With all this talk about the confirmed kiss between Oliver and Felicity in the finale, this little idea just wouldn't leave me alone.

I also really really really hope they put this cut scene in the deleted scenes or something. I need to see it.

Musing

Summary:

On the flight to drop Slade off on Lian Yu, he catches Felicity tracing her lips. It was a sharp reminder of what he had done in the mansion.

After being in the air for a few hours already, Oliver finally found a moment to relax. The concept still felt foreign to him but he knew that both Diggle and Felicity would tell him off if he didn't at least try. Everyone on board was silent as the adrenaline from the day left their body. They were transporting Slade to an A.R.G.U.S holding facility on Lian Yu. Oliver swept his eyes across his two teammates. Diggle was piloting the plane, talking softly over the radio to Lyla. When his eyes landed on Felicity, he felt his chest become constricted. Images of what he had done and what he had said in the mansion came rushing back and he closed his eyes in regret. Opening them up again at Felicity's soft sigh, he watched her.

Unaware of his stare, Felicity leant her head against the window of the plane and brought her hand up to touch her lips. As hard as she tried, she couldn't get rid of the feeling of Oliver's touch, the feeling of his lips upon hers. It was exactly how she dreamed it would be, however the circumstances would have been preferably different. Of course Felicity had imagined a much more romantic setting. Their lives wouldn't be in danger and Oliver would kiss her because he wanted to, not because of a plan to outthink his enemy. She imagined that Oliver would take her out on a romantic yet simple date and he would be a complete gentleman without a need to put on a persona for everyone. At the end of their date, he would walk her to her door and, as cliché as it was, he would kiss her on her door step before walking away.

A sudden bout of turbulence brought Felicity out of her musings and she found her hands gripping the armrest until her knuckles turned white. Oliver was out of his seat as he watched her breath come in short pants and her eyes squeezed shut. Pushing his guilty thoughts to the back of his mind, he sat down beside her.

"Felicity?" he questioned softly, his hand coming to rest upon hers. Felicity made a noise of acknowledgement but didn't open her eyes. Oliver smiled gently as he pried her fingers away from the armrest and allowed her to grip his hand.

The turbulence lasted for a while and during that entire time, Oliver allowed Felicity to lean on him for comfort. He owed that to her. He owed her his life and so much more. He wasn't sure how he was going to make this up to her. It wasn't hard to tell what Felicity had been thinking about when she had brought her hand up to her mouth. It was the same thing playing on repeat in his mind, when he wasn't thinking about everything else.

Once Diggle had landed the plane, Felicity slowly opened up her eyes.

"You alright?" Oliver asked. Taking a deep breath, Felicity nodded and eventually managed to release his hand.

"Sorry….if I hurt you," she said, gesturing towards his hand.

"It was nothing," Oliver answered. Felicity smiled and stood up, biting the corner of her lips. Oliver watched in fascination as a flush took over her face but made no mention of it. It wasn't the time to dwell on this. He had a part of his island life that needed to be finished with. And then maybe, he would see where his musings would take him regarding Felicity.
