Chapter 24
"What is that?"
"It is Bonnie's Grimoire." Elena was one with patience to answer Amara's stupid questions.
"A grim... What?"
"It is a magic spell book... Idiot." Bella only had insults prepared for Amara which wasn't even surprising considering how Bella detested Amara.
"It is a talisman. Since Bonnie can't be here, her Grimoire will have to do. Hands in, palms up."
Qetsiyah was not a woman you should keep waiting, just obey, it is easier. She grabbed Amara's hand and sliced her palm, blood fell on the Grimoire and next in line for slicing palms was Elena and finally Bella. Amara has been waken by Bella and dragged in front of Qetsiyah who without further delay started with the spell. The spell which will make Amara normal mortal unable to pass on the other side as she will no longer be a supernatural being herself. The role of the anchor will be passed to Bonnie, who will be resurrected.
"I'm sorry, Love. Did that hurt?" Qetsiyah asked mockingly when Amara whimpered.
"I've been through worse."
There was no doubt for Amara's previous words, but Bella had no pity for her look-alike. Amara suffered for more than millenia, feeling every death of supernatural being which in Qetsiyah's words hurt like a bitch. But no one cared for that. Qetsiyah made Amara suffer once and now she will make sure her suffering continues for eternity. Elena profits in a way that she gets Bonnie back. And Bella, oh Bella. She wants Silas desperately and selfishly.
"Is it done?" Bella asked impatiently.
"Not yet."
Doppelgängers are mystical and recurrent which makes their blood are massive sources of magical power. It was felt in the air, electricity broke down, the papers got blown by the wind. Elena had her eyes on Qetsiyah while Amara was held back, Bella tied her to column. None of doppelgangers understood what Qetsiyah was saying and if waving through the air had any result. In the end Qetsiyah held her part of bargain and it was proved when Jeremy called Elena saying Bonnie is alive which made Elena rush from the site.
"It is done now."
Bella seemed pleased, she thanked Qetsijah for her serviced with a huge smile on her face. Now it was time for Amara to take the cure and then die, but there was one little piece of plan Qetsiyah was unaware of. It was of course a betrayal by a doppelganger. After all this time Qetsiyah should know better than to trust a face which betrayed her once. The doppelganger always has ulterior motives which means Qetsiyah has a knife stabbed in her back.
"Thank you for assistance, sister dear." Bella thanked Elena.
"It's been a pleasure. Now get rid of the cure and I'll take her corpse."
The part of the plan which Qetsiyah wasn't aware of, is that after she brought back Bonnie and made her anchor, she would be useless and as such killed without much thinking. Elena and Bella made a deal, both sides complied with the agreement. Bonnie was alive and Elena snapped Qetsiyah's neck. One of two crazy pants in the room was dead and now was the turn for another. Amara will die today by Bella's hand, her corpse burned, ashes spilled in food for the pigs.
"I didn't notice until now, but I am so hungry." Bella said while taking the dagger from it's place next to the bottle with the cure.
"Why are you doing this?"
"Because I can." Bella laughed. "I want something, well, somebody and I can't have him when you are in my way and somehow I think I am much prettier."
"Are you talking about Silas?"
"Was there any other man in your life? Of course I am talking about him."
"He is alive?"
"Honey... It is the only logical conclusion that he is alive... And that is why I need to kill you."
"Please, don't. You're in love with him and he will never forgive you for this."
"And that is why he will never find out."
Bella stabbed Amara in the shoulder with the dagger and quickly pulled it out. She watched the blood emerging from the wound until the smell hit her. It wasn't the feeling of dizziness or nausea, smell of rust and salt entered her nostrils and this was what could make her faint. This time, the smell was unusually appetizing, one could describe it as the sweetest scent she ever smelled. Thirst for it almost made Bella drop the cure. She covered her nose, trying to understand what is happening.
"You fell, Bella."
Silas was to her left, Bella didn't hear him enter as she was too engrossed trying to sort her thoughts. Silas was right, she fell downstairs and blacked out. What really happened is that she died, by breaking her neck during the fall. Thanks to vampire blood in her system, she was now in transition to become a vampire, one of the creatures she hunts down. True hunter would now chose honorable death, but she wasn't one of honor. She lies, manipulates and betrays. She is Isabella Gilbert, a twin, a doppelganger, a hunter. She is dead.
Silas advanced forward, but she stabbed him to keep him away. Smell of blood danced around her, invited her to join in blasphemy. Bella had no control, she was a savage beast jumping on being closest to her and sinking her teeth in. She was now a vampire, immortal and reality of it was seismic. Isabella didn't want this life, neither did she want the tears, but they still rolled down her cheeks. She released Amara and sank to her knees, rocking herself back and forth.
Meanwhile Silas released Amara and sent her away with the cure. He was glad to see her well, but she will have to wait. He had an urgent duty to attend, that duty been acting as support to the woman he loves. Silas freed Amara of his affection and by handing her the cure, he had given her the choice. Amara could do as she wishes now, she was free of pain as she was no longer the anchor to the other side, she can continue to live as immortal or take the cure and die as a mortal. Whatever suits her best.
"I'm sorry." Silas embraced the devastated doppelganger. "For not being here before."
"I'm tired."
"Sleep then. I'll be with you when you wake up."
"Will you wake me up with kiss if I turn to be Sleeping Beauty?" They both laughed and he kissed her forehead.
"I think that honor belongs to Donkey."
THE END
It turned to be a crazy ride for those two, but we got to the end. Silly exchange at the end is inspired by bickering Bella and Silas had in chapter nine. I thought it would be fun to end this story without any hard feeling and with a cheerful element so I opted for this and here you go, it is done.
I want to thank all who followed and read this story and as always,
Sorry for mistakes,
Wicked Daphne
