Epilogue from Severus' point of view, four years later:

"Daddy, Daddy!" Jonathan yelled as he ran toward me as soon as I stepped out of the fireplace. "You home!"

"Hello, Jonathan," I said as I picked him up and he hugged my neck. "How was your day with your grandmother?"

"Fun! We maked cookies cuz I not hit TIlly," he said.

"You made cookies?" I asked.

"Yes, and den, me and Grandma got to work on my matoes," he said.

"He was a good boy today too," Pomona said affectionately for her grandchild as she put away some dishes that I assumed they'd used to bake cookies.

"Daddy try cookie?" he asked me.

"Would I like to try one?" I asked, and Jonathan nodded.

"How about we each have one?"

"Why, Daddy?" Jonathan asked.

"So we can have two after dinner," I told him and his face brightened.

"Grandma, you stay for dinner too and you gets two cookies," Jonathan told Pomona, making her laugh.

"Alright," she replied, kissing his cheek. "I'll stay for dinner."

"How about get some of your tomatoes so we can have some dinner with grandma," I told my son.

"Okay!" He lifted his arms and I picked him up.

"How's Alice today?" I asked Pomona as we grabbed a bowl to put Jonathan's tomatoes in.

"She was worn down and tired," Pomona replied. "She and the baby are taking a nap right now."

"Good," I replied.

"Daddy, I wreed to Gracie," Jonathan said.

"Did you?" I asked.

"All about colors," Jonathan told me. "I'm helping her become marter and marter."

"I'm proud of you," I said Jonathan. "Are you ready to get your tomatoes?"

"Yes, Daddy." Jonathan grinned up at me as I carried my son outside, Jeffery at my heal. Jeffery loved Jonathan, and Jonathan loved his play mate. They spent a lot of time together playing, and I liked teaching my son responsibility of a pet.

"Look, Daddy, my matoes are big and wed," Jonathan said, pointing to the tomato bush he'd planted. From here, I could see the red against the green plant.

"I see them," I replied.

"I fink they are yummy," he told me with a hug smile. I returned the smile.

"I'm sure they are." I crouched down next to the tomato plant and set my son on the ground.

"Dis one, Daddy?" he asked, putting his hand onto one of the tomatoes.

"Yes." He tried tugging on the tomato, but it seemed too hard for him to pull.

"Daddy, I need you," Jonathan said.

Pride ran through me. My son needed my help. "How about we do it together?" I asked.

"Okay, Daddy!" he said as I put my hand on his and helped him pull the first tomato off. "Fank you." Jonathan gave me a quick hug before we started to pull of more tomatoes. Jeffery leaned forward and smelled the bowl full of tomatoes.

"Daddy, Jeffery finks he a gawdener," Jonathan said.

"I think so too," I replied, causing Jonathan to giggle.

By the time we were done, we were both covered in sweat as the sun beat down on us.

"Daddy, I'm hot," Jonathan said.

"It's hot outside, isn't it?" I asked.

"Uh-huh," Jonathan replied.

When we stepped inside, we found Pomona rocking my daughter, my week old little girl, in her arms. A large smile covered Pomona's face as Gracie looked up at her grandmother.

"Look who's up," Pomona said.

"Hi, Gracie," Jonathan said.

"Is Alice up yet?" I asked.

"No." Pomona shook her head as I placed the bowl onto the table and conger two glasses for Jonathan and me. "I heard Gracie waking up, and wanted Alice to sleep more, and it seems your daughter is keen on being held."

"She really is," I replied as I tapped Jonathan's child sized cup, causing it to fill with water. "We're exhausted from how much she just wants to be held; Jonathan slept through the night unless he was hungry."

"Fank you, Daddy," Jonathan said as I handed him his cup. He took a long drink.

"You're welcome," I told him.

"If it's okay with you, Severus," Pomona started. "I thought I could order pizza for us and we can listen to Quidditch."

"Peeze, Daddy! Peeze let Grandma order peezza!" Jonathan said enthusiastically.

"I think that's a good idea," I said, making Jonathan's eyes light up.

"Grandma, may I help you?" Jonathan asked.

"Would you like to help me find a menu and order?" Pomona asked, and Jonathan nodded.

"I'll take her, Pomona," I said before carefully taking Gracie and handing her Jonathan.
Jonathan and Pomona chatted away as they started to look for a menu, but I didn't hear them as I stared into the face of my little girl. Her dark blue eyes blinked up at me as I felt awe and wonder surge through me. Alice and I hadn't wanted any more children after Jonathan, so Gracie was unexpected, but very grateful and happy surprise. From the moment she was born, she had me wrapped around her tiny fingers.

I went upstairs, where I went to the library, and sat in her rocking chair. My fingers trailed over her blonde hair.

She looks like Alice, I thought, amazed that our daughter had inherited her beauty.

"What did I do to deserve you?" I asked my daughter.

Gracie yawned widely, making me smile. I kissed her forehead. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw movement, causing me to look up at my wife walk through the room. She wore a sweet smile, and her long, blonde hair was wet from a shower.

"Hello," I said.

"Hi," she replied, smiling at me. "How was your day?"

"Good, but slow," I told her. "How was everything here?"

"Really good, and so glad Pomona was here to help. I got a nap and shower in, and I didn't realize how much I needed it," she explained as she took the baby from me and sat across my lap.

I wrapped my arms around Alice as she started to unbutton her blouse to feed our daughter. "Pomona is ordering pizza so we can have that during Quidditch," I said.

"Good, and I hope she orders extra for leftovers," Alice said.

"I'm sure she will, and if not she'll be here tomorrow to help."

