A/N: So I guess a short chapter is better than no chapter? Hope you guys enjoy.

I'm nuts, baby, I'm mad,

The craziest friend that you've ever had

You think I'm psycho, you think I'm gone

Tell the psychiatrist something is wrong

Over the bend, entirely bonkers

You like me best when I'm off my rocker

Tell you a secret, I'm not alarmed

So what if I'm crazy? The best people are

"What are you doing, pup?" Harper was starting to hover. The corner of my mouth twitched. Now that I had some kind of idea what was happening the ocean in my head was far less scary. Harper was slowly warming up to me. Weird seeing as I was her and she was me. One would think we would be the best of friends. Crazy what differing opinions could do.

"Meddling." I hummed under my breath. Sand shifted behind me as she ceased her I was squatting down in the sand. Knees together I used a stick to practice my handwriting.

"Uhuh, and by meddling you mean..." she leaned over me. Ends of a long braid smacked my cheek. Hands rested on my shoulders. "Okay so you're writing in the sand. Congrats, maybe your handwriting will get better."

"Yeah, exactly." I said in an amused way. She huffed pushing off my shoulders. Moving to my side she plopped down in the sand. Her legs went over my writing. Laughter bubbled in my stomach. Harper could be such a brat.

"What are you planning?" one of her traits I could appreciate. When she wasn't trying to dance around secrets she knew how to get straight to the point.

"What makes you think I'm, planning something?' I poked her in the side with the stick. She was wearing these bulky green shorts that came to her knees. Her tank top was white, and as always her feet were bare.

"Well, you're not harrassing me about the things I..we..know. Normally, you do the whole interrogation thing." she stretched her arms over her legs. "I dunno. It's just weird. I need you to be pouty and broody. Normal you is weird."

"Just taking a page out of your book. The one thing we agreed on was the Hyuuga Clan's fixation on 'destiny'. I believe your words were 'stupid-fucking-antiquated system'. That being said I'm taking matters into my own hands." I told her calmly. What followed was the most over dramatic sigh. Throwing her head back she stretched out on the sand. A few moments of silence followed.

"You're going to get us killed. No, you're going to get lots of people killed." she groaned. I shrugged my shoulders.

"Maybe. Is that really my fault?" I heard her make a frustrated noise. Pushing her foot away I went right back to practicing. For a good long while we sat there in silence.

"Obito dies first." the stick in my hand broke as my fingers clenched. "First mission when Kakashi becomes a Jounin."

She stood up and brushed sand off her legs. Turning towards the perpetually shining sun she sighed. Around us the ocean started to darken. No doubt from the emotions I was dealing with. Panic. Anger. Hopelessness. Taking a deep breath I dropped the little pieces of wood. With short measured steps I waded into the water.

"I guess I've got my work cut out for me."

When we first arrived at the Hokage's Office the lobby was full. From what I could tell every available squad had been pulled. All around us nin laughed and joked around. Occasionally a woman, who's bun looked painfully tight, would come down the stairs and call a group up. Slowly but surely the place started to quiet. As missions were getting doled out, which had to be the only reason everyone was here, the herd thinned. All of the activity died down, and I was left staring at the ceiling in an extremely bored manner.

I really wanted to practice with some of the seals I made. I'd fused a lot of water with my chakra and essentially sealed it in a tiny canister. Using my blood I could activate the seal I'd etched in the side. Now, the infusing portion gave me a lot of fine control over the water itself. My seal on the other hand… Let's just say the last time I practiced I ended up getting propelled into a tree.

I needed to figure out how to fix it.

"Would you stop brooding you're bringing my mood down." Sarutobi-kun whined. Blinking my eyes a few times I turned and looked at him. "Entertain meeeee…"

"Here read something." I grabbed a old looking magazine from one of the side tables. He groaned as I shoved the glossy paper in his face.

"That's boring too! Jeez!"

"Well what do you want me to do about it."

"You could use that water thing in here. I bet that would be hilarious." he grinned. I rolled my eyes.

"Or I could let Misao use one of those special darts on you. I think that would be fun." He pouted.

"I could use some target practice come to think of it. If I hit you with a senbon right there.." Misao reached over and touched a spot on Sarutobi's neck. "You'll drop like a rock in about ten seconds."

"Ack! Misao why do you have to be so creepy!" Sarutobi-kun almost fell out of his chair when the finger touched him. A chill visibly travelled up his spine and he squirmed.

"Your calm, brats, you need to enhance your calm." Sensei groaned as Misao and I started laughing.

"Don't be a downer Shimura-Sensei! You should help us gang up on Kenji!" Misao laughed. Sensei sighed and looked at the clock. Muscles in his jaw flexed as he clenched his teeth together. That was the look he got when we were annoying him

"Sorry, Sensei!" I leaned towards him. Feeling like a brat I nuzzled my face into his arm. "You love us and you know it!"

He recoiled like I had burnt him, but his face softened. At the corner of his mouth I saw him fighting a grin. He groaned and tried to push me away as I latched onto his arm with a hug. Careful not to disturb my forehead he put a hand on my head and pushed down. I toyed with the idea of acting like a four year old.

Sensei stiffened. His entire demeanor shifted to what we liked to call 'high alert'. Misao and Sarutobi-kun stopped laughing and turned to look at him. Worried I'd overstepped a boundary I loosened my grip. As I was about to let go his hand snared my forearm. This was not a gentle grip either. His fingers were almost bruising. The door opened and three people walked in. Two of them I didn't recognize. The third made me smile.

"Danzo-san!" I said happily. Sensei flexed his grip, and I looked at him questioningly. Briefly we made eyes contact. A quick shake of the head quieted me and I sat back. Painful moments of silence passed as they started towards the stairs. The lady with the bun looked displeased, but stayed rooted in her seat at the front desk. Sensei's eyes followed them like a hawk. Danzo paused and looked back.

"Tadashi" a nod towards Sensei. The tension in the air made the hairs on my neck stand on end. Glancing at my teammates I saw them switch into fight mode. They were feeding off of Sensei's demeanor. I almost followed suit, but I was so confused.

"Cousin." came sensei's stiff reply. The word was opposite of how some one should greet a family member.

"Ah! Yuriko! It's been quite some time. I miss our little midnight tea talks. How is your brother." he ignored Sensei completely. Even though no one was looking at my I felt everyone focus on my move.

Trust your fucking sensei.

Harper's voice rang like a bell in the back of my head.

"He's fine." I kept my response short, but my tone friendly.

"Ah, well I'd like to see you both again sometime." nothing about this interaction seemed wrong. What was I missing.

"If she has time for tea visits then she has time to train." Sensei interjected. "Besides from the looks of it the Hokage is going to be keeping us busy."

"Ah, disappointing, but I would hate to interfere with any of your students development. Good luck on your mission." and with that he started up the stairs. No one spoke for a very long time.

"So you're name is Tadashi… does that mean we can call you Dashi-sensei?" Kenji broke the tension. Sensei shot him a glare.
