getting those Bennett kids out of there." Bunny opened a hole in the ground and jumped through. Mother Nature stared at where the hole once was.
"Miss?" a voice piped. Mother Nature turned around and looked down. "Ah, Clover. What is it?"
"Miss, you said it wasn't Jack's ice. If it wasn't his, then who else could it be?"
She sighed.
"I haven't the foggiest idea."
Jamie watched as his sister played with her dolls. The messy-haired, green-eyed little girl laughed as she held a doll in one hand and a paint brush in the other. She held it to the doll's hand and began painting. "What're you doing there, Soph?" he asked.
"Painting," Sophie replied. Jamie crawled over to her and saw that the paint was white. "Painting what?" he asked.
"Hair." As she said so, she painted two streaks of white paint in the doll's long, brown hair.
Jamie frowned. "Why? She looked pretty without it."
"Mmhm, but you really pretty with white hair. So I paint so dollie can look pretty too." She held the doll up to Jamie. "Do you like?" she asked.
Jamie tried hard not to hug his sister tightly in fear of accidentally crushing or freezing hair. "Yeah, of course I love it," he said, breathlessly. He smiled sadly. "I think she looks absolutely beautiful." The smile on the girl's face was positively adorable.
"Thank, Jamie!" Sophie exclaimed. She stood up. "Play outside?" she asked, pointing to the door.
Jamie nodded, but started grinning as he remembered Jack. "Sophie, do you want to meet the guy who makes the snow?" he asked.
"Santa?"
The budding winter spirit flinched at Father Christmas' name. Man, Jack was right when he said he was angry at the Guardians for stealing his good name. "No Sophie, not Santa. His name is Jack Frost, and he's the king of winter. Would you like to go see him?"
Sophie frowned. "You'll also get to see a fairy!" Jamie prompted, trying to encourage Sophie. "And you'll be able to fly with him, just like Peter Pan and Wendy!" Jamie knew Sophie liked Peter Pan. Maybe mentioning him would get Sophie to come.
Apparently it worked as Sophie's eyes lit up. "Jack, Jack, fairy!" she shouted excitedly. Jamie laughed and got Sophie's coat. He put it on the three year old as she stared at her big brother adoringly. "Are you ready?" Jamie asked.
Sophie nodded. "You're best, big brother!" she exclaimed. She ran out the door with her new white haired dollie and Jamie smiled happily. "Wait for me, Soph!" he called, and the siblings ran out into the warm air to meet Jack.
Jack lazily sat on a tree bench, one leg dangling over the side. The voice was trying to comfort him for once, even soothe him, but he was still upset after leaving Jamie. He liked taking care of the younger spirit, not to mention that an uncomfortable feeling of distress never left him. He was worried for the boy, especially considering the fact that now the summer spirits knew about him and he either had to kill or take away his powers.
He was also worried about what to do with Jamie. He looked up. The Lunar Eclipse was only a few hours away. Now that Jack was in a war with almost literally the world, he was worried for what was going to happen to him. He didn't want to hurt the boy, but how else was he going to exact his revenge on the spirits? And there came Baby Tooth, who was unnervingly loyal to him, and it made him nervous, but slightly thankful. He couldn't hurt them and bring them into this mess. They deserved none of this. Only the Guardians and the spirits aligned with them deserved what Jack was going to do.
Suddenly the air around him grew warmer. He frowned. "What in the world is that?" he thought. Cold wind started to wrap around Jack, and he looked up to find Aries with a pack of summer spirits flying above him. He glared at them and frowned. "Aries," he snarled.
Aries grinned a shit-eating grin. "Frost! How're you doing?" he exclaimed. He grinned and pointed at Jack, and three summer spirits darted towards him, balls of fire forming in their palms. Jack got on his feet and grasped his staff tightly before taking a quick look at Baby Tooth, who nodded and flew quickly away. "Stay away from my home, Aries," Jack snarled. Aries laughed.
"Now then, lets get this show on the road!"
