Emma was trying to throw her crunched up paper in the wastebin from her desk when she got the call.
"Emma, I think you should come and pick Regina up," Ruby's voice came through the line, "She's uh… well, you should just take her home."
A thousand scenarios rushed through Emma's head, all of them horrible. "Ruby? What's wrong with her? Where is she?"
"Emma, relax, she's fine. We're at Granny's at the moment, and, I can't explain over the phone but just get here soon, okay?"
Emma grabbed her keys and jacket and practically ran to the cruiser. Ruby hadn't sounded worried, but she hadn't sounded happy either.
Emma drove as fast as she could justify without turning the sirens on. When she reached Granny's, she busted open the door, just in time to hear Regina saying, "And she does this thing with her tongue and honestly, it's like nothing you've ever felt."
"Gina?" Emma was slightly shocked. Regina's head snapped round, and a soppy smile appeared on her face.
"Emma! I was just telling your mother about the other night when Henry was at the sleepover…"
Noticing Snow and David looking slightly horrified, Emma cut Regina off.
"Sweetheart, why don't you wait in the car and I'll take you home, okay?"
Regina nodded and smirked. As she passed Emma, she pinched her butt and whispered in her ear, "Snow tried to slip me some truth serum, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to embarrass her. I'll be waiting in the car." She giggled for good measure and sashayed out of the diner.
"What on earth was that?" Emma glared at her mother until she cracked.
"I may have put some truth serum in her coffee. But, I just wanted to know if she knew anything about our missing year! For all we know she could have been in league with Zelena or…"
Emma held up a hand to silence her. "Well done, Mary Margaret. Now I have the Mayor of this town high in the back of my police cruiser because of you. If you really wanted to know, couldn't you have asked her?" Snow opened her mouth, but Emma glared at her and she slowly closed it again. "I hope next time you try to get information out of someone, you'll think twice about how to go about it." She turned on her heel and headed for the door, "And yes, Regina and I are sleeping together."
The door closed with the tinkling bell on Snow's dumbfounded face.
