Hey guys! Sorry for the delay in getting this chapter up, been having loads of issues trying to write lately. Hope that this longer chapter satisfies that need! If not, oh well. Anyways, this chapter has to deal a lot with talking about the past, so as of now a lot of the references won't make any sense. Eventually they will, though! Also, there are a couple sections in this story that is in the Predacons Rising, so I made sure that I changed the wording and made it my own creation! Hopefully I won't get called out for it, since I tried my best to change it so that it wasn't from the show. Anyways, enjoy this new chapter!
High above the clouds, high into the stratosphere, a lone being floated there, silence wrapping around the area like a cold blanket. This being was larger than the average Cybertronian, coming up to a stunning one hundred Earth feet. His bright red optics watched Earth carefully, making sure to learn as much as he could just by what he could see. His exterior shone blue because of the planet's surface oceans, although he actually was a white, gold and burgundy mech. A body-length burgundy cape flowed from his shoulders to his feet, slightly wrapping around his legs and barely moving in the stillness of space. His left arm was equipped with external plasma cannons, but in his right servo he carried a beautiful and large artifact. It was a giant double-edged Energon sword, the hilt being large and beautifully crafted. Intricate designs flow over the giant weapon, it being unique to all the other weapons his brothers and sister possessed. The Blades of Time was a beautiful creation.
Right then, another Cybertronian materialized next to the first. This one was much smaller, but had a similar build and a similar cache of weaponry. His exterior was blue and black, and his yellow optics stared at the first Cybertronian. "Alchemist, it is a pleasure to see you again, brother," the first said without looking back to him.
Alchemist Prime nodded. "Likewise, Vector. What are you doing up here, may I ask?"
"I am studying Earth, what else could I be doing?" Vector questioned, glancing over to his younger brother.
Alchemist pointed down, narrowing on a lone Cybertronian warship that flew through the skies of Earth. Immediately, the duo saw two Cybertronians sitting on the top of the ship, each one talking to the other. "I know exactly what else you could be doing, brother. You did it all the time back on Cybertron when the war that you don't know much about had started. Primus told you that we could not have relationships with others," the younger (appearance-wise) Prime said.
"That didn't stop Solus or Megatronus, did it?" the elder questioned, forcing him to look away from the puny Cybertronians.
"Solus is also dead because of it and Megatronus was banished from our presence forever."
Vector Prime fell silent, thinking over what Alchemist had said. Soon after, though, he returned his attention back to the ship. "Alchemist, sometimes you can't stop it. If you end up meeting someone meant just for you in the universe, the feelings you feel will be almost as powerful as Primus is. That's how it was for me when I first saw Aela. I couldn't contain those feelings for long. She was so beautiful, strong-willed, independent. Those feelings grew even more so when I courted with her and I had learned that a Sparkling was created from the AllSpark for her. I was overjoyed. When she was born, it changed my whole life. Rawthorn, she was to be named. Soon we had another Sparkling, and we named her Mayflower. We were happy, until Mayflower was killed by Omegacons, and Aela was murdered by Unicron. Rawthorn only survived because her mother threw her into stasis lock and she stopped aging. She is the only thing I love that is left… and I'm not going to lose her again. Not after what I went through."
Alchemist looked to Vector, and saw the sadness in his optics as he looked down to the femme. He really loved her with his entire Spark. She meant the world, no, the universe, to him. The Prime sighed. "I understand how you feel. Family is what every sentient being deserves to have. But you have to remember your duties as a Prime. You cannot mess with the lives of those meant to live in this time period, which means you cannot interact much with your daughter. Even though she is supposed to be dead, her role for this specific time is necessary for the path of history to continue on. Just don't do anything that would destroy time and existence, Time Lord." Alchemist clapped his brother on the shoulder, and then he materialized away from that area.
Vector Prime looked back down to Earth, and saw Rawthorn and her old companion Optimus Prime getting up from talking. "Be careful with who you end up trusting, my Sparkling," he warned, "because dangerous paths lay in front of you, and if you are not careful, you may die."
Starscream landed on the ground, landing perfectly without losing his balance. He looked up, hearing Soundwave, Thundercracker, Ramjet and Blackout touching down in the little clearing as well. The ground-based Decepticons transformed up on the ledge, and then they leapt down into the clearing.