Jamie ran fast as he tried to catch up to his little sister. "When did she become faster than me?!" he thought as she started to get farther and father away, running into the forest. His legs felt like they were asleep, that he had to drag them to move. "Wait! Wait for me, Soph!" he exclaimed. Sophie disappeared into the trees.
"Well done, Sandy," a deep voice said. Jamie turned around in shock. Standing behind him was a tall, dark, and grey skinned man with gold eyes and a black robe. The man standing next to him was a short golden man that was made with something that looked like...sand? "You've separated the two."
Jamie frowned. "Who are you two?!" he demanded. The tall man walked over to Jamie and held a lock of his hair in his hand before threading the hair between his finger. "So, what Aries' said was true," he murmured. He stared at Jamie in surprise.
"Who are you?" Jamie repeated. He held his hands out in a defensive stance. The man smiled deviously.
"Of course, my apologies," the tall man murmured. He bowed. "My name is Pitch Black, and this is the Sandman. Now, we have something to talk about, Jamie. It's about your friend, Jack Frost."
Bunny hopped after the running girl. "Crikey, she's pretty fast for an anklebiter," he thought. Weaving through the trees, he finally grabbed her by the waist and hauled her up. "Now, you little anklebiter, stay still for Bunny here..."
"Bunny, bunny!" the little girl exclaimed. She poked Bunny in the nose and laughed, squirming out of his grip on her. "Bunny goes hop, hop, hop!"
"That's nice kiddo, but you're going to hafta come with me," Bunny said, a bit tired and upset. "We need to get away from Jack." The little girl laughed.
"Bunny bunny!" she squealed. "Bunny gotta catch me first!" She laughed, and started running deeper into the forest. Bunny groaned, his patience wearing down. "Why did I pick a job that has to deal with children?!" he moaned. He started to hop faster towards the little girl when he noticed something on the floor. "Is that a...doll?"
Suddenly he felt something sharp pierce his shoulder. "Gah!" he gasped. He then felt something puncture the backs of his legs, and his foot. "What the bloody hell?!" he exclaimed. "What is going on?!"
He collapsed to his feet as something flew by his viewing range. It was small, slightly white, but at the same time was very colorful. His eyes narrowed then widened. "Is that...Baby Tooth?"
"What about Jack?" Jamie snarled. He glared at Pitch and Sandy.
Pitch hummed and smiled. "Why dear Jamie, don't you understand Jack's abilities? Don't you know what he is doing?"
"What Jack's doing is getting revenge for all of the stuff you guys did to him!" Jamie snapped. "You guys hurt him!"
Pitch grinned. "Oh, contraire, my dear boy. He's a crazy mad spirit who is willing to kill every living thing he comes across, spirit or not. He will betray you soon enough. People of this kind do that to people like you, naive little children."
"Jack's my best friend! He would never hurt me!" Jamie exclaimed. Right?
Pitch tutted. "Oh Jamie, you don't know what Jack will do, don't you." He sighed. "Do you really know what Jack's plan is?"
Jamie opened his mouth to respond, but was surprised to find that he didn't know how to answer. Pitch chuckled a little, a hand covering his mouth. "So, you really don't know what Jack's going to do with this world, huh?" he laughed.
Jamie glared at him. "What are you talking about?"
Pitch's eyes narrowed and he glared at the budding winter spirit. "Jack has the watch of Father Time. He will use that watch to freeze all humans in time, and then, knowing him, he will trap the world in a new ice age, including your friends, your family, your sister, everyone but you, because you are part spirit." He took a deep breath and continued. "He will then move on to the spirits and he will kill every last one and he will not stop. This is your so called 'friend', Jamie, and I believe it would be best if you left him for good."
Jack narrowly dodged a fireball to his side before firing a blast of ice at a summer spirit. He then turned around to try and hit Aries, icy wind mixing with a hot heat. He summoned a light flurry of snow and blast it at a couple of summer spirits before hiding behind a tree. "There's too many of them! Where are they all coming from?" he thought. He fired another blast of ice before he hid again. "I have to get rid of these guys and fast!"
