A/N: Ah well here it's the next chapter. You may have noticed that I took some time off from writing, but I'm back now with new ideas for this story and I'm looking forwards to writing more. Also as said before I'm not English and a bit out of the writing game, so please forgive me for any mistakes that I have made. Enjoy this chapter and maybe let me know what you think.

''He asked you to have lunch with him?!'' Morgana sounded far to excited about that fact. A bright and mischievous smile was spread over her lips.

He gave her a slight nod, a blush spread over his cheeks and both Morgana and Gwen giggled. ''Oh I'm so happy for you Merlin. The prince is a good man.''

''And if he dares to hurt you then he has to face me!'' The new omega queen said as she lay her arm around his shoulder. ''You know I'm slightly jealous, you both have someone courting you and I'm all alone.''

''W-well, I don't know if it's going to work out between us… We will see.'' Merlin said as his blush darkened further.

The newly appointed queen hugged him. ''Just make sure you're happy with it and don't let anyone push you to do something that you don't want to do.'' She straightened his hair and scratched his ears, causing him to purr softly. ''Enjoy the date an-''

''My lady.'' A loud voice echoed through the hallway, causing the three omegas to look up. It was the former omega queen, lady Elisabeth le Noir. The woman looked stern at the three young omegas, her eyes ice cold and her hair tightly put in a bun. She wore mostly black, as if in mourning. ''My queen, I fear that we haven't had the chance to talk with each other during last night's feast. I wasn't feeling very well so my alpha and I decided to leave rather early.''

He could feel Morgana stiffen next to him as she released him to face the former queen. ''Ah, yes, I did notice. Luckily we did manage to enjoy the feast even without your presence.''

Elisabeth expression didn't change as she replied. ''If it pleases my lady then I would like to invite you to my chambers for lunch, I still have a lot to teach you about being a queen.''

''I would love to, but I have plans with m-.''

''I do hope that my lady knows her importance for the omegas in Camelot. You should work hard to fulfil that role, we can't have someone still so incompetent rule next to king Uther.''

Merlin clenched his fists, how dare she say that Morgana was incompetent! ''Morgana is already a great queen!'' He nearly hissed at the former queen. ''She has worked really hard since she was little to become a good and kind ruler!'' His cheeks burned red from anger, he wasn't going to allow anyone to insult his friend and queen.

Morgana and Gwen stared at him, surprised by his sudden outburst. His anger turned to slight embarrassment, still mixed with anger, as he realised how he had responded to the former queen.

Elisabeth's eyes darkened before she broke through the silence. ''How dare you to talk to me like that, I should sent you to the stocks! Dare to watch you-.''

''Enough, you don't talk to my friend like that.'' He could hear the anger in Morgana's voice, her tail swinging angrily from one side to the other.

''… Forgive me, my lady, but you shouldn't get so attached to your subjects.'' She responded as she looked with judging eyes as Merlin and Gwen. ''I do expect to see you in my chambers for lunch as it's clear you still have a lot to learn.'' The last she added in a lower tone before she walked past them with her alpha close behind her.

The three of them stared at her back and he could feel Morgana's anger through the magic she emitted. Morgana let out a low growl once the former queen was out of sight and he lay his hand on her shoulder. ''Sorry.''

The queen turned to him, her eyes softening as she wrapped her arms around him. ''Oh Merlin, you definitely don't have to be sorry. I should thank you for standing up for me like that!''

Gwen hugged him from the other side. ''You exactly told her what I too was thinking, but I didn't had the courage to tell her.'' She then turned to look at Morgana. ''So are you going to lunch with her?''

Morgana released her friends and sighed. ''I fear that I have to do so. She may be a horrible woman, but it's true that she can help me with my lack in experience. Besides she still has a lot of influence within the court and I don't want to face her as my enemy.'' He hadn't thought about that, he should really get better at all this political stuff. ''doesn't mean I don't appreciate you defending me.''

''Well let's not think about that old crow anymore.'' Gwen said as she looked at both her friends. ''We have to help Merlin pick out what to wear after all!'' He felt his heart skip a beat as he saw two pair of mischievous eyes stare at him.

