A/N: Thank you to serenyty82 who gave me inspiration to continue this story, well…not so much continue but fill in some gaps. By gaps, I mean the lack of interaction between Asami and Takaba. So, I'll be adding maybe two or three more chapters before finally putting this story to rest.

When Asami arrived home, Minoru was the first one to greet him. The little four year old jumped from his bed and ran to the front door, instantly clutching on to his father's leg like a leech. Asami, who was somewhat shocked by Minoru's actions, simply placed his brief case down and picked up his four year old son.

"Dad! You came home early today!" Minoru squealed squirming in his father's strong grasp. Asami only sighed and carried his miniature self to the living room where he sat on the sofa, still dressed in his suit jacket and overcoat.

"Hello to you as well." He breathed, sitting Minoru down on his lap. "You seem more excited than usual." Asami rested a large hand on his son's head in a type of teasing way. It was amusing to see Minoru fuss and try to lift Asami strong hand up off of his crown.

"Get off! Let me go!" Minoru yelped, still scratching at Asami's gloved hand.

"Or what?" Asami mused darkly.

"I'll fight you." And with that, Minoru began to punch at Asami's chest as hard as a four year old possibly could. Sighing, the Crime Lord removed his hand from his son's head and instead, pulled him into an embrace. He smirked as those large, determined blue eyes glared up at him.

"You look evil." Minoru whispered, burying his head into Asami's clothed chest. "Are you evil?" Asami only chuckled, and Minoru listened as that deep voice echoed through his father's rib cage.

"You think I'm evil?" He mused silently. "Maybe I am. And if I am, that makes you evil too." The businessman held Minoru up, gazing at him as if he was some prized kitten. "You are my son after all." Minoru returned his father's insidious smile and at the time, Asami wasn't sure if the young boy was aware of it.

They both shared the same expression, the same sharp features, and even now, Asami could see that determination implanted within his son. He knew the boy would grow up blood thirsty, merciless and feared, he'd make sure of it. Heaven forbid, he grew up like Takaba. Yes, there was that wit and courage that seemed to motivate the photographer, but by now, Asami knew how accident prone his partner was. It would be a curse if Minoru inherited Takaba's personality and judgment.

"You're cold!" Minoru's hands made way to Asami cheeks and hair. "Why are you cold?"

"Well, it's winter, and it gets cold outside." Asami rubbed Minoru's cheek. "It starts to snow."

"Snow?" The little boy stood in his father's lap. "What's snow?"

Asami gazed in confusion but soon realized that Minoru hadn't ever seen snow. There had been an absence of snow in Tokyo for almost five years. It still tended to drop below freezing during winter, but not a single snow flake fell from the sky. With this in mind, Asami sighed knowing that he had some explaining to do.

He opened his mouth to speak, but at that time, Takaba entered the living room. He seemed oddly shocked to see Asami and Minoru sitting on the couch so casually.

"You're back?" He spoke, quickly making way to his small family. "You didn't…you didn't say anything, I didn't hear you." Takaba sounded either nervous or impatient, this caused Asami to grow curious.

"Are you alright?" He asked, placing Minoru down on the ground before standing.

"I'm fine, I'm just surprised, that's all_"

"You're going out." Asami asked, realizing that Takaba was dressed for the cold. He wore a beige jacket given to him on his birthday the previous year, and that usual red scarf. In addition, he wore jeans and his casual sneakers.

"Oh yeah! Grocery shopping, I may also stop by the editorial department for just ten minutes." He put his hands in his pockets and smiled. "Do you need anything?"

Asami smiled. "You're acting quite suspicious." The older man breathed, quickly approaching Takaba.

"Suspicious?" The photographer mocked. "What's so suspicious about going to the store?" Takaba somehow instinctively placed a hand on his hip and scowled.

"You should know that by now, it's impossible for you to lie to me." The Crime Lord hovered over the photographer for mere seconds before Takaba walked past him.

"I'm out, there's nothing strange about that." He paused by the door. "Mino, want to come with me?" The little boy shook his head and clung to Asami's leg.

"I wanna stay here with Dad."

Both parents looked at each other for a while, having a silent war with their eyes. Eventually, Asami's golden orbs succeeded as Takaba just rolled his blue ones.

"Of course." He spoke. "I'll be back later then."

OoOoOoOoOoO

Takaba had gotten groceries, and he'd even stopped to say hello to Mitarai, however he didn't come home right after. He found himself strolling down a very familiar road, and knocking on the door of a very close friend, and that was Heidi.

"Hello!" Heidi exclaimed as she opened the door. She looked startled when she saw Takaba there, but nevertheless, she greeted him with a smile. "Akihito! I had no idea you were stopping by. Please, come inside!" Takaba returned the smile and greeting right before stepping through the threshold. As he entered Heidi's home, he smelled the powerful scent of chocolate, crème, sugar and just about anything else sweet.

"It smells nice." Takaba complimented.

"Oh yes, I'm baking for my family. I have to send gifts to Berlin! It is the last week of Advent, you see…" She continued on as Takaba looked around her home. It was strange, the decorations she put around her place. There was a huge tree sitting near her window that looked oddly misplaced. On her mantel there were red stockings hanging and on the ground, sat large red rugs. She herself wore a red knit sweater and plaid skirt.

