A/N: I'm alive! I know, it's like I vanished off the face of the earth, but I'm sorry! I FINALLY have this last chapter for you! There will be credits and popcorn at the end!

Olivia looked toward the flickering rift below.

"The orcs, they've stopped coming." She extricated herself from Lily's hug and stepped a little closer.

"Well, that's something at least," Remarked her older sister cheerfully, her sword already whistling through a particularly wimpy orc.

"Wha-" Suddenly a horrible screech pierced the air, cutting off her words. Everyone who could clamped their hands over their ears. The rift flashed, rapidly halving in size.

The remaining orcs fell to the ground, squealing in terror.

"You guys need to get in there!" Lily shouted, wincing painfully, but refusing to let go of her blade.

"What? What did you say?" Olivia turned to face Lily.

"I said they need to get through the rift, now!"

"Why?"

Lily made a face. "Well they can't stay here forever!"

"Yeah, I guess." Olivia turned back to the fellowship. "You guys need to get in there, it's a link to your world. Well, I think it is." Gandalf looked at her, then at Lily.

"It has been a pleasure to meet you." He then walked quickly over to the rift, which was already half again the size it had been. He ushered the rest of the fellowship over, thrusting his staff into the crack to keep it from collapsing. "Come! Aragorn, help me lift the hobbits through!" Aragorn hurried over, and soon he and the four hobbits were gone. Gimli and Legolas stepped through and disappeared, leaving Boromir and Gandalf. "Go, Boromir!" The wizened wizard gasped, straining at the blinding, shifting rift.

"But how will you make it through while holding it open?" Boromir asked.

"I'll be fine, now move!" Gandalf yelled, his voice horse from the effort. Boromir stood for a moment, as if in thought, then unsheathed his sword and thrust it into the crack.

"Go through Gandalf, you can hold it from the other side."

"No! You go first you insolent popinjay!" Gandalf clearly could not hold it for much longer.

Boromir looked concerned, and also rather confused. ( You could almost see him wondering what a 'popinjay' was.) His eyes met Lily's in a silent question. Without hesitating, she dropped her sword and ran up to Gandalf. Before he could realize what what happening, the heir of the stewardship of Gondor and Lily of Otherworld had shoved the great Mithrandir through the portal. Boromir grinned gratefully.

"I have always wished to do that." he chuckled.

"No problem, now git, Sir Boromir." She replied.

"An honor, Lady Lilian." And then he simply vanished. The rift clapped shut, melting with a final violet gleam.

The world already seemed brighter as the two sisters approached the house. All the orcs had melted with the rift, and the ominous clouds were dissipating into the happy summer sunshine. Oddly enough, however, much to Lily's pleasure, the glittering sword showed no sign of reverting to its former plastic state. Olivia watched from a safe distance behind, with just a little envy as her sister ecstatically sword danced across the lawn, slaying legions of imaginary foes.

"Back, you base and murderous fiends! Oh slolly-livered cows! You will live to rue the day you roused my spleen! Wait! Hold on, scratch that last bit, because, take that! You! Ha! Won't!"

Suddenly, there was a bloodcurdling screech, that the turned sky to darkness, the wind to a blasting ice, and all thought to a wild agony of writhing, worms, and instinctual cries of escape.

"What was that?" Olivia said, her eyes widening as she looked around frantically. Another screech came, closer this time. She lost sight of Lily as the freezing darkness converged upon her.

Lily felt herself shrink back at the unearthly howl, her mind assailed by thoughts of cold, terror, the world collapsing in on itself, and that awful, unholy screaming— she felt her sword fall to the ground.

NO!

She had to fight! She stumbled drunkenly in the gathering dark, but fight she must! Her mind nearly on automatic pilot now, she staggered up the porch steps, through the open door and into the house.

The door shut silently behind her. It was dark. Pale, sickly light played over the table and chairs. She blinked dazedly, watching her misty breath curl tortuously in the bloodless cold. She strode on, almost in a dream, around the table, down the hall...

"Come...Come to me..."

The voice whispered. She stopped at the doorway to her room.

"Come..."

She entered the room, her breaths labored, measured, slow. An aching dullness fell across her like a shadow from behind. She turned. It hovered in the doorway, motionless. It was tall. A tall wraith, deathly white, its arm outstretched. She stared into its lifeless eyes. It came closer.

Several images flashed before her mind. The gleaming watch, the black knife—

her backpack. Sitting on her bedspread— The book she knew was inside.

"Set me as a seal upon your heart,

as a seal upon your arm,

for Love is strong as death,

jealousy is fierce as the grave.

Its flashes are flashes of

FIRE!"

The Nazgŭl does not see as man sees. Thus it had seen no difference crossing from one realm to another. It had seen no difference in prey. So it hunted, desiring and hating the life before it. The heat of blood taunted it. It had been on the cusp of silencing that provocation. It felt something stirring in its victim, now, at the last moment, something that threatened the dark and the powers of death—

Something that struck fear into the heart of fear itself.

"...And you will receive

POWER

When the

HOLY SPIRIT

COMES UPON YOU!"

She stumbled no more, but stood tall. The Nazgŭl tried to regain control, in terror realizing that it was not only loosing its grip, but that it was being attacked by something infinitely more powerful than it would ever be.

"I do not receive you, oh spirit of slavery,

But command you, depart!

Begone! For he that is in me will shatter you!

I speak to you, darkness,

FLEE THIS PLACE
IN THE NAME OF
JESUS CHRIST!"

In an instant, in the blink of an eye, the creature vanished away, screaming.

For the last it saw was its prey, a brilliant sword burning in its hand—

And behind it, a blinding glory—

Then no more.

Olivia stumbled backward as she watched her sister become dark and clouded, finally disappearing. She ran clumsily across the front yard in search of help. She stood in the grass as her mind cleared itself of panic, and then realized that she was just standing dumbly. A dull light emanated from one of the windows and she was torn between just continuing to stand, or going inside. After finally resolving to just walk inside, she stood rooted to the spot for a solid five minutes. The light faded, and she took a hesitant step forward. And another. And another. And soon enough she found herself at the front door, reaching for the handle when it suddenly flew open before she touched it.

"Ow!" She exclaimed as she bonked heads with Lily. "What happened!"

Lily sat up dizzily. She looked happy, but befuzzed.

"I'm not sure..."

Then Olivia realized that her sister was staring vacantly at something behind her. She turned around. A silver sixteen passenger van was just in view.

"Oh! That's Mom! I wonder what took her so long." Olivia said. "What are we going to say?"

Lily picked herself up. "You know what I'm thinking?"

"Uh, no. Of course I don't know what you're thinking. What are you thinking?"

No answer. She just stared.

"...That this whole thing would make a really great Fanfic?" Olivia squeed, amazed that she had thought of the idea.

"We must never speak of this again." Lily said finally. Then turned around and started walking back into the house.

"Hey! Where are you going?" Olivia asked.

A moment later came the reply,

"I'm gonna go watch some Doctor Who."

"Wait, I'm coming too!"
