Cliché Ten—Vampire

Draco was reading the paper, Harry noted. And not just any paper, the Daily Prophet—which was weird since both of them had agreed never to allow that particular newspaper in their household, ever since they published that article three years ago that screamed for Harry to be fired from the Aurors, after he was bitten by a vampire during a raid. They said that he was no longer suitable for the job, and was a danger to everyone around him. As if after he was turned, he no longer had any mental capabilities or self-control.

In the end, he did get let go, but he was given a valid reason. Because he was a vampire, going out into the sunlight affected him rather negatively and weakened him to a large degree, which made him vulnerable in the field, even though greater strength and speed came with vampirism.

Okay, back to Draco. Harry had thought him reading the Daily Prophet was weird enough, but was weirder…Draco actually looked rather pleased. Harry stared at him with a curious look on his face.

He zoomed to Draco's side, resting his mouth near Draco's ear. Being so close to Draco was nice, especially since his blood smelled so nice. Harry shook his head to clear those thoughts. Not appropriate at the moment, considering he just drank a few hours ago.

"What are you looking at?" Harry asked.

Draco turned to him, putting down the paper with a triumphant smirk on his face.

"It seems that the campaigning worked," Draco explained. "The Ministry is actually considering changing the law for vampires. Provide them with the same benefits wizards have—no longer punishing them for what they never wanted in the first place."

Draco coughed a little. "And I suppose Granger might have had a little to do with it. Thank her for me."

Harry looked at him, surprised, before his lips stretched into a smile. "I'm happy that you're giving Hermione the respect she deserves. And she doesn't do it for the praise—she believes in rights. Also, you should thank her yourself."

Harry's hand reached into the lolly bowl and pulled out a blood pop. The news was a cause for celebration! And the taste of blood was always enjoyable. Popping it into his mouth, he grinned at Draco, noticing the slightly disgusted look on his face. Draco obviously found the taste of blood gross, since he wasn't a vampire. He liked getting his blood sucked though. To each his own.

"This is good," Harry said, licking the candy.

Draco rolled his eyes, wrinkling his nose.

"Right…but you know, my blood tastes better," Draco said with a wink.

"And how would you know that?" Harry asked, amused.

"Obviously," Draco stated. "And you know it too."

"Well…" Harry glanced to the newspaper. "The news is call for celebration…"

Their eyes locked and Draco read the words not said.

They headed towards the bedroom.

Cliche suggested by lovebites123 and TheDemonLady. I honestly had no idea what to write, don't read many vampire fics. Sorry. :P
