Prompt: Fairy tale gone wrong
Characters: Gray, Juvia
Theirs was a fairy tale gone wrong.
Because if fairy tales were to be trusted, he should have fallen in love with her long ago- somewhere between the lines of saving her and fighting with her and being in the same guild as her. Somewhere between her being the enemy and then a stranger and then a sort-of friend. Somewhere between noticing her blue blue eyes and her pretty badass fighting skills and her unwavering love and tears because of the fucking hopelessness.
And if fairy tales were true, he would have fallen in love with her first. He would have been the one staring longingly, the one who woke up insanely early in the morning just to watch her train, who spent most of the day dreaming of what-ifs and what-could-bes.
The one whose love was terribly one-sided.
But she was Juvia and he was Gray and theirs was a fairy tale gone wrong.

Prompt: Cliché
Characters: Jellal, Erza {AU?}
At times, Erza wished their love was cliché.
She wished he was the boy-next-door who she grew up with and fell in love with and grew old with. She wished he was the nice-boy, the boy who brought her flowers for no reason and took her out to movies and restaurants for dates. She wished he asked her out through stammering words and shaky hands and asked her to marry him in the middle of dinner at a restaurant. She wished they would grow old together, die together, look after kids and grandkids and great-grand kids together.
She wished he was the boy-next-door, the nice-boy, the handsome-perceptive-boy, the boy-who-would-cause-her-no-pain.
Instead he was her fellow prisoner then a jailor. He caused her so much fucking pain and tears and blood and horrible horrible memories. He was a killer, he was a lover….. he was lost. He was her best friend, her worst enemy, her soul mate. Their love was broken and twisted and wrong. Their love was hopeless and impossible and far too gone.
He couldn't love her.
He did not grow old with her- she had to do that alone.
At times, Erza wished their love was cliché.

Prompt: Ribbon
Characters: Asuka, Alzack
Asuka had this pretty little ribbon in her hair and her father was fuming.
Alzack had gone through many things in his life, but watching his little, precious daughter, go on a date, sent him into a rage he never experienced before. He still felt she was far too young for things like boys and dates, but his wife threatened to shoot him if he so as glared at darling Asuka's date.
And she was also wearing her favourite ribbon.
He gave her that ribbon, and she promised she would only wear it when she went out with people she loved very much- that was Mama and Papa- not stupid little testosterone driven boys.
Alzack froze. Did she love him?
He watched fuming, helplessly and sadly as his daughter posed with the boy for a picture, the golden ribbon shining brightly in her black hair. She looked at him when she was just about to leave and noticed his stricken expression. Her hand went to her hair, in matter of habit, and froze when she felt the texture of her ribbon.
She glanced at the boy holding open the door expectantly, and at her father who raised his hand forlornly. She paused, and quickly undid the ribbon in one swift gesture and watched it fall to the ground.
Her dad caught her eyes.
She smiled.

Prompt: Staccato
Characters: Mirajane, Laxus
She fell asleep every night listening to the staccato beat of his heart.
That's what kept her sane. Whatever happened- fights, wars, killing, blood- his heart would always beat.
Beat to a waltz, to a techno, to a fox-trot, to a march.
But one night, she had to fall asleep listening to that staccato beat becoming a legato and finally when she woke up, there was silence.

At 3:30 am Gajeel lets her go.

At 4:15 am she wonders if her life will ever be the same.
At 3:15 am, eight months later, Natsu knocks on her door.

I'm not very happy with how these turned up. But, well, whatever.
I don't know why everyone seems to die in these drabbles. It's weird .-.
