Chapter – 20 – Sibling Rivalry

Kim and the rest stood frozen in shock for a moment as Jim and Tim Possible, clad in power armor, started to move towards them. The surprise of seeing them was compounded by their declaration that they had been deputized to arrest them. Kim recovered first and snapped orders to the rest.

"Mom, Nana, you watch the prisoner. Ron, Yori, move the crowd back and watch for any backup for the tweebs. Will, Ken, you work with me and Shego to take them down. Move!"

Anne and Nancy grabbed Mask's arms and pulled him away from the impending fight as Ron and Yori split to circle around Jim and Tim, their eyes sweeping the surrounding area for other hostiles. Ken moved to support Kim and Shego as Will stepped forward to confront the twins

"I am an authorized agent of Global Justice and you are interfering with a mission regarding global security. Please provide your identification and authorization as required by UN Resolution 165 enabling Global Justice, the Inter Nation Treaty Enabling Regulated Foreign Enforcement Regimes and the Facilitating and Optimizing the Observation of Laws Act." Will stood stock still, an imperious look on his face, his credentials prominently displayed.

The twins stopped in confusion and exchanged baffled looks before moving forward again. "I don't know what you think -."

"- you are doing, but -."

"- you can either get out of the way or -."

"- get run over." The twins said as they reached Will and tried to grab him. Will fell back from them, his fall turning into a roll the carried him to the side where he jumped to his feet next to his brother. The twins glared at the brothers for a moment as the each sized the others up.

"It is called a distraction, tweebs. You should know what that is." Kim interrupted as she landed on the shoulder of Tim's armor for a moment before pushing off to launch an attack at Jim. Tim was shoved to the side by Kim's action off but quickly regained his balance. Jim tried to fend off Kim's shoulder tackle attack but missed as she instead grabbed the shoulder of his armor and torqued her body around his, letting go to land next to Shego as Jim spun in an almost complete circle before wobbling to a stop,

The twins shared an annoyed glare before turning to face Kim. "Very cute, sis, but -."

"- it won't be enough to take out -."

" - our GOLIATH armor."

Shego snorted. "Goliath armor? That sound like a name Drakken would use. I mean, come on, who names a suit of armor for a giant whose only claim to fame is being killed by a shepherd with a sling. Please, might as well call it the I Surrender armor, since that is your best chance of getting out of this without getting hurt."

Kim tried to keep a serious look on her face as she glared at her brothers but failed. Her brothers, on the other hand, where so red-faced they looked to ready to pop a blood vessel. Their mouths opened and closed several times as they tried to find their composure. Just as they were about reply, Shego spoke up again.

"Kimmie, are you sure they are related to you? They act more like Drakken when he can't get a jar of pickles open than like you or your mom or your Nana. If this happened to you, you would have already taken half of us out, not stood around gasping like a fish out of water."

The twins growled at them and raised their left arms. Once they were pointed at Kim and Shego, the twins let loose a barrage of stun balls, fast moving balls of ionized gas that would deliver an electrical charge to any target they hit, at the two. The two women easily dodged the attack while the twins ranted at them.

"We are not as bad -."

"- or a stupid -."

"- as that buffoon Drakken."

The twins separated to follow Kim and Shego as they headed in opposite directions their aim improving, but not their results, as they got their anger under control.

"The armors full name is Government Operations Law Investigative Activities Technological Helper or GOLIATH for short and it will be more than enough to take care of you."

Shego danced between stun ball shots from one of the twins as she snarked at Kim. "Yep, just like Drakken, they probably spent more time working on the name than they did on the armor."

One of the twins replied, a scowl on his face. "The GOLIATH armor is bulletproof and has dilitant padding to absorb shock and protect the wearer. The suit also enhances our speed and strength which, with our built in weapons, makes us unstoppable."

The twins had gotten control of their anger and were observing the four figures slowly circling them, looking for weaknesses. The four were similarly watching the twin for clues to the armors strengths and weaknesses. It seemed to be some type of high tech fibre, perhaps Kevlar, with semi-solid inserts, all over a powered frame. The twins seemed to have some type is communications system as the four noticed their lips and throat moving slightly, a sign of sub-vocal communications.

Shego leapt forward with her hands wreathed in plasma, planning to test the armor's ability to handle high-energy attacks. Her target laughed as her plasma was dissipated and her hand pushed aside before it hit him. "We have a randomly fluctuating, counter phase force field, if you know what that is, designed to stop your plasma."

Shego smirked at Kim and the Du brothers. "Obviously the force field would -."

Ken gave a smirk of his own. "- disrupt the containment field of Shego's -."

Kim continued. "- plasma and would also -."

Will picked up the sentence. "- use the containment field of her plasma -."

Shego finished. "- to divert my attack. Is that right?"

The twins glared at the four in annoyance for a moment before Jim cried in exasperation. "Gah, now I know how annoying that is." He took a deep breath. "No matter. Time to get serious."