The Seeker looked to the new Decepticons that they had recruited. They had gotten the five 'Cons they knew were on Earth, including another that they had missed. The only ones out of the new group that had an air-capable transformation were Blackout, Thundercracker, and Ramjet. All of the rest were land based. Thundercracker was one of Starscream's Seeker brothers, along with Ramjet. The older Seeker stood barely above Starscream's height, although he did not seem as girly as his younger brother did. His exterior was silver and blue, and his optics was a lighter shade of red than normal. His body, like Starscream's body, was unnaturally thinner than normal, although he still retained a triangular form like all the other mechs. He was more formed like the former Decepticon Knock Out. He, like Starscream, had external rocket launchers on the outsides of his arms, and his wings stretched out behind him. His Earth transformation was an F-15 fighter jet, while Starscream's was an F-22. Ramjet was very similarly built, but he was cloaking himself in a different look than he normally had. This exterior that he was cloaked in was silver and purple, and he was formed to seem like the Vehicon fliers. No one was able to get out of him why he was cloaked like he was, but they didn't really care, as long as they had another fighter on their side.
The military tank Demolishor stood a good 30 Earth feet tall, being similar in height to Optimus Prime. He had a tan and silver exterior, his red optics popping out dramatically. His faceplate was extremely scarred from long years of battle, although it fit him well. His build was very dramatic, and he had no external weapons like most of the others did. Barricade stood near Demolishor, he being dramatically dwarfed compared to the tank.
The last two new Decepticons were both femmes. The red and white racecar, who was twins to Knock Out (they had kept the secret for a long time from everyone), was Flamewar. She stood around the same height as Knock Out did, just slightly smaller. They actually looked very similar, except Flamewar was a lot slimmer and had the feminine attributes unlike her twin brother. The other femme, whom they did not know was on Earth because she had cleverly hid her Energon signature and was in hiding with Flame, was a young assassin named DarkSpark, cleverly named for her Spark, which actually was a purple color instead of the normal light blue. She was a clever assassin, one that almost at times seemed more evil than Megatron. She was primarily black with orange/gold vine designs crawling up her legs. She transformed into a convertible smart car, the car being black with flames on the hood. She was the shortest Decepticon in the group, she being about ten feet tall, barely above human height. But even with her tiny build, she was scary. She could easily take down any Cybertronian she wished, and take their Sparks just as easily. DarkSpark was very reticent, though. She rarely talked, which made her even scarier. In two words, she could be described as "sinisterly quiet". DarkSpark was the only other Cybertronian except for Megatron and Optimus Prime that scared Starscream.
The group laid optics on the dead body of Megatron, and they studied it carefully. "So this is what happened to our leader," Flamewar said, putting her servos on her hips.
Shockwave nodded. "He died only a couple of days ago, by the servos of the Autobot scout Bumblebee," the scientist/assassin said, glancing quickly over to Barricade, who was mortal enemies to Bumblebee. The police car growled deeply, gripping his servos into a tight ball. "The only issue now is that the Autobots took over the Decepticon ship, so we have no supplies and no way to easily travel wherever we want to."
"What uses will that do for us? We will not be unified as a group again until we bring Megatron back," Demolishor said, his deep voice edged with anger.
Starscream and Shockwave exchanged a glance, and then the Seeker said, "Well, we have recently learned that the Autobots have gained a new recruit, whom Shockwave used to work with. And, from having Soundwave access the most restricted Autobot files ever, we have discovered secret information that we have never heard of."
"What kind of information?" DarkSpark asked, this being the first time she has talked in a long time, her dark red optics boring into Starscream's optics.
Shockwave breathed in, and then he said, "Well, a long time ago an Autobot scientist named Pulsecannon began on a project that, if it succeeded, would help bring soldiers back from the dead so they could be used as experienced fighters in the army. While they were exploring in the Forbidden Zone, they ended up running into a Cybertronian figure that was frozen in stasis lock and had technorganic vines wrapped around it completely. They took the figure back to their lab, and in doing their research, they used this character as their… guinea pig to make sure their experiment worked. The last of the records we have are descriptions of this Cybertronian."
