I treaded steadily to the next area, my mates trailing behind.
We had defeated the Quatre Knights, though Naoki nearly lost his memories, and the whole time he cursed his powerlessness, slapping himself every now and then in frustration.
"I will not lose my memories of Aichi." He proclaimed to himself, but he shouted so loudly that we could all hear him rant.
"Yes, you will." A very familiar voice rattled, and I whipped around, seeing a very despised face.
Olivier Gaillard.
As if replying to my face when I saw him, he scowled in disgust, his eyes burning with hatred for me.
"You will fall here." Gaillard continued, raising his chin proudly. I narrowed my eyes.
"And if you fall?" I shot back.
"I will not fall to someone as lowly as you." He sneered back. I felt my fist clench, gritting my teeth in rage.
"I will win, for Aichi's sake." I declared through gritted teeth, lifting my clenched hand up.
"So will I." Gaillard countered, pulling his deck out, blue flames surrounding the stack of cards. I narrowed my eyes.
"Then I'll fight you!" Miwa challenged, and I lifted my arm up to stop him. I couldn't see him, but I could feel his questioning gaze rest on me.
"I want to fight him." I growled. "No, not fight."
"I want to crush him."
Gaillard's hand clenched on his deck tighter, blue flames emerging. I narrowed my eyes, red flames sprouting out as well. Our fierce gazes locked as fire danced around us, blue and red trying to engulf each other. I pulled out my own deck, hatred burning in my core.
I wanted to beat him so badly.
I wanted to see him be burned by his own judgement, to see the humiliation on his face. I knew this wasn't a fight to see if we can reach Aichi or not anymore.
This was a fight to see who's flames were brighter.
Reading his eyes, I could tell that Gaillard was imagining the same, his amber eyes filled with antagonism, and the flames surrounding us roared and grew with scorn, our gazes never flinching. Gaillard didn't lift his hands and do the prison chant.
We had already created the prison with our raging spite.
A table emerged from the flames, the color of it flowing from blue to red and back to blue.
"Let's go." I started simply.
Gaillard smirked, his eyebrows bending into those of anger. "Come, Kai Toshiki. Let us fight fire with fire."