With a nod, Tim joined him as they moved to bracket Kim between them. Will and Ken shifted to get behind one of the twins while Shego moved to support Kim. With a few quick, sub vocal commands, the two sides moved to attack. Jim and Tim moved to flank Kim, their stun ball guns herding her between them. Will and Ken launched a coordinated attack on the nearest twin, Will going low to destabilize the target and Ken going high to topple him when unbalanced. The twin caught the start of the attack out of the corner of his eye and twisted to avoid Ken's attack. Ken saw the move and, when he landed, moved to support Will. Will had rolled to safety as soon as Ken's attack failed, avoiding the twins' stun ball attack. Once the Du's were out of range, he turned back to confronting Kim.

With the Du brothers distracting one of the twins, Kim and Shego moved to attack the other twin. Shego had leapt for the head, plasma trailing from her hands, as Kim attacked with a variety of attempted throws and grapples. The target had been battered and dropped to one knee but drove Kim off with a barrage of stun balls. As he moved to his feet, he shifted to stand closer to his brother. One of the twins gave a twisted grin.

"Nice try sis but not good enough."

The twins moved forward once again trying to flank Kim. When the Du brothers moved to attack one of the twins, the other twin drove them off with a barrage of stun balls. Shego dove at one of the twins legs, hoping to knock him off balance but he avoided the attack with a quick leap into the air. Soon they had Kim bracketed and were raising there right arms to attack her. Shego saw the threat and launched herself at the nearest twin both hand glowing with plasma.

The twin saw the attack coming but, assuming the force shield would deflect it, chose to ignore it. Shego knew that a normal attack would be deflected, but had planned to exploit that. Attacking with both hands and her whole body weight behind them would increase the force of the attack and, therefore, the force on the shield be increased as well. The force shield stopped her almost dead in the air but the reaction threw the twin to the side.

"Looks like you forgot Newton's Third Law, for every action there is an equal but opposite reaction."

Kim used the other twins' distraction to launch a new attack, going for a series of low sweeps and throws in an attempt to knock him down and limit his mobility. The attacks were evaded as he shifted to the side, moving to bracket Shego instead on Kim. Once they twins had her bracketed a glazed look flashed over their faces.

"Secondary target engaged." The voices were flat and toneless as they raised their right arms to target Shego. One of the twins fired a beam at Shego that hit her in the back. It seemed to have no effect for a moment before the plasma wreathing her hand was extinguished.

She spun and looked at the him. "What have you done?"

"Just phase one." The twin behind her said as he shot another beam into Shego's back. Unlike the first attack, this had an immediate effect. Shego screamed in pain and fell to the ground as blood and trickles of green energy started to leak from her motionless body.

"Secondary target eliminated." The twins intoned in the same flat, toneless voice as Kim rushed to Shego's side. She picked up Shego's limp, motionless body and headed for her mother.

"Tweebs, what have you done?" She all but screamed as she reached her mother and set Shego down. The tweebs, who had tried to follow Kim but had been stopped by the combined efforts of the Du brothers and Ron, who had attacked to give Kim time and space to rescue Shego, replied.

"My beam set up a containment field that kept her plasma confined to her body." Replied the first twin with a smirk.

"And mine amplified her powers five-fold." The second twin continued.

"Basically we cooked your girlfriend from the inside." The finished in unison.

Kim looked at her mother, tears brimming in her eyes. "How is she, mom? Tell me she will be all right."

Her mother looked up at her. "It will be touch and go but she should make it."

Kim nodded, her face becoming a stony mask. She stood and turned to face the twins. As she went to make her first step, she froze for a moment, the last few minutes flashing through her mind. With a dark scowl on her face, she started to move again. "Tweebs!" She shouted. "Get ready for pain."

The twins turned their heads at her challenge, giving Ron and the Du brothers an opening to attack. Ron lunged forward and hit one twin in the chest, a flash of blue light accompanying the strike. The twin was knocked back several feet and landed on the ground.

"Seems your armor isn't that good." Ron taunted with a grin on his face.

"Nope, you just got lucky." The twin replied as he raised an arm and shot containment sphere at him. Ron frantically dove to the side in a futile attempt to avoid the sphere, cursing himself for underestimating the tweebs. Once he was imprisoned, he spent several futile moments trying to break out of the sphere before giving up and dropping into lotus position to meditate. He needed some clarity and distance, his normal calm was shot from seeing Shego possibly murdered and the tweebs catching him unaware.

The Du brothers had not fared much better in their attack on the other twin. They had tried to use their mobility and speed to keep him off balance and distracted. They thought they had him at a disadvantage but when they went to exploit it, the twin grabbed Will's wrist as he moved in to use his Stop Watch and shifted his aim to him brother. Ken was taken by surprise and dropped twitching to the ground. Will's shock at this allowed the twin to use his trapped wrist to throw him across the street, where he landed with a grunt.

The twins moved to support each other as Kim went to check on Ken. She grabbed his wrist to check his pulse as she determined he was OK but unconscious. Rising from her crouch she slowly walked toward her brothers, a look of determination on her face. The twins shifted nervously as Kim approached, afraid to find out what she would do to them if she had the chance.