He flew up to try and get a hold of the situation. Looking down upon the spirits below, he searched the area for how many summer spirits there were, when he spot a familiar figure on the ground below. His eyes widened as he watched Jamie standing besides Pitch and Sandy, and his heart pounded with fright. "JAMIE!" he screamed. He tried to fly down to the boy when he was blocked by Aries. His eyes widened as he realized he came with Sol and a few more summer spirits.
"You're not going anywhere, Jack Frost!"
Jamie frowned as he looked around. "I thought I hear someone call my name," he muttered. He looked towards the forest when Pitch put a hand on his shoulder. "I don't think you should go that way. Remember what I said about Jack?"
Jamie scoffed at him when he felt something tug his shirt. He turned to see who it was. "Baby Tooth?!" he exclaimed. Baby Tooth kept on pulling him closer and closer to the forest, and Jamie followed.
"No you don't, Jamie!" Pitch snarled. He grabbed Jamie's other arm and Sandy grabbed Pitch. Together, the two of them were locked in a war for Jamie. Baby Tooth was pulling hard, when she started squeaking fervently. "Baby Tooth, what's wrong?!" he asked. Baby Tooth's eyes were wide, and she took out the doll that she had picked up off the ground. Jamie's eyes widened in surprise. "Sophie!" he exclaimed. He turned to Pitch and Sandy. "You! What did you two do to Sophie?"
"We didn't do anything, honest!" Pitch replied smoothly. Jamie narrowed his eyes before turning to Sandy. "Jack actually liked you. I guess I can put in a bad name for you after all, Sandy," he growled. Pitch took a step forward. "Are you sure you you want to pick a fight with the Boogeyman, boy?"
"Um, nope!" Jamie exclaimed. Concentrating hard, he summoned a tiny blizzard and pushed it towards Pitch and Sandy, and as they were distracted by the snow, he ran off into the woods.
"Sophie!" Jamie called. He waited for a couple of moments. He needed to find his sister! Jamie started running again as she called out Sophie's name. "Soph! Sophie! Where are you, Sophie?!" he yelled. He ran faster and faster with each step, his feet barely reaching off the ground as he tried to find Sophie. Baby Tooth flew next to him, his tiny wings beating quickly. Every few seconds or so, he shot a ice bolt or some frost to try and prevent Pitch and Sandy from following him. "Sophie please answer me!"
"JAMIE!" a high pithed voice screamed. Jamie's eyes widened and his feet lifted off the ground as he flew towards the direction of her voice. "Sophie!" he cried.
"JAMIE! BAD BUNNY, BAD BUNNY!" she screamed, and Jamie's eyes widened with shock.
"Oh no," he murmured. He looked up and flew over the trees, frantically trying to find his sister. His eyes darted from clearing to clearing when he saw Sophie's little, blonde-haired figure trapped with the grey figure of a giant rabbit. His eyes narrowed and he started to dive straight for them when he saw a strip of black sand run in front of him. Suddenly his mind was buried in fear.
"Freak!"
"Weirdo!"
"Pest!"
Jamie's mind was clouded in fear. He could feel himself falling...falling...falling
"You're afraid of yourself."
Falling...
"You're afraid you'll hurt the ones you love."
Falling...
"You're afraid that Jack will leave you..."
Falling...
"You're afraid that Sophie will leave you...forever..."
Jamie's eyes opened in shock.
"NO!"
Jamie started to soar through the air, his heart beating at 100 miles per hour. He couldn't let them get Sophie! He refused to let them get Sophie! Concentrating magic within himself, he released it all, spreading dark sand everywhere. He spot Sophie again, who was still struggling against the rabbit. "There's still time!" he thought. Diving down towards the clearing where Sophie was, he landed with a noticeable 'thump', spreading little cracks of ice and frost everywhere. The wind whipped around him dangerously. "Go find Jack," he murmured to Baby Tooth. The little fairy nodded and flew away as the rabbit watched on. "Was that a Tooth Fairy?" he asked.