Soundwave right then clicked on a file, and an older mech's voice rang out of him. "Record number 172; a couple solar cycles ago we found a big discovery. We were exploring through the cave systems in the Forbidden Zone after getting permission from the Council to search through there, when we discovered a hidden passage way and soon after found an ancient Cybertronian. Ratchet scanned the being, and was able to date it back to the time of the Predacons, and during the times of the Alphabots and the Omegacons, which happened many millennia ago. We untangled it from the mess of technorganic vines and brought it back to the lab. Upon further investigation, we learned that because the Cybertronian had been in stasis lock for so long they were basically dead. This ended up being good for us, because now we had a test subject to test our Re-Spark machine on. We then discovered more about this figure. It turned out to be a young femme, maybe barely exiting her Sparkling years. Strange and ancient tattoos cover her body like tribal symbols, and her exterior, even though it was very dull, is purple, gold and black. We have no idea who she is or how she ended up getting sucked into stasis lock, but on the 'morrow we will test our machine to see if we can bring her back to life or not. Pulsecannon out."
The group of 'Cons kept silent as that message played. Once it was done, Shockwave turned to the others. "A couple of hours ago, before we gathered the rest of you up, we ended up fighting against the Autobots. Only four were there, including Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Smokescreen and the new Autobot. This is a picture Soundwave captured of her." Soundwave's visor lit up, and immediately an image of the femme appeared before them. Starscream couldn't help but stare at the femme's body. She wasn't at all like Arcee, which was for sure. But as they continued to look at the image, they noticed small, obvious parts about her. Small, strange tattoos covered only her shoulders (barely) and her faceplate (although, they were very faint), and her exterior was purple, gold and black. They also noticed that a strange insignia was on her chest, but it wasn't the Autobot one. Each stood in shock. The symbol, which they all had been taught when they were younglings, was the Alphabot symbol, although it was slightly altered.
"The new recruit for the Autobots is the femme that was brought back to life by Pulsecannon…" Flamewar muttered, shocked.
"That means if we get a hold of her, we can figure out how to use that same process to bring Megatron back to life… along with thousands of other Decepticons that have perished," Barricade said, an evil glint lighting his optics.
Starscream, Shockwave and Soundwave nodded, and then Starscream said, "Precisely why we need you guys, we will need all the help we can get on capturing this femme… and then bringing Megatron back to life again.
"What are we doing here on Cybertron?" Rawthorn asked, looking up to the destroyed buildings that surrounded her and her fellow Autobots.
After the little talk between Optimus and Rawthorn, the two friends had returned to the ship, and Optimus had told her that he was going to quickly talk to Ratchet and Bulkhead. However, Smokescreen, Bulkhead, Bumblebee, Ratchet and Arcee came up to talk to them. Smokescreen apologized for what he had said earlier, and Rawthorn quickly forgave him. She, Smokescreen, Bumblebee and Arcee went off to help Rawthorn learn more about the history of the war, and Optimus stayed to talk to Bulkhead and Ratchet. About an hour later, the Prime came and gathered all of his comrades and brought them out of the ship and out into Iacon City. Rawthorn only knew that since she easily recognized the destroyed city.
Smokescreen walked next to Rawthorn, and he quickly glanced up to the front of the group, seeing Bumblebee walking with his head held high next to Optimus. The Prime carried the Star Saber in hand, looking around as if trying to find the perfect spot to stop. Bulkhead approached them, Wheeljack at his side. "Optimus will officially make Bumblebee a warrior today. He has waited for a long time to be moved from scout to warrior, and finally, Optimus is going to make it official," Bulkhead said, a smile on his face.
"Why did he not get promoted before now?" the femme asked, looking up to Bumblebee, who obviously had a huge smile on his face.
"He wanted to be promoted on Cybertron, since it would mean more to him here than on Earth. Only a couple of days ago did Cybertron get revived, and I guess Optimus found today to be the prime chance to promote Bumblebee," Smokescreen answered.
Rawthorn nodded. "Makes sense," she said. Right then, Optimus held his hand up, and everyone came to a stop.
The Prime turned around, and placed the Star Saber tip in the ground. "We will do the ceremony here," Optimus said, and everyone nodded. As if this ritual was preplanned, the Autobots all moved into place around Bumblebee, who stood alone in the center. Rawthorn found herself standing almost directly behind Bumblebee, standing beside Arcee and Ultra Magnus. When everyone stopped moving around and had turned their attention to Optimus, he breathed in, and looked down to Bumblebee.