Ten feet from them, she broke into a run that turned into a rolling dive. She slid between Jim's legs and leapt on his back. Using projections on his armor, she rapidly climbed onto his shoulders and launched herself at Tim. He ducked to the side as she passed over him but was surprised when she made no attempt to correct her trajectory or attack him in passing but instead aimed a lipstick she had palmed at him. With a grin, she activated the lipstick and watched as a stream of elastic constricting foam wrapped around the helmet of his armor, blinding him.

"One down, one to go. Your turn Jim." Kim taunted.

Jim cautiously moved forward, well aware of how dangerous Kim was. After a moment's hesitation, he shifted rapidly to the left as he sent a spread of stun balls in Kim's direction. With a roll, he rose to one knee and aimed one arm in her direction. Kim had used his momentary distraction to close the distance between them while evading the stun balls. Just as she launched her attack, Jim fired a containment sphere that hit her in midair, where she was unable to evade it. Rising to his feet, Jim moved to stand next to the sphere.

"Looks like it was fairly easy to catch you, sis." Jim was surprised at the smirk on Kim's face and started to back away. Kim raised the Stop Watch she had taken from Ken and aimed it at the sphere with one hand while the other held a small screwdriver she was using to adjust the watch. She shot the barbs into the sphere, then delicately adjusting the output until the sphere collapsed. She turned to confront her brother.

"You didn't think it would be that easy to capture me, did you?"

Jim slowly increased the distance between them as he shifted to his left, trying to put Kim between him and his brother. When he felt the time was right, he launched another containment sphere at her as Tim, who had restored his sight by the simple expedient of removing the helmet to his armor, launched a barrage of stun balls at her. She easily evaded the sphere and most of the stun balls, but was hit in the ankle by the last ball. She fell to her knees as the charge from the ball washed over her. Shaking her head to clear it, she barely managed to remain conscious. Her brother's voices caused her to look up.

"Primary target crippled, capture imminent." The twins' voices were flat and tone less.

Kim awkwardly scrabbled away from her brothers as she tried to restore feeling to her ankle. Once she was out of range of immediate attack, she slowly rose to her feet. Swaying slightly, she took up her normal stance and beckoned them to attack. The twins shared a nervous look before cautiously advancing. Their caution proved justified, when Kim launched an attack with no sign of being wounded or hurt. Jim dove to the side to avoid her assault as Tim moved to flank her.

"Don't you think I would have some type of defense given how often I faced foes using stun ball weapons?"

Kim turned her charge into a diving roll that took her away from twins and to the area where Ron was trapped. She gave him a grin and a wink before sprinting for her brothers again with a zigzagging tumbling charge. She lunged for Tim then, as he dodged, turned the lunge into a tumbling dive for Jim that ended in both of her feet striking him in the chest. Jim had seen her attack coming and braced himself for the impact, ready to counterattack at the first chance.

"You aren't the only one who has studied their foe, Kimbo."

Kim smirked at him as she turned her attack into the springboard that launched her back towards Tim. He was caught off guard by the surprise attack and could not defend himself. He expected to be knocked out and was startled when she grabbed the shoulder of his armor and used her momentum to spin him around. As he stumbled and struggled to stay upright, Kim maintained her grip and used her weight to flip him towards Ron.

"Ron, monkey flip!"

Ron had been ready for whatever Kim was planning, since he caught her grin and wink, and was braced for Tim's impact against the containment sphere. Tim's impact on the sphere stopped him in mid-air as the sphere was shoved back several inches. Tim hung suspended on the sphere for several seconds as the containment sphere interacted with the force field of Tim's armor before the force field collapsed the containment sphere. As Tim started to drop to the ground, Ron grabbed him by the shoulders and fell back onto the ground as his feet pushed off from Tim's hips, sending him flying across the street and into a wall.

Tim slid to the ground with a groan, smoke leaking from his armor. "Ron, make certain Tim is out of the fight." Ron nodded said he moved to check on Tim. "Give up now, Jim, and you won't get hurt. Too much."

Jim shifted nervously to his left, looking for an opportunity to put some distance between himself and Kim. He had only shifted several feet, when his gaze fell on Mask being guarded by his Nana. A glazed look came over his eyes again as he raised his arm to attack Mask.

"Eliminating traitor." He said in a flat voice as he launched a volley of mini-missiles at Mask. Nancy Possible grabbed Mask and rolled with him behind a car, shielding them from the missiles blast. Kim took advantage of his distraction to use her grapple gun to reach the top of a nearby telephone pole. She adjusted her borrowed Stop Watch, attached it to an electrical power line and, wrapping her legs around her grapple line used it to descend toward Jim, the power cable held by a pair of heavily insulated glove clad hands.

Jim's gaze had returned to normal when Kim landed next to him and brushed the power line against the force field of his armor. The feedback between the modulated power line and the force field caused Jim's armor to twitch and dance before he dropped to the ground, blue smoke rising from the joints of the armor.

Kim quickly, but carefully, disposed of the cable as she called out. "Hiro, we need evac, NOW. Mom, get Shego ready for transport. Nana, keep an eye on the prisoner. Ron, check on Will and Ken. Yori, make certain Tim is secure."

Have removed Jim's armor, she bound her unconscious brother's hands then stood to coordinate things as Hiro settled the jet onto the ground.