"True." Alice nodded. "I really like having a daughter, Severus, but I feel like I'm worn out than when we had Jonathan."

"It's gotten busier with two kids," I told her.

"I think so too," Alice agreed. "Did Jonathan show you his tomatoes?"

"Yes, and we picked some. I'm sure we'll have one of them with dinner; he was very eager to pick them," I told her.

Alice laughed. "He kept showing them to us, and he insisted that Gracie and Jeffery look at them too."

"I remember his mommy doing the same thing when her first vegetables came in," I teased.

She laughed again. "I was very excited," she admitted. "She's hungry tonight," Alice commented, stoking Gracie's round cheek.

"She is. She's a growing girl," I said. My fingers caressed her soft, blonde, downy hair.

"I'm glad we have a daughter," Alice said thoughtfully.

"Me too," I agreed.

"Mommy, I bringged you a slice of matoe and cookie!" Jonathan said, walking into the center of the room as he carried a plate of sliced tomatoes.

"You brought me a tomato and a cookie?" Alice asked our son in the affectionate tone she reserved for our son and daughter.

"And Daddy too!" Jonathan said. "You have one, okay!"

"Okay," Alice replied, smiling at our son. "I'm going to finish feeding Gracie first."

"Okay, Mommy. Daddy twie my matoe and cookie," he said, holding up the plate for me.

I took a slice of tomatoe and took a bite. "It's very good, Jonathan," I told him, and he beamed up at me.

Once Alice buttoned up, she moved Gracie to her shoulder before taking a slice of tomato. Jonathan watched his mother eagerly as she took a bite. "This is really good, Jonathan."

"I'm a gawdener like Mommy," Jonathan said, smiling up at me. "Me and Jeffery."

Alice laughed. "You both are gardeners."

By the time we finished Jonathan's tomato, Gracie had fallen asleep, resting her head on Alice's shoulder.

"And Mommy, Grandma order peeza!" Jonathan declared. "We listen to Qwitich."

"Oh, yeah?" Alice asked.

"I help." Jonathan pointed to himself. "I Grandma's big boy."

Pomona laughed as she pulled him on to her lap as she sat on the couch across from us. "You are Grandma's big boy." She kissed his head and smiled at us.

Within the next forty minutes, Alice put Gracie in her bassinet as Pomona and Jonathan answered the door. With my wand, I conjured plates and glasses of water for the four of us.

"Daddy, I paid peeza man wif money," Jonathan told me.

"You're very responsible," I said to my son as Pomona directed the cardboard boxes onto the end table with her wand.

"Grandma, I'm hugwy," Jonathan said as he stood by her side.

"I am too," Pomona admitted.

"May I sit wif you, Grandma?" Jonathan asked.

"Yes you may, Jonathan," Pomona said before asking Alice, "Just one slice for him?"

"Yes, and then we'll have cookies after," Alice said.

"Mmmm, cookies, Grandma!" Jonathan said as he pulled himself up onto the couch next to Pomona and into her lap.

Pomona helped Jonathan feed himself as I handed Alice a plate as Gracie slept in the crook of her arm. Jonathan chatted away happily to his mother and grandmother, and I watched my family in silence.

This is my life now, I thought in awe; ten years ago I had been fighting as a spy, not expecting to live. My son, daughter, and wife were here in my life. I loved it, and I wouldn't change all of the bad years for anything. Having these three in my life were worth going through the hell I had endured for years. A smile covered my face as Alice leaned against me as she ate.

Alice's point of view:

"Isn't that better?" I heard Severus said as I turned over in bed. I opened my eyes to see Severus feeding Alice, him looking at her with tenderness that made my heart melt. Even though Severus and Jonathan were close, there was something between Gracie and Severus that was special. She seemed to be a daddy's girl, and I loved seeing this new side of Severus.

"Severus?" I asked in a groggy voice. "What time is it?"

"Almost two," he replied. "I've got her bottle. You should sleep."

"I'll get the next feeding, okay," I said, turning over.

"Alright," Severus said in his deep voice.

Sighing, I turned over and closed my eyes. When I was nearly asleep, a loud crash of thunder woke me up, but I quickly started to drift off again, hearing the distant sounds of thunder.

"Mommy," I heard cry from the doorway of our room, making my eyes snap open. Something was wrong with my baby. Sitting up, I saw tears streaming down his face, and immediately, I held out my arms for my little boy. He quickly ran into them, Jeffery right behind him with his ears flat on his head in fear.

"A storm, Mommy," Jonathan whimpered as I pulled him onto my lap, and he started to cry as his little hands clutched my nightgown.

"It's okay, Jonathan. Mommy's here." I wrapped my arms tightly around him in comfort.

"It loud and scary!" he moaned.

Jeffery whined as he jumped onto the bed, lay between Severus and I, and whined again.

"Sshhh, Jonathan," I said as I ran my hand over my son's hair, swaying my body side to side.

Slowly, Jonathan's crying stopped as he drifted off to sleep.

"You know, when we got married, I didn't think we have all of this in our bed," Severus said in an amused tone. "I don't think I could've imaginied it."

I laughed softly. "Me neither. Me neither," I whispered. "When we got married …" I trailed off as I bit my lip.

"When we got married?" Severus prompted after a moment.

Taking a deep breath I continued, "I never thought I'd fall in love," I admitted. "But you're so wonderful to me, Severus. Now we have two beautiful children, and I've fallen in love with you."

"I know what you mean," he said. "I wasn't sure if this would work between us, but I love you and kids more than anything."

"I love you too," I replied.

A huge smile covered my face as he leaned forward and gave me a sweet kiss. I returned the kiss, feeling the love of my husband as his lips moved against mine. I was where I was supposed to be.