"We have endured countless battles and bitter hardship for most of our lives. But, finally, our home planet has been restored to its former glory. We would not be here, standing on Cybertronian soil, if it were not for the courageous efforts of both those here today, in any form of the fashion they assisted us, and our absent comrades. We have lost many comrades since the start of the war, and each has made their place in history for the contributions they have made to our success. The most recent was Cliffjumper, who made the ultimate sacrifice," Optimus started out, and at that last sentence he looked over to Arcee. Rawthorn easily saw that Arcee was hurt, but she didn't know why exactly. "But on this day, at the dawn of a new era in Cybertronian history, we are gathered to bestow a special honor, one earned by Bumblebee, trough his devotion and bravery, for the cause of peace, long before he rid the universe of the terrible reign of the Decepticon warmonger. In the company of your fellow Autobots, in the presence of Primus our creator, and by the authority vested in me by the Matrix of Leadership, arise, Bumblebee; arise a warrior and a brother to us all."
When Optimus said the part with the Matrix in it, he picked up the Star Saber and gently placed it for a moment on each of Bumblebee's shoulders. When Optimus finished his little speech, the brand new warrior, who had knelt on one knee and had bowed his head, looked up to his leader and stood up. A huge smile lit his face, and Rawthorn smiled as she looked to her younger comrade. Even though she didn't know what he had done in recent times to deserve that, she knew that in the past he had done great things for the cause and deserved to be a warrior.
Like earlier that day when she had been introduced to her fellow Autobots, Rawthorn and the others all surrounded Bumblebee, all congratulating him and patting his back. Rawthorn, since she really didn't know him that much anymore, stayed outside of the group, and she smiled as she watched her friends congratulate the new warrior. Becoming a warrior was a very hard thing to do, and it takes a lot to even qualify for that position. Of what she had learned from Optimus, she used to be a warrior, sometime between the times she couldn't remember being promoted by Optimus like Bumblebee had been promoted.
Smokescreen approached Bumblebee, and quickly clapped him on the shoulder. "Welcome to the party, Bee! Warrior today, who knows, Prime tomorrow?" he said, smiling at Bumblebee.
That thought scared Bumblebee slightly. Holding his servos up, Bee then said, "Woah, slow down, Screen. Prime is never going to happen to me. Besides, I wouldn't want the responsibilities of a Prime forced on anyone."
Smokescreen shrugged, and then he turned to look to Optimus. The Prime stood in place, leaning up against the Star Saber that he had stuck back into the ground. His eyes studied the Autobots, and he watched them walk around and celebrate. Bulkhead and Wheeljack were busy blowing up statues of Megatron and other Decepticon leaders that stood around them on the buildings, Arcee and her sisters were watching them blow up the statues, and the others stood around talking and continuing to congratulate Bee even if they had done it before. Rawthorn wasn't doing anything, she just leaned up against the closest building and stood watching the others as they moved around and did whatever they wanted to. Optimus watched Rawthorn as she stood there, and he closed his eyes. He could feel how awkward she felt standing there. She didn't remember any of her comrades really, and felt as if she were an outsider. She couldn't celebrate if she really didn't know the full reason why they were even celebrating.
A moment later, he breathed in, and then he said, raising his voice up to a level that everyone could hear, "We should be heading back to the ship soon. It is starting to get dark, and we are still not aware of what dangers we have awoken on this planet by restoring it." The younger Autobots didn't really want to go back so soon, but the older ones quickly agreed. Eventually all the Autobots had started heading back, all except for Rawthorn. Optimus stood there watching as his friends left, and then he noticed that Rawthorn still stood against the building she was leaning up against.
Picking up the Star Saber and walking up to the femme, he quickly linked optics with her. He was stunned to see the sadness in her eyes as he walked up to her. "Are you alright, Rawthorn?" Optimus asked, looking with worry to his old friend.
Breathing in, Rawthorn managed to keep her emotions well under control, which was unlike her normal self. She nodded softly. "Yeah, I am fine, Optimus. Don't worry about me," she lied, pushing herself up from the building she leaned against.