Jamie ignored him. "Let my little sister go," he spat.
The rabbit glared at him. "You're Jamie, right? Jamie Bennett?"
"Yeah, and you've got my sister." Snow started to fall around the clearing.
The rabbit stretched a paw out to him. "Listen mate, you've got the wrong bad guy here. I'm the Easter Bunny. You've got nothing to be afraid of..."
Jamie laughed harshly. " 'I'm the Easter Bunny'? That's your argument? That just because you're the Easter Bunny I should run into your arms and love and respect you or something? You're taking my sister away from me! Why should I trust you?"
Bunny's eyes narrowed. "Look around you! Those winter powers are going to destroy everything around you! Your home, your friends, your family, and its all going to be because of that Frost brat!" Jamie's eyes narrowed.
"You only say that because all you think of winter is cold! Why do you hate winter so much?"
"Four words, kid, Blizzard of 1977!"
Jamie groaned. "Just let it go then! It's been more than forty years already! Just leave me and Jack alone! If you'd only helped him, you wouldn't be in this mess!"
He was about to run up to them when he felt something hit his back. Immediately, his mind felt numb and his eyes struggled to stay awake. His vision blurred, and he could hardly hear the voice of his sister crying out, "Jamie, Jamie!" He struggled to speak. "If you take my sister," he threatened, his voice barely coming out. "I'll never forgive you! I'll never..." His eyes closed. The last thing he saw was a wisp of golden sand covering his eyes.
Jack fired a last blast at Sol, who had joined in the fight later on. "What the hell is going on?" he exclaimed, looking at the summer spirits surrounding him. Sending out a final flurry of snow, he crept away from the battle scene. "What was that about? Its totally pointless. These guys are all weak fighters, unless..." his eyes widened as he remembered Jamie. "They wouldn't," he thought, horrified.
He quickly flew through the trees, following Jamie's tracks of ice and snow. "Please don't be too late, please don't be too late," he thought. His heart was racing, even when he found Jamie's limp form being dragged off by Sandy and Pitch, Sophie still screaming her head off, and Baby Tooth flying around him, nervousness showing in her wings.
"Jamie!" Jack exclaimed. He fired a bolt at Sandy, who nearly dropped Jamie in surprise, but he let go of the boy enough for Jack to pry him from her arms. He held Jamie protectively and stared at Sophie. "Let the girl go," he growled.
"I don't think so, mate," Bunny snarled, his eyes narrowed. He looked to Sandy and Pitch, who nodded at Bunny before he disappeared into one of his holes. Pitch stepped towards Jack. "Are you ready to play, Frost?"
Jack looked at the two powerful spirits nervously. He was still tired from his battle with the summer spirits. Before the two powerful spirits could do anything, he sprang up into the air and pulled out a snow globe. "Antarctica," he whispered.
"No you don't, Frost!" Pitch exclaimed.
Jack looked back at them before covering Pitch and Sandy with a giant dome of frost and ice. He smirked. "Caught you!" He exclaimed. He threw the snow globe up. As it turned into a portal, he noticed the summer spirits running towards him. Baby Tooth flew around him fervently telling him to hurry up, hurry up! He flew into the portal and disappeared, the portal closing before any summer spirit could get through. As he felt the cold winds of Antarctica hit his skin, he rest the poor boy on the ground. "Jamie," he murmured, running his hand through Jamie's hair.
"J-jack?" Jamie whispered. Jack sighed in relief.
"Oh, thank goodness, you're alright!" Jack exclaimed. Baby Tooth flew over to him and looked him over, trying to find any injuries.
Jamie laughed. "Hey Baby Tooth. I'm glad you're okay," he said. He turned his head. "Where...where are we?" he asked.
"Antarctica, the only place where spirits besides us never dare to go," he replied.
