The Path to War
War, it took us by surprise,
Our innocence, it died.
Under this world's skies we fight,
Beta took us by surprise.
…
We thought we had moved on from war,
Thought we had evolved.
Thought our past a tragic story,
Not to be retold.
…
Yet we've shown ourselves to be adapt,
At bringing misery.
To create war constructs once again,
Some react in glee.
…
We've come back to that bloody path,
And that's the path of war.
For our survival we must fight,
That's what we battle for.
…
But if we triumph on this world,
What is next to come?
Can we put the jinn back in its lamp,
Or have our life's way been undone?
…
For now we fight, we must survive,
But after that we'll see.
And I must ask, even now,
From war, can we be free?