The Prime reached forward quickly, and grasped onto Rawthorn's shoulder. That action shocked the femme. Optimus turned Rawthorn towards him, and he looked directly into her eyes. Not many people could see the emotions in others through their eyes, but Optimus could. What he saw stunned him. She had a bit of every emotion playing through her at that moment, although the most prominent ones were: happiness, love, hate, sadness, lust, anger, depression, confusion, and even fright. The main emotions of those were fright, confusion, and sadness. "No, how are you?" he asked, trying his best to act like the mech she used to know to make her feel more comfortable around him.
Tears built up in her optics, and it took a great deal of willpower to keep them from spilling. "Optimus, I am… just so confused, lost. Why… Why did Primus allow me to forget a huge chunk of my memory? Why do I deserve this? Why can't everything just go back to the way it used to be?" Rawthorn drearily said, looking up to Optimus.
He didn't expect her to say that. His mind drew up a blank on how to answer her questions, so all he did was bring Rawthorn into him. That action felt very alien to him since the last time he had hugged anyone (ironically it was also Rawthorn) was towards the end of the war on Cybertron. But something inside of him told him that he should do that. As Rawthorn attempted to calm herself as she made herself comfortable in his arms, Optimus tried to think of something to say to her.
Finally, he came up with something. "Rawthorn, each Cybertronian had a set plan for them that would be able to test that person. This life was not meant to be easy. My life, well, I expected that I would have just been an average clerk my whole life. I never once expected that I would become a Prime, be a legendary leader, be fighting in this war that is coming to a close soon. But that was Primus' plan for me. Every plan is different. It takes time and patience to even come to a small realization of what the eternal scope of our plans are, and perhaps there is a really important reason that Primus took some of your memory away from you during this time period. But like I said earlier, I will be by your side the whole time, no matter what. You just have to have some patience and faith."
Rawthorn pulled herself away from him, and she took in a deep breath. As Optimus looked to her optics once again, he saw that a couple of the emotions had either vanished or had dulled down. He didn't' realize that he had even started smiling towards the femme. "Thank you, Optimus. You definitely know what to say to someone in times of need," she said, laughing slightly.
Optimus laughed quietly, so quietly it was barely noticeable. "You are more than welcome, Rawthorn. Besides, family looks out for each other, don't they?"
She laughed again. "Yeah, family does. Now, are we going to go back to the ship?"
Knock Out groaned in annoyance as he looked around the cell he was being held in. He and dozens of Vehicons were being held hostage deep inside the Decepticon warship, each one having their servos cuffed together so they were on constraints. Many of them were lounging about lazily, while others were banging their cuffs against the walls. They were making quite a lot of racket, which was beginning to annoy the doctor.
Right then, the audio-visual flashed on, and the image of Bumblebee appeared on the screen. "OK, you got my attention. What do you guys want?" Bumblebee asked as if slightly annoyed.
Knock Out held his servos up in the air. "We are prisoners of war, what looks wrong with this picture?" Knock Out asked angrily.
"Nothing looks wrong with it," the brand new warrior replied smugly, grinning slightly.
"You are too cruel, Bumblebee. You would be a perfect Decepticon."
"I'm only cruel to those who were cruel to me in the past," Bumblebee shot back quickly.
Knock Out groaned once again. "Why will you not believe that I am on your side? I truly have changed alliances."
"You have not proved yourself to be an Autobot and we cannot trust you. Like the other Decepticons, you are cowardly and you will only be loyal to who has the power, almost like a slave. You are pathetic, Knock Out," Bumblebee said, shaking his helm slightly. He then looked over his shoulder as if looking to someone, and then he said, "I have other important business to attend to at the moment. Stay put, oh wait, I don't have to worry about that for you." The screen shut off, and Knock Out growled in his throat. Cybertronians could be very annoying when they were holding a grudge. Even Autobots could be like that when they are in a bad mood. The only question was… what was making Bumblebee in a bad mood?
Knock Out slumped down against the wall, completely bored out of his cerebral processor. He examined the cuffs around his wrists, and he tried adjusting his wrists so that they weren't being squished. But that didn't do anything to soothe his pain.
All of a sudden, Knock Out heard a voice talk out on the Decepticon communication line, more especially the one that he was hooked to. "Knock Out, are you alive?" he heard the voice of Starscream ask on the comm. line.