Jamie nodded and looked up at Jack with tear-filled eyes. "Jack, they took Sophie. They took my sister."
Jack nodded, and embraced Jamie into a hug as the boy cried in his shoulder. "I know, Jamie," he murmured, rubbing the boy's back softly.
He is very powerful. He might be of use to us after all.
Jack only replied with a nod as he pulled out a watch. "Is that Father Time's watch?" Jamie whispered.
Jack nodded. "Your sister should be safe from the effects, considering she might be in a magic filled world right now," he assured. Jamie just sighed.
"I don't care. I just want my sister back."
Jack nodded and pressed a little button on the watch.
The moon turned red.
And all of Earth stood still.
Bunny watched as the little girl sat by herself, an egg in one hand. He sighed.
"I'll never forgive you!"
He watched as Tooth flew over to Sophie, who only shooed her away. "Bad bunny," he heard her say, and Bunny's heart hurt a little. He had just lost the trust of two of his most powerful believers. Tooth noticed his distress and flew over to Bunny. She placed her hand on his shoulder comfortingly. "I'm sorry, Bunny," she murmured.
"Not your fault, sheila," Bunny replied. He looked up at her with dejected eyes. "Baby Tooth, the fairy Jack stole, was with them." Tooth looked shocked. "And?"
Bunny shook his head. "It seemed like she was actually helping him. Guess Jack was able to get her on his side." Tooth gasped and her wings slowed down.
"How...why?" She sounded betrayed, surprise in her eyes. "Why would my little fairy betray me?" she murmured. She flew down to the ground and bowed her head.
Bunny pulled her into a hug. "I don't know, sheila," he murmured, rubbing her back trying to comfort her.
Suddenly, he felt something happen to the ground. He looked up and saw that the moon was gone. "Its the Lunar Eclipse. Jack finally used the watch," Bunny murmured. All of Earth's inhabitants were now frozen in time. Bunny opened a hole to the North Pole and he and Tooth traveled through to meet North, Mother Nature, Sandy and Pitch. "You've got the girl. Congratulations,"Mother Nature said.
"Yeah, but now the boy hates us. That, and now Jack's still got the watch, and knows that he knows he can use it, he can use time to his advantage." He felt his energy depleting bit by bit. "I think the plan might've backfired," Bunny muttered.
"Don't fret, Bunny," Mother Nature replied. "Jamie'll come back for his sister soon. Now we just have to wait."
"For what?!" Aries stormed into the room. "That brat's still pretty powerful, and even though he has a new winter spirit, they're still apparently going to be hard to take down!"
"I agree," Pitch nodded. "Jamie was able to fight of my nightmare sand, even when it complexly surrounded him, and he trapped Sandy and I in ice. It was only a miracle that we were able to escape." By miracle, he meant Bunny's holes.
Aries nodded. "I suggest we should take Jack while he and Jamie are still down! Before they're able to get back on their feet!"
Mother Nature glared at him. "They're in Antarctica right now!" she hissed. "If we were to go send a couple of spirits there, how many of them would come out alive in Jack's own environment?!" Aries flinched. "No, we'll just have to wait." She looked at North and Bunny. "Come, you two. I want you to help me with something."
Bunny and North walked up to her. "Vat is it?" North asked.
"You two are familiar with magic, are you not?" They nodded.
Pitch walked over to them. "Seraphina, do you think..." he began.
She nodded. "If you can help me, please, help us to analyze this ice." She held up a block of ice before them. "Bunny, do you remember what I said to you before you left today?"
"Yeah, something about how a spirit's magic is in whatever they create," Bunny replied.
"Right," Mother Nature said. "Something doesn't add up here, and I think they answer to that is in here. But we need to hurry. Who knows when Jack'll strike next."
Bunny nodded and thought back to Jamie and Sophie. He remembered the first time he saw Jamie on that Easter day.
"You should've helped him!"
"Should I have helped you too?" he thought. The thought stayed with him as the four spirits went into North's workshop to analyze the ice.