Takaba assumed this was how people of her culture and religion celebrated Christmas, and it was obvious to him that it was much more of a big deal to her region than Japan made it out to be. Takaba couldn't actually remember the last time he celebrated Christmas. It just wasn't that important in Japan, so it was odd seeing someone so worked up about it.

"Is you family coming over here?" Takaba asked in the middle of her silence.

"Oh no." She shook her head. "They're all the way in Germany…though my cousin Ludwig is visiting. Still, it won't be the same without everyone here to celebrate. This is my first year not being with my family for Christmas. I am quite sad actually. Ludwig isn't always the best company." Heidi smiled. "Though you are not here to listen to my pity story are you?"

"I don't mind." Takaba replied. "To be honest you have a cozy place. Is this how your home in Germany was?"

"Well…not exactly, I mean as far as the decoration yes." She smiled and sat next to him. "I can take you one day, to where I live. My family mostly stays in Berlin, it's quite crowded."

"I'd like to go one day." He smiled and took a deep breath.

Heidi returned the smile. "Anyway, now down to business." She stood up. "Are you here for a checkup? It's been a month, has it not? I can't really tell if you're starting to show through those clothes."

"Oh." Takaba unzipped his jacket so that he was just wearing his blouse. Instinctively, Heidi knelt down and placed an ear on Takaba's stomach. After that, she rested her small hand on the bump and waited for a while.

"I can't really do much now, since we are not at the hospital, though it seems to me that you are fine. You're not really showing as much as usual, but that was the same for Minoru I suppose. The only concern I have is that you should be a bit bigger, since you are having twins." Heidi stood up and crossed her arms. "Do you have any concerns?"

Takaba shook his head. "That's good! Well then, sit here please, I'd love for you to taste something that I have made." She vanished into the kitchen and returned with a tray of sweets. On one side of the tray, Takaba saw what looked like frosted cake while on the other side, sat something that seemed chocolaty. She placed the tray on the coffee table before walking over to her tree and fixing it a bit. "Tell me what you think!"

"Thanks!" Takaba called, taking one of the small chocolate looking things in his hand. He smelled it for mere seconds before plopping it into his mouth. He chewed, waited and swallowed. Within seconds, he was indulged in the sweet sensation of chocolate, and bread. He'd never tasted something so good, none of the Japanese treats even compared to what Heidi had made for him.

"This is really good." He called.

"Thank you. On one side I have made Nürnberger Lebkuchen, while on the other, I've made Dresdner Christstollen." She replied. "I'm glad you like them!"

While Takaba wasn't quite sure what any of those words meant, he still enjoyed the smooth soothing taste each sweet had to offer.

"So what does Mr. Asami have to say about this all?" Heidi asked. "Is he excited?"

"Well…he doesn't really know." Takaba replied.

"Are you going to tell him?" The doctor called from the window.

"About that…I just don't know how to tell him." Takaba actually sounded frightened. "I'm not sure if he'll accept another baby. Minoru was an accident, and because of him, Asami really had to change his life style. I know Asami never wanted Minoru, but now…now he loves him. Still, I just feel it's asking too much." By now, Heidi sat down next to Takaba.

"It's okay Aki." She breathed. "Sometimes, we have to wait for the right moments."

"I wish," Takaba humorlessly laugh. "But this is Asami we're talking about." He sighed. "I just…I just don't want to ruin what we already have with another baby, twins at that."

There was a short silence, as Takaba took another breath and closed his eyes. "Maybe Heidi, if he doesn't want them, or doesn't accept them…you can keep them?"

The doctor rose an orange eyebrow. "I would keep them, if you would want me to. But, there is a problem if Asami does not want them. If that is the case then you should leave him, you and Minoru. With all the money he has, taking care of three children shouldn't be a chore. Aki, you cannot let him get away with things like this. You two are in this together, you always will be." She rubbed his back.

Takaba just shrugged. "Thanks Heidi."

OoOoOoOoO

Takaba had arrived home just a few minutes before six.

Without a word, he had quickly migrated to the kitchen to prepare dinner. After that, he had called Minoru down to the dining table and forced Asami out of his study so the three could eat as a family. As usual, Minoru started the conversation. He asked Asami first about his eyes, then he asked Takaba about his hair. He continued on to ask how old the two were until he finished his meal. Takaba eventually took Minoru upstairs and put him to bed. He then headed to his own room, where he changed clothes and hopped into bed.

About twenty minutes later, after a shower, Asami had joined Takaba. He'd slipped into the bed behind him and wrapped his strong, muscular arms around the photographer's fragile frame. Takaba, who was just too tired to say anything at the moment switched positions so that he could nuzzle his head into Asami chest.

The business man chuckled a bit as he squeezed Takaba just a little tighter.

Much sadness in this chapter. So I should explain a bit. You may realize, or may have realized, that Takaba is extremely nervous about his current situation and that is because he think he's asked too much of Asami. Like he said, Minoru was an accident and he still thinks that Asami harbors some distaste because of that, so he is frightened to tell him about the twins.

Heidi is German, if you didn't remember, she is Takaba's doctor, she was his live in doctor for a while. She is also infertile, which is why she enjoys working with children so much, since she can't have her own.

Anyway, expect a few more chapters, two or three at most, just summing up this sweet little family oriented fic. I hope you enjoyed it, please tell me what you think and I do not own Finder Series.

Pray for Israel, Ukraine and The Palestine.