Sitting up, Knock Out then responded, "Yes, I am alive. Where are you guys?"
"We are on Earth hidden in a little valley. Where are you, doctor?" Starscream asked.
"I am on the Decepticon warship along with dozens of Vehicons. The Autobots threw us in here and have captured us. There is no way to get out of here as far as I can see."
Right then, another voice rang out on the comm. line. "Knock Out? Are you injured at all?"
Knock Out froze in shock. He hadn't heard that voice in thousands of years. He barely recognized it as fast as he did. "Flamewar, is that… that you?" the doctor asked softly.
A pause came from the other line, and then Flamewar responded, "Yes, it is me, brother. Are you injured?"
"No, I am just fine."
"OK, good. Just stay there, Knock Out, we are going to come and rescue you guys from there."
Knock Out rolled his optics slightly. "Good luck with that. They do not go down without a fight, and they will not let prisoners out easily. Farthest you might be able to make it is the main bridge."
"Well, trust us, Knock Out, we will find a way to get you guys out and to take back over the warship," Starscream said, and then Knock Out sighed.
"Have fun trying, then. But if you guys end up getting scrapped trying to succeed, it is all on your servos, not mine. Knock Out out."
"What do you need me to do again?" Jack Darby asked, pulling back slightly in shock as he looked up to Optimus Prime and Rawthorn, the new Autobot recruit. He had barely arrived at the base since he didn't have school to worry about on Saturday, and immediately after getting there Optimus wanted him to do something.
Optimus gestured to Rawthorn, and then he said, "The other Autobots and I need to go and continue rebuilding Cybertron, but Rawthorn here needs to be shown around Earth before she can help us rebuild the planet as well. I was wondering if you could go in my stead and show her the basics of getting around Earth."
Jack rubbed the back of his neck nervously, and then he said, "Well, I guess so, it's just I'm more used to riding on a motorcycle and not in a car."
A moment later, Miko Nakadai and Rafael Esquivel walked up to them, both smiling to Jack. "Don't worry, Jack. We can go with you as well," Rafael said, looking up to Jack.
"Yeah, and besides, it would be fun to be hanging with another 'Bot. Get back to having fun with them," Miko added, grinning wildly. She then glanced up to Optimus. "We got your back covered, Optimus. Just continue rebuilding Cybertron."
Optimus nodded slightly, and then he looked to the three humans. "I trust that you guys will show her what you can so that she can get accustomed to Earth. Keep her in line for me though," Optimus joked, smiling slightly.
The three kids nodded, and then Optimus placed a gentle servo on Rawthorn's shoulder before he walked back through the ground bridge that came from the Decepticon warship. Rawthorn then looked down to the humans, who all fell silent.
"Well, let us start by introducing ourselves. My name is Jack, this is Miko and this is Raf. Our guardians are Arcee, Bulkhead and Bumblebee. We are young humans that work with the Autobots and have worked with them for several months," Jack said, looking up to the femme.
Rawthorn nodded, and then she said, "My name is Rawthorn. I am a… old companion of Optimus', and I am an expert in ancient Cybertronian deciphering an in battle techniques."
"Wow that is so cool! What kind of battle techniques do you specialize in?" Miko asked, already beginning to like Rawthorn.
"All kinds, but more especially the techniques of the Cyber-Ninjas," the femme calmly said, sitting herself down on the ground.
That got the three kids excited. "You're a ninja? That's awesome! I didn't think that there were any ninjas on Cybertron!" Raf cried out, climbing carefully onto her leg. That didn't bother Rawthorn at all. Miko soon climbed up afterwards, and reluctantly Jack followed as well.
Again Rawthorn nodded, smiling slightly. "There used to be a lot of ninjas on Cybertron, a long time ago anyways. When I was being taught, there were only three Cyber-Ninjas left on Cybertron: Jazz, Lockdown, and my master Yoketron. For years I was taught these skills, and by the end I was almost a master myself. Then, one fateful day, Yoketron and I got attacked while we were training. Lockdown, who went rogue and turned Decepticon, ended up killing Yoketron that day and seriously injuring me. But I nearly killed him in the same process. I don't know what came to be for him or Jazz, a fellow Autobot whom I was close friends with, because of my memory issue. But I have a feeling that both are dead or in hiding. Either way, I am the last Cyber-Ninja in existence…" Rawthorn said, her optics glazing over slightly with the memories that rushed through her cerebral processor.
