10 years later...

The morning was cold and cloudy as the wind blew calmly around an aging Levi. With him, a small girl about 6 years old was riding a top his now grown horse Keela. The girl had chocolate brown hair, sparkling green eyes, and a bright smile. She wore a simple blue dress with short sleeves and a yellow ribbon tied around her waist. She was happily singing a sweet song as she rode up a steep hill with the former Captain.

The hill was covered in rich, green grass that was topped with fresh morning dew. Atop the hill was a single cherry blossom tree that was adorned with millions of bright pink blossoms in full bloom. Levi kept his eye focused on the tree as he pulled Keela and the young girl towards the tree.

"Daddy, where are we?" The little girl asked cheerfully.

"You'll see soon enough Kelly. Just be patient for a little longer." Levi smiled at the small brunette.

Once they had finally reached the top, the raven helped his daughter down from his pale white mare. As soon as Kelly's feet touched the ground, she began to run and dance around happily under the cherry blossoms.

"It's so pretty Daddy! What are all these flowers?" Kelly giggled as a few petals drifted around her.

Levi slowly walked up to her and stilled her bubbly movements before kneeling down and holding her close. The brunette was a little confused, but she wrapped her arms around her father and sighed contently. The raven gave the girl a final squeeze before pulling back and looking into her brilliant green eyes.

"We're at a place that's very important to Daddy." Levi calmly explained.

"What do you mean?" Kelly asked curiously.

"Let me show you." The raven gave her a small smile before standing and taking her hand.

He led the way to an area behind the tree where there contained a single tombstone. The little girl clutched on to her fathers' sleeve as she got closer to the smooth, engraved stone. When they reached the front, Levi let go of Kelly's hand. She immediately went up to read the words inscribed aloud.

"Eren Jaeger. Born Year 835 - Deceased Year 850. A strong young soldier whose determination lives on in those he touched." The small girl read softly.

She recognized the name. Her father had told her many stories about a boy with that name.

"Daddy?" She asked quietly, turning to face her father.

Levi stood still as tears began to form in his eyes. He knelt down to Kelly's level and placed a hand on her shoulder. He stayed silent for a while longer as he composed himself to tell his daughter the truth.

"You remember the boy that I often tell you about? The one that was able to turn into a titan and was placed in my squad?"

Kelly nodded her head slowly.

"This is that boy. But he wasn't just a part of my squad... He was my lover." A few tears escaped the ravens' eyes as he recalled the love they shared.

"He was a very unique man. He was dumb and reckless, but full of life and passion. He awoke in me something that I will never let die. He taught me how to love again and he made my life brighter." Levi smiled sadly.

"H-how did he die?" Kelly asked hesitantly.

Levi flinched as he recalled that horrible day. The blood. The blades. Eren's body. The raven drooped he head downward as he covered his eyes with one hand, allowing a few sobs to be let out. Everything was still so vivid to him, as if it was just yesterday.

"He... He died in my arms... after he was stabbed many times..." Levi choked out. "I couldn't save him..."

The raven broke down crying, unable to hold back his sorrow any longer. The small girl hugged her father tightly, doing what she could to comfort her only parent. She didn't understand all of what the raven told her, but she knew that the boy was definitely special to her father. Something she had always noticed was a simple silver band on her fathers' left ring finger. When she had asked if he was married at one point, he touched the ring lovingly and said that he was, but in a very complicated way.

"Was he the one that gave you your ring Daddy?"

Levi simply nodded and Kelly finally understood who this boy was. She then broke into tears as well as she realized that this boy would have also been her parent if he had still been alive. The raven held his daughter close as the both wept together. Eventually, their crying had calmed as they both sat and hugged each other, providing comfort to one another. Levi pulled backed and stood up, offering a hand to assist the small girl. She took his hand and stood with him as they looked at the tombstone once more.

The ravens' heart sank as he gazed at the name of his deceased lover. He recalled all the happy times they shared together. When they first admitted their feelings for each other, when they shared their first kiss, when they first spent a loving night together, and... When Eren proposed to him in the small stable.

Levi suddenly felt a firm tug on his arm and was shaken from his reminiscing. He looked to his daughter who was pointing over to the tree excitedly. The raven followed her finger to where she indicated and his jaw dropped.

Blossoms were swirling around the tombstone gracefully in light whirlwind. The petals then danced around the raven and small brunette, tickling their senses and being filled with a strong sense of love and compassion. The petals then returned to the tombstone and formed into a figure. A figure that Levi knew only too well.

"Eren..." Levi choked out, smiling widely as he was overcome with happiness.

The apparition slowly nodded and extended its arms. Levi copied its actions and held out his arms as well. The petals then dispersed as they rushed around the raven, leaving him with a sense of joy and satisfaction. He knew Eren had never truly left him. He turned as he watched the remaining petals dance in the wind as they flew farther and farther away, climbing higher into the sky. Just as Levi could no longer see the blossoms, a single column of sunlight broke through the clouds and shone down on high hill.

Levi smiled once more as he closed his eyes and absorbed the warmth of the sun, and of Eren's love. With one final glance, he looked to sky and whispered:

"Goodbye for now, my love."
