Quick note from the Author:

Spoilers are ahead for anyone who hasn't seen the Amazing Spider-Man 2 or read the comic. Anyways, this is just a way to give me comfort and closure on how tragic Gwen's death was. I did not see it coming and it really shook me up emotionally. If there's anyone else out there in need of a little fanfiction to help with the tears, I hope this will help.

Love-

Grimm1

This the night Gwen Stacy lived.

Peter watched in horror as he saw the love of his life fall to her death. He had to catch her. Their future depended on it. The look on her face was too painful. Spider-Man knew that he couldn't save everyone. He couldn't stop Uncle Ben from being murdered, or Captain Stacy. But he had to save Gwen no matter what. This wasn't a matter of Spider-Man heroically trying to rescue her, it was Peter desperately reaching for the woman he loved more than anyone else.

He shot his web from his slinger and it raced towards Gwen. Time is luck, and luckily, Peter had enough time to catch her. The web grabbed Gwen on her stomach. He gripped the strand of web firmly, and slowed Gwen's falling momentum to a nice and easy stop, a foot from the ground. "I got you!" He said, and swung down to her. He pulled the sticky web off of Gwen's stomach and carefully helped her stand up.

Peter hugged her tightly for a few moments. They were both trembling.

"Thank you," Gwen sighed in relief, still holding on to him.

"Are you okay?" Peter asked, his mouth pressed against Gwen's shoulder.

"I am now," she said, and gave Peter a kiss.

They walked out of the clock tower, hand in hand.

"You know we might be able to still catch your flight to England," Peter joked.

"I have a better idea," said Gwen.

"What?" Peter laughed.

"Have you ever had Shwarma?"

"Shwarma?" Peter asked.

"Yeah there's a Shwarma place a few blocks from here. I don't know what it is but I want to try it," Gwen said.

"Okay but I'm paying," Peter laughed again.

"Alright deal," she said and they kissed again.

"Hold on," said Peter. Gwen wrapped her arms around him again and they swung off into the city lights...