Smiling brightly, Rawthorn took the sheath to the sword, and had Yoketron help her adjust it onto her back. Then, once he was done, he said, "That's a perfect fit! Now, if anybody tries to attack you, you will be able to defend yourself against them."
Nodding, Rawthorn began to exit the cave system that she had trained in for the past couple decades, but then she began to have excruciating pain running through her whole body. Not now, not now… Rawthorn thought, clutching her stomach as the pain raced throughout her body.
"Rawthorn!" she heard Yoketron yell. He ran up to her, and said, "Are you OK, Rawthorn?"
Pushing him away, she yelled, "Get out of here, Yokey! There is danger comi-!" She was interrupted by a sudden explosion that sent her flying to the walls of the cave. She collided to the wall with her back, making her yelp in more pain than she was already in. She fell to her face, feeling her body becoming quickly numb.
A couple of minutes later, Rawthorn began to stir to consciousness, but a moment later she felt a person push her back silently. Opening her optics, she then saw that Yoketron had positioned himself in front of her so that she was completely concealed, and that three more beings were in the cave with them. Two were Decepticon goons, being twice as tall as the middle being. The middle Cybertronian she recognized as one of Yoketron's old students, Lockdown. Rawthorn froze when she came to full consciousness, realizing that they were being attacked. She pressed her wrist, where a button was installed to contact Pulsecannon if there ever was an emergency. She heard the button buzz quietly, but apparently that also got Lockdown's attention.
Lockdown looked to the side of Yoketron, and spotted Rawthorn. He smirked, and then he mused, "Well, well, well, looks like the famous Cyber-Ninja master has yet another femme student! Which one is she now? Is she the one that old Alpha Trion created or the one that you revived from the Depths of Unicron?" Rawthorn became enraged at him right away. She had only seen the guy for a nano-click, and yet she really wanted to slag him so hard.
She growled despite the pain, and then she said, "No, I am the daughter of Vector Prime, and if you dare touch Yoketron, I will slag you so hard that you will fly to the edge of the universe and won't return for another ten billion stellar cycles."
Chuckling, Lockdown advanced towards them threateningly, while Yoketron continued to protect Rawthorn. The buzzing continued, and in Rawthorn's helm she heard her adopted father's calm voice ask, "Rawthorn is everything alright? Rawthorn?"
Tilting his helm ever so slightly, Lockdown said, "Kill them. Kill them both!" Both of the goons advanced towards them, wielding dangerous looking weapons. Rawthorn flipped out her new sword and she began to battle against the goons.
Rawthorn didn't realize how long the battle lasted; all she knew was that at the end, both she and Yoketron were severely injured and the goons were just piles of scrap metal. She looked around, and saw that Lockdown was lying on the ground just as injured as she and Yoketron were. He was breathing deeply, and seemed to be coughing up Energon.
Collapsing to the ground from weakness, Rawthorn clutched her arm, which was dangerously bleeding. She breathed slowly, and then she managed to push herself up once more. She shook as she walked up to Lockdown, and then she kicked him as hard as she could, feeling his weight slam against her leg. "I… told you that I… would slag you… Lockdown," Rawthorn said, breathing rapidly.
All of a sudden, Lockdown stirred, and turned onto his back. He stared up at Rawthorn, who had managed to pull out her Energon sword and was holding it to his throat. "Do you even… think that you can… defeat me, femme?" Lockdown growled, continuing to cough up Energon.
"I don't think… I can, Lockdown," Rawthorn started, glaring at him evilly. Suddenly, Lockdown watched the femme's optics go from blue to yellow, which frightened him. "I know I can."
The memory ended there, and Rawthorn shook her helm to get the memory away. She then looked down to the humans, who were looking up to her. "Anyways, I'm really curious to how you guys live around here. Ready to head out?"
The kids nodded, and then they climbed off of her, allowing her to stand up. A moment later, Rawthorn transformed down to her alternate mode, and the kids gaped at her vehicle. "That is a nice car. I call shotgun!" Miko cried out, quickly jumping into Rawthorn. Jack and Raf ran around to the other side and climbed in, although Jack jumped into the driver's seat.
