Epilogue

A Year and a Half Later

Aaron had just finished washing the dishes and patted her hands on her thighs to dry off the excess water on them. "Come on Harley, time for bed." She whispered to the black and white feline that followed her to the stairs. She stepped carefully and quietly up the stairs, approaching the first door quietly as she peaked into the room. She saw Soap with his back to her as he held the small bundle in his arms as he tried to get their daughter back to sleep. She smiled as Soap quietly sang a lullaby to her, the sound of his Scottish accent making the tune even more soothing.

"And as the sun goes to bed and the stars come out

My sweet little girl oh don't you pout

Close your eyes count your sheep

Rest your head and find a dreamy sleep"

The day Aaron told Soap he'd be a father was the second happiest day of his life. She hadn't told him until the first three months had gone by of the pregnancy because she was told after being pulled out of Russia years ago her chances of conceiving, let alone carrying a baby to full term was highly unlikely. But she beat the odds and conceived, carried her daughter to full term, and although she struggled in the delivery, she and the baby were left healthy and alive.

When she was born, Aaron and Soap had yet to come up with a name since the name game consisted of a long list of ideas. But the second Aaron looked at her daughter, she knew her name. "Riley." Aaron said to her husband with a smile. "Riley Elizabeth." Soap's eyes brimmed with tears. His daughter would be named after his fallen friend Simon Riley and Aaron's grandmother. It was perfect. His daughter was perfect.

Aaron walked into the nursery and peaked over Soap's shoulder at their daughter who was finally dozing off. She smiled and rested her head on her husband's shoulder. She always wondered what happened after the credits rolled in a Disney movie with the Happily Ever After. Now she knew. After the happily ever after was a lifetime of overall joy. She and Soap endured hell and pain and loss that they thought would be their downfall. Only they endured it, survived it, and found happiness and love in one another. They had the blessing of getting to love each other for the rest of their lives and now they had the joy of raising their beautiful little girl together. It was everything the two of them always wanted.

THE END

A/N

Do you guys think I'd leave you without a wedding and a little baby for the two? I've been WAITING for these two chapters. I am so overwhelmed and overjoyed by the amount of support and positive feedback I've received on these two stories. I loved writing them as much as you loved reading and I'm sad to say it's over, but there is a bitter sweetness in seeing it end. I'm just a mix of emotions. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for reading favoriting, following, and reviewing these stories. I wouldn't have kept going with this story without al your support and am forever grateful for you guys. I love you guys so much and thank you again!

If you are an Uncharted fan, an Uncharted fic will be up in the future. A Sam Drake/OC just as a bit of a teaser :)

(Also, the lullaby is something I wrote as I am expecting my first niece in two months so I am writing a lullaby for her and that is one of the verses I'm playing around with.)
