Hope for the World They Stand Upon

The world was an unravelling puzzle
whose pieces were swallowed up by the wind,
its once strong frame silenced by a muzzle
that steals the hope of all of mankind.
The lion stands with his arms stretched up high,
trying to stop the approaching doom –
the barrier crumbling in the sky:
two separate worlds left without their room.
Most watch on; a few humans stand and fight
the inevitable: the doom that comes.
They fight, even against a Royal Knight
and the ever constant thumping of the drums.
They fight, because they know hope will live on
if they fight for the world they stand upon.