A nervous shiver ran down his spine, he couldn't help but feel nervous about the thought of his lunch d-date with Arthur. Oh god, why had he accepted the invitation… and why even was the prince interested in him, a royal like that could get every omega he wanted…

He let out a deep sigh as he sat down next to the well, careful to keep the clothes that Morgana and Gwen had picked out for him clean. Morgana had wanted him to dress in deep blue to match his eyes, but Gwen came with the idea of dressing him in Camelot red, it had become the latter colour.

He looked up when a shadow fell over him and he stared straight into the grey blue eyes of an young man. ''Uhm hello.'' He mumbled as he wasn't sure what to say to the stranger.

''Hello.'' The stranger's voice sounded soft and kind, which he found slightly strange as he could sense that the man was an alpha. The man, who couldn't be much older than Merlin, kneeled down in front of him and offered him his hand. ''Nice to meet you, I'm Mordred.''

He stared at the hand for a moment before grabbing it. He knew that the alpha wouldn't dare to try something with all these people around. ''Merlin.'' The young omega wasn't sure if he saw it correctly, but it seemed like Mordred's eyes lit up slightly. He quickly released the hand and stood up, feeling safer now that the man wasn't towering over him. ''Is there something I can help you with?''

''Ah well, meeting you like this is already help enough.'' Mordred said with a smile on his lips. ''But if you could give me some directions towards the knight's training field then that would be more then welcome.''

''Uhm, well you go back through the gates, turn left and walk along that path for at least five minutes until you reach the training fields… you are a knight?''

Mordred laughed. ''Not yet, but I'm hoping to become one soon… Would you like to see me try and win a knight's title?''

Merlin could feel his cheeks turn slightly red as the man leaned in and he quickly stepped backwards. ''Uhm, well, you see I already have an appointment with someone else… but I do hope that you become a knight.'' The last he quickly added as he saw the disappointment in the man's face.

''Well that saddens me, but I'm looking forwards to meeting you again, maybe soon you can show me more of Camelot.'' With that said he stood up and walked away towards the training fields.

Merlin felt overwhelmed and could only stare, a slight blush on his cheeks. In the corner of his eyes he could see one of the beta servants stare worriedly at him and he quickly gave her a wave that he was alright.

He stared at his hands for a moment and it was then that he realised what was so different about Mordred; Mordred had magic. The realisation made him blink, Mordred's magic had felt angry, suffocating, but also hopeful. Well he hoped that Mordred would reach what he wanted and be happy.

He was shaken out of his thoughts by the sudden voice that came from behind him. ''So who was he?''

Merlin turned to look and smiled when he saw Gwaine. ''Hello Sir Gwaine, he wanted to know the directions to the training fields.''

Gwaine looked slightly hurt at him. ''Don't call me Sir, it makes me feel old. But little bird, it seemed like that alpha was interested in more than only directions.'' Merlin felt his cheeks burn and Gwaine laughed as he saw his reaction. ''Well I'm not surprised, you're a pretty one after all, but I'm sure that Arthur would be more than a bit jealous if he knew.''

The knight's eyes then turned more serious. ''So he wants to become a knight… Do you think he has potential?''

During the last few days he had come to know Gwaine better and better and he had quickly realised that his flirting behaviour didn't really mean anything, it was just his way of talking with betas and omegas. It had reassured Merlin to know that Gwaine wasn't interested, but also to know that he could trust the man. ''Well I don't know much about being a knight, but I do know that he has magic and it felt powerful.''

''You can sense that someone has magic?''

He gave a slight nod. ''Not all though.''

''Well we have to see if he can pass Leon's tests, which many fail.'' Gwaine's smirk then returned to his face as he added. ''Just remember that if anyone scares you with coming to close you just kick them in the nuts, that only works with males though, with females you have to aim higher.'' The brunette knight laughed as he saw Merlin's face. ''Priceless… but don't you have somewhere to be? Princess doesn't like to be kept waiting.''

Merlin raised an eyebrow as he heard that nickname, but he didn't say anything as he made his way inside, his legs shaking slightly.