"Sorry, but I have to sit here so that nobody gets suspicious that there is no driver in this seat until you get black tinted windows. Here on Earth humans drive cars, and if there were to be a car with no driver that would be very strange," Jack apologized as he climbed into the front seat.
"It is fine. So is there anything else I need to know about Earth before we leave? Rawthorn asked, revving her engine slightly.
"Just keep to the speed limit and don't try to cause too much trouble on the roads," Raf said.
"Sounds good. Let's get going!" Rawthorn then drove off, leaving the Autobot base behind her in a trail of thick dust.
"No, not like that! Augh, watch around you!" Bulkhead cried out, covering his face plate with his one servo as he then watched a group of Vehicons tumble to the ground from a high rafter on the building they were repairing. Bulkhead shook his helm slightly. "Stupid Decepticons," he muttered, slightly annoyed.
Turning around, Bulkhead then looked over to Arcee and Chromia, who had approached him from behind. "Looks like you're having fun here, Bulk," Arcee said, watching as one of the Vehicons stumbled around after he took that hard fall.
"Oh, this is so much fun. At this rate we will have just Iacon built in a couple of years. That doesn't include the rest of the planet that needs to be rebuilt," Bulkhead said, looking down to the two girls.
Chromia rolled her optics. "This is an extremely slow way of rebuilding the planet. I wish that we could just snap our fingers and it could go back to the way it was before," Chromia said, snapping her fingers quickly.
Suddenly, Optimus appeared next to them. The Prime looked down to the three of them, and then he said, "That would be nice, but that is impossible. The closest thing we can do is get more servos to help us build."
"Where are we going to get help like that? There are not many of us left, and the only way to get more is to somehow either repopulate quickly or bring back the dead," Arcee said, looking up to Optimus.
"There is one thing that can help us in our ordeal. But I am not for sure where it is to be found. This artifact which we all came from is the AllSpark. That is the only we can repopulate and replenish our planet," Optimus said.
"How do you not know where it is?" Bulkhead asked.
The Prime hesitated. "I sent the AllSpark off of the planet during the war so that it could be kept safe, but where it went I am not for sure. There was one Cybertronian that could help us find the AllSpark, but… we have lost that information as of now," Optimus responded.
"Great, just what we all need to hear, no way to save our planet 'as of now'," Chromia exclaimed, irritation stinging her voice.
"Chromia, please calm down. We will figure out some way to get the AllSpark back to us. We just… have to wait, that's all," Arcee calmly stated, trying to soothe her sister.
"We've been waiting for thousands of years! We can't expect that we will all survive until we eventually get the AllSpark. Already the majority of our population is dead, and the rest is in a war where they are dying all the time! If we keep this up, nobody will be left to even find the AllSpark to save our species. We will be wiped out!" Chromia exclaimed.
They all fell silent at this show of anger from her. Never did Chromia show that level of anger before because she generally kept to herself and only opened herself around her sisters. This was a very strange sight to behold. "You are right, Chromia," Optimus said softly, "but we have to accept the fact that we will have to continue on living how we have been for the last couple thousand years. Until we can find the AllSpark and restore Cybertron fully to its former glory, we will have to persist through this time. The truth at times is hard to accept."
Bulkhead sighed. "Optimus, it's just getting hard to continue on living this way. We all have felt that exhaustion setting in. To me the chance of repopulating Cybertron is as great as bringing Megatron back to life. It is so close, but so far away at the same time. Building Iacon once again is not going to be an easy feat to carry out, and what is the use in doing it if it is going to go to waste with no one living in it?"
Silence was all that came from the Prime. He closed his optics and breathed in, which was something they didn't have to do but did it because they learned it from the humans. Bulkhead turned around, saying he was going to continue on the project, and Arcee and Chromia ended up driving off to attend to another building project. They left the Prime standing there alone, left only to his thoughts and his musing.
"Oh, Primus, can you help us during this time of suffering? Help us that we can find the AllSpark soon and that we can eventually find rest and peace with the soul," Optimus said softly, looking down to the ground beneath his feet. "And… help Rawthorn to restore her memory, so she can once again realize her purpose in life."
